Having scored both of this year's �Phase Two� movies, Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World, it's safe to say Brian Tyler has established a great relationship with Marvel Studios. The composer even created the Disney-owned company's very own fanfare which will feature with a new logo before every future Marvel Studios production. So, it comes as no huge surprise that Marvel would want Brian Tyler back on board for the penultimate �Phase Two� movie, The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Apparently, he 's already signed on to score the anticipated Marvel sequel, if Film Score Monthly message board user Adam Krysinski is to believe.

Brian Tyler would take over musical arrangement duties from two-time Oscar-nominated composer Alan Silvestri, who's behind The Avengers original score as well as Captain America: The First Avenger. Ironically, Tyler told Tracksounds recently that he used Silvestri's theme from the latter film for a key scene in Thor: The Dark World. Furthermore, the conductor also revealed in the same interview that he has talked with composer Henry Jackman about his score for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Perhaps, their �chat� adds some sort of correlation with (and more legitimacy to) Brian Tyler scoring The Avengers: Age of Ultron. What do you think?

Anyhow, with a new cinematographer in Ben Davis and now a potential composer in Brian Tyler, it seems Marvel and writer/director Joss Whedon are taking Earth's mightiest heroes in a completely different direction, creatively. Of course, the same could be said for the entire �Phase Two� slate. The Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Samuel L. Jackson and James Spader. The anticipated film is set for release on May 1, 2015.

I think Brian Tyler could actually pull it off, and perhaps he could reuse Alan Silvestri's theme, i seriously hope Joss goes with Brian, it would be so epic!!!

Well... the news is now official. I cannot say I'm surprised though, he even scored that TV special they aired a few nights ago! That collaboration has reached new heights, incredibly enough...

I guess he has shown some goodwill to reprise Silvestri's work for Thor, so it's possible that he might not fully scrap his work from the first movie, but I'd also want to see if he retains his individual themes for Thor and Iron Man, and since he seems to be their go-to boy, why not compose new themes for the rest of the characters as well? Marvel has spared no expense so it might as well happen now. All I know is that they better not dare to replace the Incredible Hulk's theme. To date that's one of the best MCU scores, if not the best.

I liked both his scores for Iron Man and Thor: The Dark World. but i also really loved The Avengers theme and score its self. I know its a business but i hate that most movies and sequels get new composers! I really enjoyed Captain America's theme in the First Avenger, and I doubt ill hear it in the Winter Solider :( lol.

It's official now and makes sense seeing how the relationship between Mr. Tyler and Marvel develop over the Phase 2 films. Brian is known to give a nod to former well known themes of films he handles namely his works on Final Destinations, John Rambo, and Thor 2 as an example. Just like Silvestri, Tyler is also a huge action orchestral score guy and if given the right freedom & cohesion with the Director's vision of what the music would sound like, it would be no surprise if it ends up having an epic score fit for the massive ensemble of super characters for Avengers 2.

Tyler's always been one of my favorite composers and i'm confident he can deliver an epic score! Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 were great! I just wish he would also score Guardians of the Galaxy because I 've never heard anything good from Tyler Bates!

Tyler didn't revive anything from Doyle's score. He even stated that at one point. I was grateful for that because I personaly didn't find Doyle's score to my liking the least bit. Every cue he did was practically the same but with tempo changes. I forgot how much I disliked it until I watched Thor 2 again, then tried to watch some of Thor again. He definitely gave a nod to Silvestri which I think he will continue to do. The only thing that concerns me is that all the major scores he's done in the last year or so have very similar themes and melodies. Don't get me wrong I love Brian Tyler's scores. I just hope he approaches new themes for characters that we haven't already heard.,
