Expanded… What is missing?
cues written for the game, that have been neither used nor featured on the game disc or OSTs
some minor SFX-heavy cues
certain segments from looped tracks
unused music, that I found on the disc, where the source is not clear yet (licensed tracks, temp music – around 32 min.)
cues that are stored in a specific chapter but most probably used elsewhere (around 16 min.)
What type of gamerip is this?
All cues with a 128k bitrate have been extracted directly from the game disc without reencoding. Not a line-in rip.
I placed the cues in the chapter, where the longest rendition of them has been saved.
Redundant cues have been deleted.
Used files from the 256k PSN version where needed. I preferred the game files where possible, since clipping is a problem on the OST.
Should I keep the PSN OST version? Is there anything that is not included here?
Everything is included, so delete it if you want.
Do you know of any plans for a commercial release except the PSN version?
Sony plans on releasing the same album on other platforms (iTunes, Amazon etc.).
There are no plans for a physical disc release, although compilation albums are possible.
The composers plan on releasing a Vol. 2 album sometime in the future.
Lorne Balfe continues posting unreleased cues on his Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/Metrophonics11).
Questions about naming convention, tagging etc.
I used original cue names where possible. Most titles are made up by myself, though.
I included composer credits where possible. The OST is not a reliable source (incorrect track titles, incorrect composer credits), so I skipped that.
Are you planning on updating this rip?
Yes, I plan on replacing looped tracks with complete versions, replacing cues with higher bitrates counterparts, adding composer credits, original cue titles and whatever is hitting the web.
Depending on the overall extent of the changes, I decide, whether I upload a vol. 2 archive or an entire new rip.
What should I do, if I notice something on your rip, find new music, more sites, composer interviews with details etc.?
Contact me immediately via replying to this thread or PM.
The game has been released on PS4 and is available soon on PC. Are you expecting a better bitrate than 128k?
No. I checked the PC demo version and the bitrate is untouched, so I don’t expect a better bitrate for the full game.
Will you do Detroit: Become Human as well?
It uses a different sound engine, so I don’t know yet. But I’d like to do this as well.UPDATE 1
download update 1
delete chapters 08,09,10,22,28 entirely from the previous rip
move the contents of update 1 to the rip

Beyond: Two Souls Gameplay Walkthrough – Part 3 "Welcome To The CIA" (Let’s Play, Playthrough) – YouTube (http://youtu.be/XmnflvTyJWs?t=2m30s)
Damn, I played the game three times through trying every single combination possible and I never saw that particular scene.
Holy crap, that’s it! I have a cue I thought was used there, but I guess I was wrong. Searched hours for this scene on YT, but couldn’t find it, so thanks a lot. There’s a reason I mentioned you on the artworks 😉
By the way: I will send you the cues I’d like to hear your opinion about ASAP.
Damn, I played the game three times through trying every single combination possible and I never saw that particular scene.
Don’t worry, I didn’t knew you could make a guy fall to his death in the embassy chapter either until I saw it on YT. Who knows which possibilities I missed on my walkthroughs as well.
Highly appreciated!
Thanks a bunch!

