I was just wondering because normally whenever I download art I either label it "official" or (if it's a custom cover) with the username of the artist. I guess I'll consider it "official". :) Thanks again!

There are gaps but with the tracks I've looked at in Sound Forge, the gaps aren't atrociously bad like with most of the Zimmer leaks this year and last year.

Yeah absolutely! I just haven't watched the film enough times to really notice each cue which is why I always thought the album just picked a few little snippets from the movie. Is a lot better though. Going to make a few adjustments and take away unwanted cues to make a nice listen.

Me neither, I've only seen it twice. I have a hard time watching it because I think of my little brother who's in the Army right now. But it's still a nice score. I don't know if I'm saying this right, but I'm quite fond of ethnical scores, ones that have a distinct sound of the area in which the film takes place. Like The Last Samurai has an Asian sound. As does At World's End during the Singapore sequences. And Black Hawk Down has a middle eastern (technically African) sound. The first cue on the OST is my favorite - "Somalia 1993 / Hunger is the Weapon". Great cue. Hopefully someone can make a decent film mix with this release.

i agree with the ethnical side of composing. thats one thing hans is very good at, bringing character and setting to his scores. very rarely do composers do this. plus he was one of the first to even use this type of style of composing and many imitate this.

And just as an FYI, to educate anyone out there who is unaware: The film takes place in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Somalia is the East Coast of Africa, it borders Ethiopia and Kenya. If you look at it on a map, it looks like a 7. It is not the Middle East, it is Africa. The Middle East consists of Egypt, Turkey, Iraq, Iran & Saudi Arabia. And yes, while Egypt is part of Africa (something I commonly forget, I always think of Egypt as separate), but it's still the Middle East and Somalia is not. *THE MORE YOU KNOW!!*

i didn't. the only thing took from the commercial was the second part of hunger which was the lossy track on the complete because the sound was bad. maybe i could. but it has to go well. i don't want to lose any flow. if you have any ideas just throw them up.

This sounds great. In lossless would be just as amazing. I have taken to calling it "The Weapon...Hunger Edition" (thanks DAKoftheOTA). It has such a nice ring to it.

thanks mate. I've improved the pace of it now and its a little bit better. The complete score minus the alternates etc is quite repetitive and I am happy its turned out quite good. i won't listen to anything if i think its bad.

thank you very much! glad you are liking it. i taken the track "casualties' as it is present on 'Soldiers Back On / The Mogadishu Mile / Aftermath' so I've cut aftermath out of that track and made it its own. plus I've added a little bit here and there.

i didn't. the only thing took from the commercial was the second part of hunger which was the lossy track on the complete because the sound was bad. maybe i could. but it has to go well. i don't want to lose any flow. if you have any ideas just throw them up.

I've already added leave no man behind but yeah, I'll see how I can make it flow together. I was actually thinking whether to add still reprise actually. The suites aren't a problem as what I have done isn't exactly true to the movie. I know a lot won't like it as they prefer complete but I feel like gladiator it's quite repetitive and boring in parts which work better on screen rather than a standalone listen . I don't want to add many from the commercial as the sound from it is different from the complete score and it would sound inconsistent, but I will see how I can make it work.

There's nothing much wrong with the sound, just a handful of tracks that need the volume adjust to stay consistent with other tracks.

I tried. The problem is that it isn't just "a gap" what I've discovered is it's actually that part of the track is silent. So I can't just "cut out" the silent parts, because the 2 ends don't fit together. Hope that makes sense?

It's the genuine lossless complete score. The ones already on here are fan made expansions which mostly I include rips and sound rally bad.

If you use iTunes at all, it'll recognize these files and can be used to convert them to mp3 or lossy m4a, both of which should be compatible with most phones.

Does anyone else find it kind of strange that the folks over at hans-zimmer.com seem to have ignored this particular leak?

^Apple Lossless is not compatible with Windows Media Player; try foobar or VLC. VLC works with almost every codec out there.

At least that explains it, still annoying though.

you sure its that exact version or is it a different variation which there are a few of on this complete score?

It's the final film mix, cause you can hear how it crossfades into the tracked reprise of the insertion track containing the militia theme (ta da, ta , ta da.....), just up until the pulsing synth.

There is version 1 which i have trimmed 'BHD.3M20Rmx' and joined it with another part of the track which is seamless but you lose about 15 seconds of the cue. then there is version 2 which i used a snippet from 'BHD.3M20' to fill in the gap. the choice is yours.

Please let me know what you all think and if it needs some sort of improvement

Thank you! I the same have had a hard time deciding haha. However I did replace this with the original track on my set. I don't know why I didn't do this before :)

thanks for letting me know about the new edition or "fix" with "trucks under fire". I just replaced the previous one with this one and added ver.2 to the end as a "bonus track". 21 tracks of awesomeness.

For some reason the editors must have decided to remove several layers of instruments from the original recording of 3M20Rmx to produce the final film version posted by Ridley44Lev. I have also noticed things like this in other Hans Zimmer scores, such as Gladiator. It would be interesting to know if the recording studios preserve the original sessions where instruments are isolated into separate tracks.

Agreed. See how the rhythmic piano only comes in later on in the film mix, and the solo trumpet increases and decreases in levels.
