If I'm honest, I'm not a big fan of "OH LOOK AT ME!" mega-threads... I like people to have to go looking for things. It pains me to think of somebody steaming through this thread downloading everything in sight whilst missing the discussions and camaraderie that prompted the posts to be made in the first place. I share because I want to share - having a list of psychological failings as long as your arm and a very limited social faculty in the "real world" I discovered that I can connect with people through music. Whether I give one person a happy feeling, make their miserable day a little sunnier, or even start them off on a journey of discovery that will reward them for the rest of their lives... that's what it's all about.

So, why am I doing this? It's been requested! It's the same old story; I get people saying they consider my taste in music to be reliable and they ask if I can point them to my other posts. It's reached a point now where I can barely remember what I've uploaded, having been a regular contributor since 2008 with a pronounced increase in pace over the past two or three years. I put a lot of care into my posts; 99% of them have custom write-ups and well over half are my own rips from my own CDs. I don't ever post anything I don't like. It's not just a case of hitting "upload" and getting on with other things; every post is made manually, with care and attention - and I know they are received - at least by some - in kind.

At this point, it makes sense to try to catalogue and index my uploads. There's a bit of everything here - Hollywood, anime, game, concert, and classical. I have decided to start with the "easy kills" - namely posts which have still-working links, but I do intend to (eventually) go back over my entire posting history and repost everything or nearly everything. I'm pleased to say that 100% of the uploads I have made to Mega.co.nz since January 2013 are still working.

I plan to expand and update this listing on a regular basis - thoughts and corrections are most welcome.

I do welcome extensive posts like this, and in this case there is diversity enough for many of us to find something we want, or as you point out, to delve into new styles. For example, this will be useful when I'll have a look at Asian composers.

I agree with you about the "how awesome my megathread is", but if there's a restricted group of members that deserves to have it's own thread, by the amount level of music excellency shared to the forum, then you'd be one of them.

I can't see on the list Michiru Oshima "Adiantum Blue"? I believe you posted this soundtrack too? If so don't forget to add, but correct me if i'm mistaken with another soundtrack :)

Just posting to say your work is much welcomed! I've recently been getting into soundtracks and branching out a bit. I was pretty interested in something you posted back in 08 - Your Anime Symphony Experiment. I'm still working through specific soundtracks but I'll definitely download that as soon as it's available. Can't wait to see some of these other links (when my schedule frees up a bit) as well!

Thanks for taking the time to put this list together. Whilst it's impossible to cover the complete spectrum that lies within the humble term "music", posts like this can give a useful starting point to those that like the quest of discovery.

To save storage space on my Mega account, I am going to start deleting all MP3 and AAC versions of my uploads, except obviously if the lossy version if the only version I have! I'm sorry if this bothers anybody but MP3-only folk are now so rare that it's just not worth it any more. There is nothing to stop you from downloading the FLAC and re-encode it to whatever lossy format you want. To those who protest that they don't know how to re-encode, I do not exaggerate when I say that you can learn how to do it and do it in less time than it would take you to moan at me about taking down the MP3s. They are useful skills to learn so please, help yourself, and go and figure it out just like everybody else did.

It's worth pointing out that whilst this upload is FLAC, the music was all sourced from MP3s - I didn't collect FLAC back then and to be honest barely anybody was uploading it anyway! I have better sources for almost all the scores represented now... so please don't download this for the sound quality... I still think it's a nice round half-hour whistlestop tour of orchestral anime music from around 1993 to 2007 and I think it would still be useful to help folk sample the genre.

I do indeed like your taste very much so thanks for sharing these! May I ask a recommendation question? I remember in the big "ORCHESTRAL ACTION MUSIC" thread you liked an album I really liked (though I don't think it was you who shared it): the orchestral album of Hana Ki Sou. Can you recommend anything else that's like it? I researched the composer Akiko Shikata but all the other albums I could find didn't seem to be orchestral (though if you had particular recommendations I could check them out anyway). I even downloaded the original two discs of Hana Ki Sou music but was somewhat disappointed at hearing the glorious music played by synths (and it didn't even include any versions, much less additional development, of my favorite track, #2).

It's a big difficult to reccommend something without knowing what specifically draws you about HKS? Shikata hasn't, to my knowledge, done anything similar.

I'm a poor guy so I can't afford import those Sugiyama LPs, which you generously bought from seemingly the only UK seller that I could find.
