The same happened in his movie "Turn Curtain": There's a scene in which the hero (Paul Newman) is fighting the bad guy, ultimately succeeding in killing him, and this scene is happening completely without music, but Bernard Herrmann wrote a score for this scene (which was not used, after all, because this was the final collaboration between Hitch and Benny, and Hitch rejected Benny's score, which was not completed anymore. The score was finally given to John Addison).
