an improved music and effects track from the out-of-print Twilight Time blu-ray. I dont know if the new blu-ray has a different track.
The 1961 film used a mono score, but a stereo recording was also made as a kind of experiment. The tracks werent used, and put in storage. When the 1995 laserdisc was prepared, the surviving stereo tracks were mixed into the movie soundtrack, and also released on a Cloud Nine CD. However, they werent integrated into the laserdisc music/effects track.
On the blu-ray, the stereo cues were definitely spliced into the music/effects track (and possibly the 5.1 film audio, although there's some debate about that). Some tracks like "Cephalopod" werent substituted into the music/effects, possibly because they dont seem to match the final film score (my assertion based on trying to add it from the Cloud Nine cd). I'm including the Ray Harryhausen commentary from the short documentary on the laserdisc - you dont need video to enjoy it.