And nice covers Goback!
C’ mon, you did an awesome work on artworks and its credits, thanks FML 😉
You truly deserve the like… artwork… and credits!
I thought the art on your original post was the official cover! lol. Nice work. 🙂
That was my goal 😉
The FAQ should answer your question: I included composer credits where possible.
The first update includes small corrections, few added cues and most prominently the material, that folker84 and I couldn’t deal with. Like 28 min. of music that wasn’t licensed from audionetwork and not used in the game, but still can be found on the disc. I leave it to your imagination, what kind of material this is and what its purpose might be…
There is also a folder called "various score cues" with over 14 min. of material – original music, that has been stored in a specific chapter, but used elsewhere (or not at all). If you find out, where these have been used in the game, please let me know!
I’m sure that was a conscious decision, it certainly was on my artwork.
Left it out on purpose, the producer’s name is more suited in the inside or back cover.
Using my memory and some hard thinking I also managed to find out where most of the "various score cues" are used in the game. Here is a list with my findings (I made up the titles – not official!):
-0003: My Imaginary Friend – The Photo (used after you discovered and opened up the hidden shoebox and pick up the photo)
-0004: Hauntings – Follow Me (plays when following Laura’s ghost to Nathan’s office)
-0022: Dragon’s Hideout – Aiden Alone (used when Jodie and Ryan are arrested and you are taking control over Aiden)
-0036: Night Session – Fairy Tales (plays when Jodie tries to pick up the book)
-0058: Like Other Girls – Taking Over Cole (plays when Cole picks up the phone just after Aiden smashed up the room)
-0139: Epilogue – Life & Zoey (used in the Life-Zoey ending)
-0146: Briefing – For The Mission’s Sake (plays when using Cold dialogue option on Ryan)
-0147: Briefing – Don’t Talk (plays when using Curt or Distant dialogue option on Ryan)
-0201: Black Sun – The Final Run (used just when Jodie, Ryan and Cole leave the last elevator and sprint to the Condenser zone)
-0216: The Mission – I Must Go (plays when Jodie leaves Salim behind after the car crash, you had this uploaded to YouTube once but deleted it for some reason and it is not included in ‘The Mission’ chapter folder either)
I checked and verified all of these using the game, so it should be correct. Also I’m pretty damn sure 0049 is used somewhere in the game, but my memory is failing me on that one. On the other hand I’m almost certain 0120C, 0161B, DLC1 and DLC7 are completely unused and don’t appear anywhere in the game.
Finally I know where the cues stored in the "Hunted (probably source)" folder are coming from. They were used in the alpha version of the Hunted scene, which was used as a vertical slice and for presenting the game at E3 2012. It was likely composed by Corbeil or someone in QD’s audio department for prototyping the scene and getting a feeling for the mood they were aiming for. Of course it’s also better to show the press something that has music included. You can hear the "0107H3+0107H2" cue here for instance: Beyond: Two Souls – Gamescom 2012 Off-screen Gameplay – YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0Xu8t1ZbAI)
That’s all for now 😀

Thank you very much Hamers! I’ll double-check this and update the rip. During the ripping process, I found most of those tracks, but because they were stored in a different location than where they were used, I isolated them again. Some cues seem contain redundant material (I Must Go), not sure yet what to do with those segments. They were probably mixed into the cue and not recorded that way.
You can hear the "0107H3+0107H2" cue here for instance: Beyond: Two Souls – Gamescom 2012 Off-screen Gameplay – YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0Xu8t1ZbAI)
And most importantly a segment of 0104B at the ending cutscene. Sounds too good for the usual temp stuff QD is using, maybe it’s Corbeil’s stuff 🙂
I will love u forever for posting this gamerip of Beyond. Was let down by the game, but was praying there was someone like u to make available all the hours of amazing extra music that wasn’t on the official release, esp. the various slow versions of Jodie’s Theme, etc. I’ve got a computer crammed with OSTs, but this was one of my most anticipated & it didn’t disappoint. I got the rip before Xmas & have just gotten the first update. Am I to take it that, "material that folker84 and I couldn’t deal with. Like 28 min. of music that wasn’t licensed from audionetwork and not used in the game" is included in the "Probably Source" folders? I also take it as red that u intend to add to the two empty folders currently on the list…?
Anyway, I’ll be checking back & looking forward to future updates from u & this post! Thank you a million times, u amazing human being! Btw, thanks to those guys who created some cover art for the rip too. Great!
Yes.
I also take it as red that u intend to add to the two empty folders currently on the list…?
Those empty folders "Separation" and "Old Friends" don’t feature any new material, You can delete those if you want. I included them because they might have composed something for those scenes that wasn’t used and Balfe might feature it on Youtube in the future, but he doesn’t seem to upload anything.
Blame QuanticDream 😛
The ID3 tags are the cue names, the filenames are FunnyML’s custom names. I had to go through and manually add his names in the ID3 tags through iTunes.
No problem. What do you mean with redundant material? The track definitely plays exactly the same way in the final game, from the first second to the last second. The background noise overshadows the first rather tense half for the most part, so in the game you mostly only hear the calm part where Jodie hugs Salim. But it is all there and the cue is unique to this scene. Are you referring to the fact that it seems to be put together by different other cues and not recorded in one go? This is probably true, but since the second half can’t be found anywhere else (some cues have similar elements, but are way shorter) it definitely should be included. It has unique material. There are others that have identical parts too like the first half of Good Night is pretty much the Mother and Daughter cue. But I think that’s fine as well 🙂
And most importantly a segment of 0104B at the ending cutscene. Sounds too good for the usual temp stuff QD is using, maybe it’s Corbeil’s stuff 🙂
Could be yeah. Funny enough all the Beta and test scenes are actually included on the disc, but you need CFW to access them using the QA menu. Probably the reason why the music wasn’t deleted. You can see some of it here Beyond: Two Souls – DEBUG / Cheat menu (PS3) – YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubPq77zE13E) and here Beyond: Two Souls (PS3) – Sandbox sound mode DEBUG – YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VwRpuGNnWk)
Thanks so much! It so cool! but 128 kbps….
This is still kinda shocking to me. Was Heavy Rain also this low? Yeah I know the game is already huge, but doubling that would have still easily fit onto the disc…
Yes, that’s what I meant. I isolated it for the case the other parts were written for other scenes as well. I removed countless other cues that had redundant material only. That Good Night/Mother And Daughter material is present in some more cues, I planned on moving them all together to one scene, but didn’t do it in the end.

