THE ANIMATED MOVIE
-Complete Original Soundtrack-
American Version
☆☆☆☆☆Introduction★★★★★
Although there was already a thread for this (Thread 36582) with the original rip works dated from 2006, I decided to make a new thread, since this is the Actual Complete Version. We could say that this could be a 20 years anniversary release of the movie (it was released in 1994 ;) ). Still Unofficial, but collecting more tracks. Although I was happy with marioxb work on the original rips, for some reason he missed many tracks of the soundtrack. I don't know if at the time it was not possible to rip those tracks or if there was any other reason, but this is REALLY COMPLETE. :) The old rips were 160 kbps, these are now 320kpbs. :)
Besides the missing tracks added in this release, we also have a new track from the French Dub, in which was replacing the song played in the radio when Chun-Li is working on her hair. In the American version, that scene has the In the Nursery's "Hallucinations? (Dream World Mix)".
In the first release, we had bundled as a bonus, the original Street Fighter game audio redbook. This time that was taken out, since the idea of making a 2 disc set would not be possible with the same idea as before. I decided to add the "Street Fighter II MOVIE -Interactive Movie-" audio redbook from the Sega Saturn version.
Also made a Front and Back cover for this. ;)
I will share the old files too, in case someone might like the older release or to compare the 2 versions.
☆☆☆☆☆My Experience & Opinion★★★★★
Sometimes, the first time you see something in a way, when you get to see it in another form, you just can't change the fact that you liked the first time you felt what you felt , and not being able to like the original form.
This was a bit like me. I first saw this movie back in the 90ts, with dubbed English, with this soundtrack. One of the things that I like in a soundtrack is when the music is actually pumping yourself to the feeling of the movie. John D' Andrea and Cory Lerios did and amazing job with this movie, in terms of music.
I will never forget, and that opening scene of Sagat fighting Ryu had such an amazing music place, that suited so damn well, and at the moment Ryu shoots his Hadouken to the screen, which makes the title of the movie, was superb. The end of the song, which is Ryu's theme, the way it was played was so damn epic that stayed in my mind for years... and still today every time I think of that fight. :)
Soundtrack has great mix of heavy rock and synthesized stuff, which sounds very good, and gives you a good image for the movie itself.
And as of typical American soundtrack, we have, like always music not from the original composers, but from bands. Now, I usually have a kind of hatred for that, because of the bad taste in music, that practically ALL music producers in movies have, but this one, ran from that. The American production of the music in here, was actually trying their BEST to get music that would fit perfectly in the universe presented. That "Theme" for Deejay, it works great on him. Or even, the best fight of the movie, Chun-Li vs Vega.... That Hard Rocking track just made the fight even more powerful to our feelings in seeing that, and it fit freaking well.
The only bad point of this movie's soundtrack is ... Korn. It's like "let's do a great job in fitting perfectly music in here, but let's fuck up everything with Korn." I am not into Korn, and this is not my personal taste I am putting in here. Korn just did killed the mood of the ending of the movie. Maybe there were other good and fitting tracks from Korn, if they really wanted them as the Movie Ending Theme, but that song is just horrible and awfully misplaced.
Which takes me to another issue... The Japanese Soundtrack!
The original Japanese soundtrack was composed and produced by Tetsuya Komuro... and it sucks. Why? The soundtrack is good in it's own way, but it does not fit the movie at all.
The American Soundtrack is trying to set you and serious mood, since the movie has a serious plot. The Japanese soundtrack, not only sounds so cute pop, but even the vocal tracks are placed in such bad moments. It's like this: the American soundtrack makes the movie a Terminator out of it, and the Japanese soundtrack makes the movie a Hello Kitty out of it. The Japanese soundtrack is bad because it fails in such must ways in delivering whatever it tries to deliver to one seeing the movie.
In the American soundtrack, a track f 17 minutes of Final Battle, which is a recollection montage of all other fight themes that appeared in the movie and other compositions, and damn that is an Epic track, with big E. The Japanese soundtrack, has the title "Mortal Combat" track, for the final battle, and I swear I am trying get what is mortal or what is combat about that specific track. I feel like it's a romance track. Yeah.... Ryu is going to beat the shit out of Bison by doing cute Hello Kitty eyes and ask him in marriage right after.
The Japanese soundtrack, has good music, yes, but it stands horrible as a soundtrack for a movie like this.

These were the very first ones from 2006. When I have time to get my proper pack, with proper tagging and info of the tracks and all kinds of complete stuff on it; I will share that. ;)
Unfortunately, this soundtrack is not complete at all. I have both VHS and DVD of this movie, and I know it from back to forward and there are tracks that were left out. At first I thought, maybe because some tracks were just repeated. But no. Ken VS Bison (the fight scene on Bison's airplane) was not included, but that track is really different, a new one. I know there are at least 3 or 4 tracks that were not ripped. I know I was just sad about that track of Ken VS Bison not being included.
Anyway, Here I am sharing the old pack but... I Decided to make 2 covers for this thing. Hope you guys like it. :)
