Which one is better Final Fantasy X or Final Fantasy X-2?

I probably think FFX2 cause it's al girl power and stuff.

FFX is great in its own way, but for me, it has to be FFX-2.

Not because of the girl power so much, but because I thought they really outdid themselves and made a sequel that was just as good if not better than the original game. Great battle system, loved the freedom of being able to move about the world, and lots of fun things to do! Sure, there was the serious stuff as well, but it's important to have fun!

The thing that really sent over-the-top for me was New Game Plus. Absolutely brilliant.

ffx-2 was a different than other ff games being a ff game with girls only mainly and the new game plus was just perfect trying to get 100% would be impossible without it though

well done square-enix keep up the good work

FF10 has a best storyline but the battle system of FFX-2 is way best than FFX's and I liked very much the dresspheres systems, and of course I liked the New game plus! So its X-2 all the way!!

I like FFX-2 alittle better because it had a more happier storyline and it wasn't about sadness and it was about more exciting adventures of collecting dresspheres and I'm a collector of things myself!

x-2 for me because the storyline was better than FFX to me, and that you don't have to go through that damn spheregrid again........that was so complicated.

I like both games, but FFX comes out on top for me.

I played X-2 wanting to get 100% completion in one play through, since I wanted to know that it was actually possible, and that I did it. Unlike FFX, I can't seem to play it all again. I've fully completed FFX four times. With X-2, I completed it fully in one play-through, then did a quick play-through to gain anything I missed. I couldn't be bothered with all those missions again.

As for the battle systems, I like both. I like planning my attacks, I also like the more free and fast paced battle system of X-2. The changing of dresspheres made for interesting tactics. In the end, I can't decide between the two, I just know that the best battle system would be a combination of the two (Grandia II/Xtreme).

I won't go into the storyline. For me X-2 ruined X. Shuyin, Lenne and Vegnagun just didn't feel like a good sequel to me. It made Tidus, Yuna and Sin unimportant.

I prefer the sphere grid to the dressphere system. I prefer overdrives to special dresspheres. Although both systems allow freedom in what abilities you want to learn, you're stuck with the levelling system in X-2. I prefer developing the characters in my own way. Once you get to lvl. 99, that's it. Stick on some accessories and hope for the best. I prefer working further to power up your characters and Aeons.

FFX-2 was mission-based. Completely different from any other FF. It's not that I prefer linear games, but that they made a mission-based game through a linear game. All the areas were immediately available, and some areas were totally gone (e.g. macalania temple). There were also new areas, which, although good, also made me question why they just so happened to be there and not two years ago.

I can't really compare the games as just games since one is a sequel of another and because of that I prefer FFX.

I didn't think so. I thoght it was cool because it looked like Yuna and Tidus were a reincarnation of Lenne and Shuyin.

That is also one of the many things I didn't like. I understand why they do look like that, but I don't like it. I don't like quite a bit of the story because of what it does to FFX.

I think FF-X was a lot better. It has a good storyline, and is more dramatic.... :)

FF-X-2 had too many mini games and sidequests in there. If someone likes that, this will be the better game. But I want a good RPG story, not thousends of mini games.

I didn't like their permanent happieness either. Tidus wasn't there anymore, but Yuna was acting like 'Who cares, it'll be fine to see him on the sphere....'.

The thing with Vegnagun was a good idea, but not dramatic enough.

It was fun to play, but the storyline dissapointed me! :(

Well, my opinion. ;)

Well, I prefer the battle system in X-2.

But the story of X-2 doesn't really stand up without X. All the things that made me enjoy it were because of events in X.

If that makes any sense at all.

Final Fantasy X

It had an awesome story-line, great characters, awesome battle system, i didn't really like the Dress-spheres, they got annoying since i had to keep switching to get a certain one

so I stick with FFX

I like FFX for the storyline and cuz of the wide selection of characters.

On the other hand I like X-2 cuz of the battle system and the Dresssphere system.

So I'll go with FFX.

Final Fantasy X was good because the storyline was interesting and the game was just flat out fun to play.

FFX-2 was a little better because the battle system was faster and the sidequests added to the story's interest.

So, therefore, it'd be X-2 for me.

You are all a bunch of fools if you think X2 is better than X, can't you see what they did too Yuna? they changed her too much, personallity, face, clothes everything... although I can't deny it's all sexy and all, it diluted the perfection that was Yuna, the creaters got lazy and they didn't provide the magic from FFX. If you will let the perfection die like that than as I said you are all fools. And also, the gameplay was just a distraction from the magic they threw away. Who cares about game play, all I care about is that they don't ruin more beautiful stories like they did in FFX2

Agent0042

Bull. The creators didn't get lazy at all. They provided a great game rich with story and new content. I saw if anything, Yuna only became stronger from Final Fantasy X-2.

Definitely FFX. X-2 doesnt even come close. I hated a lot of stuff in X-2. Example. Music (the worst i the series), the story (the game isnt actually focused on Yuna's search for Tidus like what the plot says. It based on doing missions..and most of them are trash). The FMVs, not as fantastic as those in FFX (there are some fmvs where Yuna really looked funny (like in the normal ending fmv, when she's atop Celsius. That really disappointed me cos I found her very lovely in FFX). And there are only 11 fmvs. Geez The only thing I like about it are the dresspheres. That's it! No more, no less. I really hated X-2 (no offense meant to its fans). FFX is one of the greatest FF games ever created on the other hand. Great characters, stroyline, battle system and most of all, jawdropping fmvs.

