Has anyone ever noticed any stupid mistakes??
For example, when Aeris dies, cloud takes her body with him into the water, it is plain to see that cloud is standing up.
He drops Aeris, and somehow she falls 100+feet to the bottom of the water.
If cloud was standing up, how the #%*! does that work!?
Another thing, when you fight jenova after aeris dies and successfully defeat her, she says "beacause cloud....you are a puppet."
beacause?? i think they meant because >_<
When you go to the honeybee inn, Aeris says to cloud,
"oh, thats how you fooled them" then cloud says" yeah thats how" then the story carries on.
WTF WERE THEY TALKING ABOUT!!! such a random thing to say.
So, anyone else notice any mistakes?

Cloud was standing on a ridge in the water - you can see it at a certain angle. The water drops off where he left Aeris.

I'm pretty sure it was a snide reference to either Cloud's cross dressing, or the gay guys at the 'squats' place.
It just shows you how badass Cloud is when he can wear a dress for part of the game and still come out being cool at the end.

Another mistake I read on a site points out that when Sephiroth jumps to kill Aeris he has no gloves. When you see him pull out the sword from Aeris his suddenly wearing gloves.

When Bizarro Sephiroth uses Bizarro Energy, it's spelled enegy
And, in the Battle Square, you pull out a Buster Sword no matter what you're weapon is.

Or maybe because he defies the laws of physics with his appearing/disappearing, the sword can do the same?

While trying to find the key for "The Temple of the Ancients" you have to go to the Gold Saucer and fight for it
After you defeat the first batch of enimes he asks you to continue, it says :
"Off course"
instead of "Of Course"
I just noticed it and kept it in my mind

Anyway, as for mistakes,...there are a substantial amount of typos. I haven't really paying detail to physical mistakes,...I've always cut it some slack on a few obvious things (buster sword as previously mentioned), due to it's limited graphic detail.

When they go into space on Shinra 26, they don't become weightless. Ok, you can say the Shinra 26 is constantly accelerating with the thrust, thus giving "gravity".
How about the escape pod? No evidence of seat belts and they aren't weightless!

W-ITEM!!!
I had to smack myself when I thought of this one, assuming it is a mistake.
Being able to get 99 of any item you can use in battle?
If this was a mistake, I dont think anyone complained about it, except when they found out there friend got it and they didn't because they were too lazy/didn't know any better to back track in the tunnels in Midgar. It would be so hard to level up materia without infinite elixirs to give to those annoying insatiable pots.

I have wondered why the alarm don't switch on when they are in the 5th reactor...
And what was the meaning of the secret alarm in a Junon tunnel...
Where the body of Diamond WEAPON is...
Why Vincent story is not very clear...
Why when you go to the Junon tunnels, there is a dog that block a door. When you press select, you can see that you can go throught the door...
For example, when Aeris dies, cloud takes her body with him into the water, it is plain to see that cloud is standing up.

many many spelling errors, and the w-item...
the w-item glitch i think was PURPOSELY put in....
because megalixers are so few, and elixers...tehre's a total of liek 40 elixers throughout the game....can you imagine fighting pots like that?
no i think that glitch was purposely done..but we only know about it becaue of walkthroughs...in fact the original glitch must have been told to someone who made a walkthrough and then people made walkthroughs etc...no i'm sure it was purposely done!
who would think to try that as a glitch RANDOMLY!
and another glitch is one of the limit breaks...with cid, he lights a dynamite stick on fire and throws it at one enemy and the whole enemy force is attacked while the characters, standing like 4 feet away, dont get hurt at all
then there's the glitch where aerith falls down but never hits the bottom...while the materia does. It's almost as if the materia is more important than aerith. OH and how sephiroth's sword disappears...good times.

