Just curious as to which media player you use for music. I'm currently using iTunes but am getting sick of it and would wonder if you could recommend something better.
Tried Winamp before, and though the playback was awesome, I disliked the navigating and sorting. And that for me is where iTunes is pretty good. It's got a slick(ish) interface and is easy as pie to sort.
Maybe there is a skin or something that could make it more visually appealing, though I am open to suggestions. I'd like something easy to sort and looks good like iTunes but something that has good playback like Winamp. Any suggestion?

I tend to use foobar2000, myself. It's sort of the be all, end all for me. I like how much you can customize it to your liking!

Be careful with the components, though. Some can make FooBar crash regularly...

Winamp, after all these years, it still has a place on the desktop.

foobar2000 is the best media player IMO, however i stick to winamp out of nostalgia (and it does have better emulated game format support)

sorry to throw a spanner in the works but i use Media Monkey .
It has it's foibles [ well to be expected on Vista lol ]
Got nice features .........check it out [ if you haven't been swayed to get Winamp ]
You could also sample VLC as that plays ALL [ i think ] Codecs both audio and video
Hope this helps and that you are having a happy and great day :autobots:

I`m really happy with MusicBee, it`s easy to find artwork with. Also, you can manage files like reorganize and delete from computer directly from within the app. I use a nice bordeaux skin so its not like a flashlight in the eyes when listening in the evening!

I use MediaMonkey.
I've been running Winamp for 17 years and it hasn't failed me yet, but I keep all my files sorted by folders so I'm really just using it for playback. Foobar is nice. Apple and the RIAA are bff butt buddies and I'd be paranoid that iTunes is sending data back to the man. Plus why ever use an Apple product when suicide is an option?

I prefer VLC, as it plays anything, and runs on windows or mac. The beauty of the version i have is it has a playlist that acts as a library

VLC for FLAC/video.
WMP for most mp3.
I use MediaMonkey or foobar for converting.