I liked FFX much better. There were a lot of people saying that FFX was too linear, so I believe that's why Square-Enix made FFX-2. X-2 is anti-linear so it's kind of the opposite of X, and therefore they showed the world "this is what happens when you make an FF with non linearism."

I didn't like the sidequests, like that operation monkey... the name says it all, it sucks dude like in FFX it was like the end of the pilgrimage and it was all full of suspense cuz we don't know what's gonna happen to Yuna at the time, but in FFX2, you walk around pairing up monkeys to make babies??? trash... and I thought that although you can go pretty much wherever and do stuff unless you follow the story line the game got really boring, you could do the sidequests but they sucked, and in the end you still go after the spheres in Besaid and Zanarkand, then in Kilika. than you return it to one group or the other, if it wasn't linear they should have made it so you could give it to some random person or not give it back at all, you get robbed either way, you get outfits from Gagazet, Bikanel, and Djose Highroad, you break into that blond slut's house, you go to all the temples... blah blah blah, the sidequests are good till they run out than what? follow gameplay that's why it sucks. so agent 0042, you think that bull is better? let's see um... selling concert tickets? getting monkeys to make love? go out and dig in the sand? play a game of Clue on who screwed up machines? you think that's better... damn how old are you 5?

Agent0042

The monkey mission sucked, but it didn't take too long if you used a guide for it. The rest was great. Oh, and I don't have to take "damn how old are you 5?" from somebody who can't even bother to put in more than a few punctuation marks and capitalize the first letter of their sentences.

Here is what i think and some of you might agree with this or not...
When FFx came out it was a a bomb, totaly different game style and everything a sphere grid, character changes within battles not to mention first FF to hit PS2 and then FFx-2 came which of couse everytone thought it would be like an expansion and may features would stay the same but as you all know that total bull crap...only 1 party of 3 people, we see the spheres again but no grid...kinda makes me think of FF7 with all the spheres and abilities, and not to mention The active game style that pissed many people off at the begining but in fact its kinda great now cause you have to keep up...some plus points are that the game is so huge, its full of side quests and minigames and its impossible to finish the shole game by just playing it once...so to sumerize all of that above....FFX-2 is better :D

Final Fantasy X is defenitely better. You know, since I'm a girl too,I'd love to have a game where female power rules! But when I actually played the game I wanted...I didn't like it at all...Yuna is pretty irritating,Rikku acts like a baby as usual(I love Rikku but she is getting on my nerves sometimes),thank God Paine exists...I've played all Final Fantasy games that came out after 1997,but to be honest only Final Fantasy 7 made me feel that strong emotions...And Final Fantasy X in the end...When Tidus dissapeared...When Yuna said 'I love you'...sniff...Whaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree. I liked X much more than I liked X-2 because it had a good love story mixed in with everything else. It made the game so much more realistic, without the love story it would have been another straight forward fighting game where all you have to do is defeat some out of control monster.

I agree with that one hundred per cent! There is so much to do in both games but X-2 doesn't really have the same kind of memory if you know what I mean. Like, its a good game but there are a lot more memorable moments in FFX like when Yuna teaches Tidus to laugh . =)

Okay FFX was very cool I absolutly love playing with Auron (this sounds really wrong >_<!!) and Lulu (She's like Paine a little bit)

But FFX-2 is just TOTAL ass-kicking girl power!!!! Charley's Angels who?? o_O?
Some reasons
- The Dress-speres (the dresses and how they change into them).
- Paine!!
- Baralai
- Gippal
- Shuyin
- Baralai
- Lenne
- The coolest songs ever!!! (real emotion & 1000 words)
- Oh Baralai & Gippal ^_~*

But both have very good storylines...I'm usually not a fan of these kind (romance) of stories, but I'm just Super-Uber in love with these 2 games ^_^
So much...I just bought FFX International and FFX-2 International!!! =-O

I think that while X-2 isn't quite the epic that FFX was, it is still a very authentic and fine RPG. Once you get over the Japenese kookiness, you really begin to appreciate more. Whilst some scenes remind you of a mix of Charlie's Angels and Sailor Moon, others make you also follow the story and realise that this game is good for several things such as the semi real time battle engine for hardcore fast paced combat, the polished graphics and fixed clipping issues, multiple endings, and the addition of so many side quests and mini games which equate to majority of FFX's playing time, so the game is just as big.

I think that both games have both their strengths and weaknesses, and sometimes FFX-2 feels like an add-on, when it is a finely produced RPG.

FFX2 wasn't the greatest. Next to FF8, it had the cheesiest, most sentimental pieces of love crap to ever have existed. It was all Yuna Yuna Yuna. Who really cared about her?

3 playable characters. Oh, much variation. Fantastic variation to be correct.

That's all I have to complain. The rest was all pretty much good.

But FFX was better. It was longer, more challenging, and fighting the dark aeons wasn't as easy as fighting them in FFX2. At least in FFX it was fun to fight them.

FFX was lethargic, and the voice acting was dogshite imo, however it had a great system, graphics and all that, but was far too easy (aside from like 100% completetion) but it wasnt much of a challenge. Still good though, but lethargic and annoying
FFX-2 played excellenty as a game, but not so good as an FF. The battle system was great, voice acting wasnt AS annoying but was still bad, characters were up/down, graphics were decent (on yrp and the costumes) so, X-2 comes higher imo, it was just a better GAME, but not necessarily a better FF.
