Let the record show that this will be the Man of Steel thread to end the 10 trillion MoS threads here on the shrine (please God, oh please), EXCEPT: The Sessions, Complete and or Expanded Score. I know a lot of people have been after this one, and I finally found the time to rip it this afternoon. This album was a bit of a bitch, there are pops in the opening of "Look to the Stars" (and in other tracks as well), and that really irked me. I cleaned both the discs and the stylus multiple times, but it just didn't do the trick. So, should anyone feel compelled to take this and clean up the tracks as best they can, have at it. Like all my other rips, this is raw directly from the vinyl. I did not tweak any of it in any way. Also, MEGA has been giving me problems all day, so that's why I went with Sendspace. Enjoy.

I wish. That would be fucking awesome. I've searched for Sherlock, Pirates, A&D, Da Vinci, Madagascar, The Lone Ranger, and many others. What I have seen are The Lion King, Black Rain, Days of Thunder, Backdraft, A World Apart, Cool Runnings and a few other older scores.

Do you have any idea if there are any vinyl releases for "The Twilight Saga - New Moon" Score by Desplat floating around?

No problem, happy to finally get this one posted as so many people were requesting it. Regarding the Deluxe Edition, I just really wish "Earth" and "Hans' Original Sketchbook" were included.
Oblivion and a little bonus something will be up later. Like MoS, Oblivion isn't the Deluxe unfortunately

Yes, and I've seen several on eBay. There's one on there now that's signed by the Maestro himself. I think it's listed at $350 or $399? Been on there for a few months, no bids. I had Inception over the summer and sold it. Made a $100 profit. Gladiator and The Dark Knight are also hard to find, but they're not as limited as BB. I wish someone had a rip and could post it. I'm dying to hear what it sounds like

I've seen one for 150$, one at Priceminister is at 44E though. The Ebay reflex is not always the best. ;-) There's a bunch out there at very different prices.

Yes. If you ask me, $350-$400 is way overpriced for a BB vinyl, even if it is signed by Zimmer, regardless if he's my favorite composer or not. I would never pay that

Thanks for the info. I really wish we could edit the titles of our own threads, it makes no fucking sense. If I can edit the actual thread, why the hell can't I edit the title? I'll get Jessie or Sanico to change it right away. Did you also catch how I have it labeled "96000kHz" when it should actually be "96kHz"?

Can't disagree there. It does feel weird hearing vinyl crunch, pops and cracks on a film score, but I find it can provide an alternate experience that can be enjoyable.

Oh yes, Terminator... totally! Brad Friedel and his creeping sci-fi 80s/90s underscores :D

I didn't notice it cut short, I've still only seen it twice. That may be my favorite scene in the film. The whole conversation between Clark and Thomas Kent. "You're the answer, son. You're the answer to our way alone in the universe"

Thanks but why this bitrate ? The loss of the rip is higher when you are using 16 bit instead of 24 bit. To save size, it is better to take 24bit/44.1 kHz instead of 16bit/96 kHz. With 96 kHz you can can represent 30000 Hz with 44,1 kHz only 20000 Hz. But a human ear can only hear until rundabout 15000 Hz. But with 24 bit instead of 16 bit the hearable resolution from the file is higher!
Edit:
In terms of the restoration I can help. But what about your used hardware? The Rig, cardridge, phonostage.... The used Software ? Are you using ASIO or not ? I have restored and ripped many vinyls. But this takes many hours. Recording a vinyl is not the problem, the resoration is the real work. Most raw vinyl rips you will find in the web especially on russian websides are are unfortunately not worth to be restored. Most of the rips are too bad. So tell me something about your hardware and do this rip in 24/96. If you want a sample from me just pm me.

Thanks for the reup. Though listening to this makes me wish I had nabbed the normal FLACs while they were still up. Not a fan of vinyl pops and crackles. And with that, I don't see how this can possibly be definitive. I mean, the overall quality can be as high as you want, but those pops and crackles overlap some of the music and don't really fit at all with this score.
Not to say I don't appreciate it, you did fantastic work, but that it just can't be definitive.

I'm commenting on what he stated in the OP, that it's the MoS topic to end all other MoS topics (excluding complete/sessions). Seems like a way of stating it's the superior version, when the pops and crackles make it impossible for it to be definitive.
I also can't find any deluxe ST flacs with working links.
