Own rip of rare 1993 24k gold-plated CD. Supposedly mastered from "original sources" -- whatever that means. I have read some claims that this release is the best-sounding SiT. I don't have this title in any other format so if you have time/patience to compare, let us know which you prefer.

Many thanks for sharing your CD, 13mh13!
I compared it to the 80's regular CD issue and I must say this gold-plated CD sounds a bit louder & brighter to my ears

I compared it to the 80's regular CD issue and I must say this gold-plated CD sounds a bit louder & brighter to my earsGood to know. Louder/brighter are not ideal (Google "loudness wars" and the dr-loudness database for more info). OTOH, loud and bright are not the only characteristic of good SQ. There is also tonality, freq. response flatness/evenness, dynamics, "richness", etc.
A careful vinyl rip or future potential releases in high-rez or MoFi are probab. best. Unfortunately, HDTracks -- at least for pop/rock -- are as compressed and "loudnessed" as modern standard releases. Even the latest BluSpec Japanese CDs are DR nightmares. This is one reason why non-remastered "early" CDs have become valuable.

Yes, that's true - loudness war is unpleasant thing, too much brickwall'ed sound killing any dynamics. And as far as I can tell the only John Barry soundtrack available via HDtracks is Goldfinger.

I would love this MCA Ultimate Masterdisc reupped as well, please? I want to compare it with my original MCA CD copy, as far as sound is concerned.