Yes, Heavy Rain had the same bitrate. More to this when I start the rip. I think Fahrenheit had 96k files, so thank God they didn’t stick to thiat 😛
I also noticed some tracks were missing (could not find them in any of the material, I figured they could be in subsequent scenes, but no):
– at the end of Homeless: Jodie wandering on the road before getting "arrested" by the cop from the prologue.
– during The Mission: Jodie reaching the Zenakhi Hotel
– near the end of The Mission: when Salims comes in and Jodie realizes the soldiar was his father (it pretty much corresponds to the beginning of the Beyond track).
– during The Briefing and The Dragon’s Hideout: the moment when Nathan explains the deal to Jodie, and the moment when Jodie and Ryan are in the submarine on their way to the base (it corresponds to the beginning of the track Infraworld, but with some variations).
– during The Dragon’s Hideout: when Jodies runs away from the big snake entity underwater, and tries to escape the base running in the halls (they each correspond to a part of the Infraworld track, but with some variations).
Any idea where they could be?
Btw, thank you sooooo much for all the work you’ve done here!
You are probably correct about 0146 used during The Mission as well, but that last statement is definitely wrong ^^ Listen closely:
Cold: This (http://youtu.be/lRw7izlQDuY?t=2m17s)
Distant: This (http://youtu.be/LAupbX2RT5U?t=7m17s)
Cold is 0146 and Distant is 0147 😉
0146 is Cold, and 0147 is Curt and Distant.
This soundtrack is so full of subtleties, it is sometimes hard to spot the little difference in the tracks, but I think we got these ones right 😉

Yeah, it’s kinda amazing that they have 3 unique cues just for 4 dialogue options (aggressive has its own SFX heavy cue as well). The total run time is insane anyway with almost 4 hours of unique music. That’s pretty much half the time it takes to complete the game. You could play the OST non-stop and would only have to use each track twice. That’s pretty damn impressive.
– at the end of Homeless: Jodie wandering on the road before getting "arrested" by the cop from the prologue.
Yes, I remember that being in there some time, so I must have deleted it for a reason. Are you sure it’s not used elsewhere, too?
– during The Mission: Jodie reaching the Zenakhi Hotel
Can you name the exact time in a Youtube video? If you mean the cue that starts at 4:17 in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8C7b3RAtzI), it’s from the Norah chapter.
– near the end of The Mission: when Salims comes in and Jodie realizes the soldiar was his father (it pretty much corresponds to the beginning of the Beyond track).
Condenser Destroyed from the Black Sun chapter?
– during The Briefing and The Dragon’s Hideout: the moment when Nathan explains the deal to Jodie, and the moment when Jodie and Ryan are in the submarine on their way to the base (it corresponds to the beginning of the track Infraworld, but with some variations).
1) From the chapter "Briefing"? I can hear only one cue in the scene, that is present on the rip.
2) Sub: I don’t hear any variations, sorry.
– during The Dragon’s Hideout: when Jodies runs away from the big snake entity underwater, and tries to escape the base running in the halls (they each correspond to a part of the Infraworld track, but with some variations).
I always checked the cues n the spectral view for dfferences, and didn’t come into any.
I’ve listened to all the tracks from the rip, and could not find it, but maybe I missed it.

Yes, that’s the one, but I do not see which track of the Norah chapter it corresponds to:
– Saint John’s Hospital is when she sneaks into the 7th floor (it also appears in The Mission, when getting into the first hideout, before leaving for the cathedral).
– Norah’s room, well, when she enters her room.
– Norah and Mother and Daughter, when she speaks with her, and then leaves the room.
– Blackout when she gets hit on the head.
Condenser Destroyed from the Black Sun chapter?
Yes, that’s it, the 2nd version! Great, thank you very much 🙂
I’ll add it to the Mission chapter since there are several variations of the same track.
1) From the chapter "Briefing"? I can hear only one cue in the scene, that is present on the rip.
2) Sub: I don’t hear any variations, sorry.
In the Briefing chapter, there are these cues:
– when Jodie wakes up in Nathan’s office (which corresponds to Jodie in bed from Hauntings).
– when Jodie sees the condenser they developped (The New Condenser)
– when Nathan explains the deal to Jodie, that she’s the only one who really knows the Infraworld (missing).
– when McGrath explains the mission (The Briefing)
– when Jodie reacts to seeing Ryan (various cues possible – 0146 and 0147 from the various score cues folder)
And in the submarine, that’s the same as the one played for the deal.
I always checked the cues n the spectral view for dfferences, and didn’t come into any.
I thought that maybe they were real stand-alone cues, not only parts from the Infraworld track cut and played for the scene, and that they could be in there somewhere, like a 40-second track or something.
But maybe not.
Thank you very much for checking, it is very nice of you 🙂
I think I remember this too from somewhere else.
Yes, that’s the one, but I do not see which track of the Norah chapter it corresponds to:

