Thank you very much! I can't wait to hear the new recording of his "Othello Symphony".

"I’ve reduced my ballet Othello which is two hours and change, to a symphony, to achieve symphonic purposes. Not a suite, not a narrative - a symphony. It’s 33 minutes long. Othello Symphony, I’m calling it. Liszt had a Faust Symphony, for example. And this way it can be programmed for a symphony hall, for symphony listening purposes." -EG-

Little bump, does anybody have Goldenthal's new Othello Symphony and/or his String Quartet No.1 ? Thanks!

Thanks very much for sharing. Although I don't like everything Goldenthal does (typically his modern action scores like SWAT or the funky stuff he does for Taymor's films), he still one of my favorite composers. Wish he would do more film scores.

Pleasure. I wish he did more like final fantasy

I feel like a fool. Evidently I thanked the OP for sharing but neglected to actually download the music. I'd completely forgotten I had even made that post.

If anyone has this I would very much appreciate a re-up.

Goldenthal really should stop doing these blas concert pieces and write some real music - film music - instead.

Unfortunately, it's a Varse relse.

I thought this was not the Varese recording (which was a suite), but the full ballet. I would still love to get a link if anyone has it!