no the important thing was that the game was enjoyable to play
I agree with both of you. FFVII is a great game, and all these mistakes don't really matter. The most important hting is that you enjoy the game. FFVII has a good message behind it, and that's what I like the most about it.
while we're on the topic of mistakes, I have something to add. It's not so much a mistake as something that was incomplete or unfinished.
I was talking to some of the people that are decompiling all of the game info in FF7 and they discovered the following.
- Each Magic (green) materia has an extra ability slot at lvl 5 (max ap).
- There are several 'blank' materia that exist in the game but have no abilities.(In fact, if you used the debug room, you can access all of these)
Some of the materia have incomplete programming information (Shield, Contain, Manipulate, Transform)
So it is speculated that the following was supposed to exist but never finished for some reason.
One of the Blank materia has a refrence to the Japanese word for "wind" so they are thinking that that materia was probably supposed to be "Aero"
lvl 5 Fire was probably 'Flare'
lvl 5 Ice was probably 'Freeze'
lvl 5 Time was probably 'Break'
lvl 5 Aero was probably 'Tornado'
lvl 5 Barrier was probably 'Shield'
<EDIT> Oh yeah I forgot one:
lvl 5 restore was probably 'Full Cure'
Hmmm.... Interesting indeed

I have a explanation for there being no blood when aires dies. There was too swords that were made maruslum and masamune they were made by the same blacksmith in (i think it was) wutai the swords looked exactly the same, but one of the was diffrent, it was stronger and very sharp so sharp that when you cut someone with it or stab them not a drop of blood will apear. And sephoroth got that one. sorry i can not remember the whole story i think it was at rpgdreamers.com under fanfics.

interesting....
another mistake i noticed, when Tifa escapes from the gas chamber, she runs along the barrel of the cannon. the cannon has a name plaque on it reading Sister Ray, however it is not until the canon is moved to Midgar that Scarlet says 'I hate the name mako canon, lets call it the Sister ray' ( or something like that)

yeah the most noticable time (for me anyway) was right at the end when cid reaches out for the controls of the Highwind, i also think there was a time when Cid says "hold onto your pants and dont piss in 'em" (I think its wen the Tiny bronco crashes, but not sure

Just a friendly reminder for all you guys who are talking about sephiroth's 'masamune' not covered with blood, or no blood on aeris:
The 'Masamune' is, like a 'holy' sword, it 'repells' blood.

Two other mistakes in the game:
1. When Sephiroth drops down towards Aeris with his masumune poised to impale, he wasn't wearing any gloves, but after driving the sword through Aeris, he was wearing them all of a sudden...
2. On the way out of the "City Of The Ancient", theres a pathway that leads to nowhere. The games developers must of aborted it...

Guys, I am not sure about this, but when Cloud recovers from the Mako Poisoning, is he even told about Weapon and Meteor?
I know that maybe he could have assumed, but the game never presents us with a situation where Cloud is realizing in what situation the world is at the moment.
Another point, but not really a mistake, just a bit confusing. The world of Final Fantasy VII is fictitious, not even set in our world, with continents called Europe, Asia or America. But during Sephiroth's Supernova we see the planets of our solar system ex. Mercury, Venus, EARTH!!, Jupiter, Saturn etc...
Any ideas???

There are quite a number of errors/mistakes:
"This guy are sick"
When fighting the first boss, it says 'Attack while its tail is up' when in fact they missed out the important word of Don't.
There is snow inside Midgar where it's not possible for snow to appear.
During Aerith's death, Sephiroth's gloves appear on and off his hands during.
There's more, that's all I can think of right now.

'Grandfather' could be a poorly translated term.
Or maybe Bugenhagen isn't Nanaki's biological "Grandfather" rather a guardian of Nanaki after Seto died.
Yeah, I think so.
Desert Wolf
06-29-2006, 02:52 PM
No i think he actually is his grandfather. The fact that Hojo wanted to breed Red and Aeris shows its possible for his kind to mate with humans. Therefore Bugenhagen = Dirty bastard
Although you might like the idea of beastiality. I must give truthful answers. Haha.
I don't think Hojo was actually going to make Aeris and Red have sex. I'm pretty sure being the scientist he is, he would've gotten semen from Red.
Hahaha, funny sentence.
And "put it in" Aeris.
Haha.
Back to Bugenhagen, the word Grandfather is being used as a sign of respect.
