howdy, can someone please tell me where, when and how you pick up yuffie and vincent to join your party? i have some of their weapons so i figures they should be in my party and that i missed them earlier. right now im on disk 2 in the begining where you follow sepiroth into the snowy area. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks:)

To get Yuffie, search the forests around Junon and Fort Condor, and sooner or later you'll run into the "Unknown Ninja". Beat her and the screen will change to your attack party and Yuffie. (DON'T open the menu or use the save point or she'll run away with some of your money) Talk to her and answer her like this:

Yuffie: "You spikey-headed jerk! One more time, let's go one more time!"
You say: Not Interested.
Talk to her again.
Yuffie: "You're pretty scared of me, huh!?"
You say: ......Petrified.
She'll start to walk away but...
Yuffie: "I'm really gonna leave! REALLY!!"
You Say: Wait a second!
Yuffie: "You want me to go with you?"
You Say: That's right.
Yuffie: "All right! I'll go with you!"
You say: ......Let's hurry on.

Name her whatever and there you go. You now have Yuffie in your team!

to get vincent, take the key from the safe that contained the Odin summoning materia in Nibelheim. After defeating the Boss, Lost Number, walk down into the basement. Open the door that was previously locked (right before you enter the room with Sephiroth). Talk to Vincent until you talk about Sephiroth, then leave the room and start to go back up to the Shinra Mansion. Just before you get away Vincent will come and ask if he'll meet Hojo, then he'll join hoping to kill Hojo.

Yuffie can also be acquired during when Cloud isn't in the party. The dialogue changes accordingly.

The # for the safe is (right) 36 (left) 10 (right) 59 and (right) 97.

thanks for the info guys. ill have to take a side trip but im sure its worth it.

on another note, how would u rate these two as members of the party? r they woth goin after and to have in the group or should i just leave them be.

Of course! Vincent is more cool than Barret (Ughhh), I always use Cloud, Nanaki, Vincent after Aeris death. Plus Vincent limit break are very cool!! (Chaos is the best). And Yuffie is powerful so huh..you miss hell of a lot if you don't get them.

P.S Don't forget to visit Lucrecia Falls in disc 2 and in disc 3 if not you will miss Vincent most powerful weapon and limit break.

Vincent, you definatley want Vincent no matter what.

Yuffie is cool, just try not to take her with you. The side quest is a pain in the @$$.

Two more things:

1 - Yuffie appears in all the forests (I think...) But it is definatly not just the ones on the first continent.

2 - You can get Vincents manual and ultimate weapon (Chaos and Death Sentence) on disk 3. At least on PSX. I've done it! Go to the lake on the second continent (with Costa de Sol.) Using the Submarine (underwater passage somewhere,) a special chocobo, or the highwind, land on the ground to the left of the waterfall (as you look at it.) Walk into waterfall with vincent in your party. Flashback to stuff. Bugger off for a while, then come back. It can be done on the same disk.

one thing to add... you have to fight ten battles before you come back or it wont work. just fight the midgar zolom or something like that to get it done quick.

but it is more fun if you find it out ourself doing the puzzle (read the note left by Hojo in the most front-left room.