– Blackout when she gets hit on the head.
FunnyML made a little mistake there. It’s "World Of Ice" from the Dragon’s Hideout chapter.
In the Briefing chapter, there are these cues:
– when Jodie wakes up in Nathan’s office (which corresponds to Jodie in bed from Hauntings).
– when Jodie sees the condenser they developped (The New Condenser)

I think this is just the beginning from the Infraworld track. Maybe slightly changed, but not by much. Most of these cues are exactly as long as the scene they were composed for, so I doubt you will find extended cues from there.
Oh, thank you, Hamers! Indeed, it is 🙂

Yeah, I guess you’re right. I was not looking for extended versions of them, but just the part used on its own with a proper beginning and ending, but they must have sampled them from the whole Infraworld track. Because, in the office deal scene, the cue has more violin, and much less synth. Too bad, we can’t get it.
And since you both are so good at spotting the cues, I can’t find where the cue "Race To The Sub" (not the failed or succeeded ones) comes from. I’ve watched several walkthroughs and I spotted the two other versions (the one where Jodie wonders where Ryan is – the succeeded one -, and the one where Jodie passes out and Ryan carries her to the sub – the failed one), but the, let’s say, "regular" one, I can’t figure out! It is bugging me because this track is really nice, I wish I could recall where it’s from…
Also, at the beginning of Black Sun, there’s a cue when McGrath gives his little speech, and I can’t seem to find it, even though I’m pretty sure I heard it somewhere else…

That cue was present standalone (I forgot where they placed it, either the Sub level or in the Briefing chapter), but I cross-checked everything when I did the rip with the spectral view and it was the same cue, the same mix and everything, so I left it out.

I triggered this somehow. I am not sure about this, but I think it had less to do with failing the QTEs and more like not running forward. After a while, the scene goes on anyway and the cue should be triggered.

Should be #0100 from the condenser chapter. Haven’t checked though.
Alright, I see. I’ll try finding a walkthrough where it gets triggered, but it is quite difficult sometimes. The player does not always try all the various possibilities, just to see what happens if he/she does that.
They’re not curious enough ^^

Indeed! Thank you so much! I knew I heard it somewhere else. There are so many cues that it ends up all mixed up in my head ^^
But yes, that’s the cue at the end of Condenser, when Jodie fails.
If I can bug you one last time (so sorry about that, I’m trying to organize the cues in chronological order), there are three cues I can’t seem to find in a walkthrough, and maybe you managed to trigger them: choosing Ryan (piano overlay), Jodie’s Suite 1 + Jodie’s Story 2 and Jodie’s Suite 1 + Jodie’s Suite 2.
I can’t find the piano version in any ending where she chooses Ryan. As for the other cues, in the Alone ending, I can hear Jodie’s Suite 1, but not Jodie’s Story 2, and I can’t find Jodie’s Suite 1 + 2 anywhere.
But, once again, thank you soooo much for all the work you’ve done 🙂
Thanks to you, I’ve been able to get a pretty good and complete soundtrack (I’ve renamed all numbered cues with a character line, so I can remember when they’re played, just missing the 3 mentioned above). I’ve reached around 160 tracks (keeping out all the triggers, and other short fight sounds).
When you see that the official soundtrack only has 16!
I’m really appreciative of your work, for we could not have enjoyed all these fine cues without it 🙂
Sounds tedious, since the cues are in chronologic order already 🙂 If you heard a cue used in a different place, it has not been composed for that scene.

