Hello. I'm having difficulties on downloading game soundtracks from the site. I read on other threads that the problem has to do with the servers responsible for the file storage is down. I made this thread for the purpose of having an answer about if this is going to be fixed and when.

I'm glad I ain't the only one. What's the point of having a site to download game soundtracks if the links don't work?

problem is, i kinda liked downloading a specific theme i wanted instead of the entire ost.
OR hear themes individually to see if the ost was worth it.

Oh no, I don't have any issues with downloading/not from it, just wondering if it was intended or not for them to be down, I recall some years back it was an issue with traffic or something and it was disabled, but then it went back again and worked...

So, just wondering if this is actually intended or just some issues with the server ;)

I have no idea. I last downloaded music from GH in December, and the speeds were blazing fast. I think I was downloading The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess OST cos I just finished the game on my wii. No issues, but when I wanted to download the OST for Shikigami no Shiro III, nothing came out of the server....

I've been experiencing this too, is there just too much traffic or were the links just killed off?

They are dead, from what I have heard.

If they're dead then what's the point of having the soundtrack listings? And trying to browse here for soundtracks is worthless sometimes because not every soundtrack GH had is uploaded here or the links are dead with people still asking for reups months afterward.

The server is still DNS reachable.

Apparently the download server dl1.ffshrine.org (208.100.44.78) is still resolvable via nslookup, but the server itself is refusing other connections. It could have been DDOS'ed for all we know. I am not sure if it accepts FTP connections but I will leave that for others to try out.

Also, this doesn't seem to be on a dedicated server but on a self-run server. Whoever is running it probably forgot to maintain it. Besides, the domain name is expiring on the 28th of September this year. They will probably look at the issue when the time comes to renew the domain certificate.

Well, I hope they'll look into it, and not let the domain name expire. That would be sad because I love Galbadia Hotel, and they have some MP3s there that other sites don't have.

I figure it is worth noting no admin has replied to this thread. I know they don't read them all, so perhaps pm-ing one of them may net an answer.

Wow. Every download attempted with GH is not working! Someone fix the site and update it with many new music sets (like it used to be)! Until then "downloads.*********.com" is winning the race. There was a ALBW music set there! One heck of a GH copy site, name is K H I N S I D E R.

I think that GH is starved on donations.... Sigh. I wish I could donate, but I am not of the legal age to use PayPal in my country. Even so, if I make a small contribution, it isn't going to be enough to reach the donation goal. Far from it :\
