the women of the famicom (http://www.geocities.jp/f_tamakoku/moegal/moe_gal.htm)

I like the art from Ripple Island.

The site is a subsection to the famicom database (http://www.geocities.jp/f_tamakoku/) which features a pic and a blurb on every famicom game ever made.

She sure has changed since then! (http://www.snkplaymore.jp/official/svc/english/chara/snk_athena.html)

But yeah, I like Shinkuro's rendition of her the best.

I really, really hate Shinkuro's artwork. Always have, always will. It's like me and Amano, we just don't get on.

I don't know the name of the artist but I prefer the rendition with short hair.

I used to like her stuff a lot more, but I never had a problem with it in KOF. Metal Slug looked odd at times.

this? () or this? ()

certainly you don't mean this (http://allgames.gamesh.com/kof/update/news/2001/kof2k1/new3/athena.JPG) abomination.

No no, the abomination is the "really really short hair" one. The first time I saw that I wanted to cry.

I meant the first one you linked to. Second best hairstyle known to man.

Whoever did the KOF2k1 art should be shot in the nuts.... HARD... :(

I like the hair in the second image more than the first. But it's not really really short. It's just in a bun in the back. The first one reminded me of that pink ranger girl you're so fond of, though, so that explains that.

Honestly, I like the artist's style, but that's a terrible thing to do to Athena.

Oh crap. I just realized that you meant the one I called an abomination was the "really really short haired one" that made you cry, and not that another version of her with really short hair was the abomination, as I originally thought you meant... sending me around the internet looking up her pics from each year.

Ah well. It's almost six and I wish I could get to sleep =\

ah well, back on track!

It's Nakayama Miho, of Nakayama Miho's Tokimeki Highschool! One of the first date sims, I think. Maybe first on a console:

and her in_game version:

I just looked her up online and apparently she's still doing fine (http://angelmiho.com/)

Actually... actually I've seen some of the shows she was in =| Kinda strange.

I totally agree with the Amano part. I really don't like his style. And I don't know who is Shinkuro so...

Haha, I guess my Kinji Fukasaku tribute will be short lived. This thread is full of potential avatar goodness.

I liked the artwork in KOF2001. Athena did look pretty non-cute though. :(

There's also a game where you fight AS the Statue of Liberty. Alas it's not Famicom related...

I could never make it past this bit either. ":("

Tehehe. Ghostbusters.
Well, I am now browsing through the list of games... and there are some obscure and weird games, it seems. Huh? (http://www.geocities.jp/f_tamakoku/famicon/database/1986_picture/1986_06/iamateacher2.gif)

That game where you fight the statue of liberty is called abarenbou tengu(gamefaqs has it listed as bourenbou instead of abarenbou) should you ever get the urge to play it. That
statue of liberty looks pretty menacing though. It probably deserves to be defeated.

The site has EVERY single famicom game in its list so obscure and odd games are bound to pop up. I have absolutely no clue what that teacher game could be about. A sewing teacher? The other screenshot I saw ofit just had a screen full of green squares.