I forgot where Choosing Ryan (Piano Overlay) has been used in the end for, sorry. Might have been in one of the scenes with Ryan, lile in the end of Drago’s Hideout.
Jodie’s Suite 2, like many other cues, has not been used in the game, so you can’t find it. I took it from the OST.
A lot of redundant material here, but I didn’t want to mess around with the quality by editing the suites.
No, I meant in chronological order within a chapter. The songs within each folder are sorted alphabetically, so I changed all names for the songs to be played in the chronological order within the chapter. Yes, I am too much of a perfectionist sometimes ^^
So I’ll classify these 3 cues as bonus tracks, it’s easier that way. Thanks again for everything! 🙂
Turns out there is an insanely long timer running in the background. If you do nothing for like 10 minutes Jodie will get more and more anxious and eventually can’t stand the pain anymore. You trigger a completely different scene where she cries in pain and you have to get up and leave the bathroom (the scene with the spy waitress never plays). The dialogue with Ryan also changes. During that scene cue 0022 plays instead of 0021. So you can probably title 0021 "The Embassy (Success)" and 0022 "The Embassy (Failed)".
There are really a lot of "hidden" or optional sequences in this game with completely different music each time. Now I’m wondering if all the other cues that you couldn’t figure out are also used in the chapters you extracted them from. I found them elsewhere sure and made my post about it, but maybe they are used in their original location too. On the other hand I’m pretty sure that for example the cue 0004 is definitely not used in My Imaginary Friend, but in Hauntings instead. I don’t think I missed any optional music in those chapters. Mhm…
Exactly.

Nice find!
Anyways, incredible job. Thank you very much!
0206 should be stored in the main menu folder already. Did you update the rip properly?
Somehow I can’t reconcile with the idea, that they composed a piece just for the menu 😉
0097 (Chapter 10, Condenser) is the stinger that plays at the very end of the chapter, right at the start of the cutscene when Jodie shuts down the Condenser. I was playing earlier today and I heard it loud and clear.
0099 and 0100 are both fail soundtracks, one for when you fail during the freezer and Jodie goes back to Nathan, but I can’t tell which is which.
Also, I’m wondering if 0050 and 0052 (both in 11, Homeless) could be when you’re in hospital finding a way to escape the CIA? That’s probably not right, but I’ll check it out when I play again later tonight.
I don’t have the score at hand, so I’m guessing here. Both cues should be from the scene where Jodie escapes the burning house. I know I placed them at the end of the chapter for some reason 😉
The scene in the hospital you mentioned had music in it, but the folder for the scene didn’t, so whatever music is playing there in the background is stored in (and therefore probably composed for) another scene.
Thank you for clarifying 🙂
but guys, if you capture audio from the game, why the hell you do that in mp3 128 ? this amazing soundtrack doesnt deserves that crap quality !
We’re not capturing audio, these are the extracts. For whatever reason, all music from David Cage’s games are ‘low quality’.
Correct.
Honestly, unless you’ve got some godly audio system and incredible hearing, the quality is great.

I’m sure if you click on my name and then select "Find latest started threads" on the left side, you’ll find my gamerip of Heavy Rain.
You can also find almost all the cues from Heavy Rain on my YT channel here (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF5C24F1B1D33A73B) in case the download link has expired.
ok, and exist this same for Heavy Rain ?
Not yet. It’s a digital line-in rip. I already started working on a new version based on the ripping technique I used here on Beyond, but only finished half of the stuff. To be clear, the quality won’t be much better (Heavy Rain used 128k MP3s). But the filesize will be much smaller and I am able to present some cues, that are not played in their entirety in the game, like the long cue from the shrink chapter or Ethan’s cab escape scene.

Are you referring to the expanded bootleg? All three Filesmelt links shared by RR99i here (message #154) (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/2010-%7C-normand-corbeil-%7C-heavy-rain-73911/7.html#post2260889) work, just tested them. They might take a while to load, but the archives are still there.
Thanks!
QuanticDream really has a bad history in that regard. Even today, games like The Order only have lossy music. The lossless days seem to be over, I’m hoping for a renaissance 😉
QD have confirmed the PS4 release back in June (Digital download for Beyond and Heavy Rain on PSN, or both bundled on disc.)
Exact release dates are going to be announced soon, their last tweet was late September. https://twitter.com/QUANTIC_DREAM/status/646690782016053248
If you could take another look at the game again it would be brilliant. Thanks for your efforts.

I will, but even if they upgraded the bitrate (which I doubt, the games are huge already), there is no way to extract it properly.
There isn’t.
That’s the thing with Quantic Dream. They always say their products are high quality. But I don’t get why the music is neglected.
One question : Is it – easy- to do a music rip of the PS4 "remastered" version ??
cause.. well 128 kbps .. 🙁

There’s no way to extract the files, so a line-in recording is the only possible way for now. However, I doubt they increased the bitrate for the PS4 version.
I guess I’ll wait for the release of this OST….
