When Cloud falls through the church roof in midgar, and the screen is black, why does aerith say "back then you could get by with skinned knees..." Is this just her thinking he was Zack? Because surely she didn't know Cloud "back then". Or could it just be Cloud talking to himself?

Its Cloud talking to himself. The proof is when you are with Tifa in the lifestream, Cloud and Tifa remembers going alone in the Nibel Mountain, the bridge falled and Tifa was in a coma for seven days but Cloud just has skinned knees.

it also could be sephiroth talking to cloud's mind like he sometimes did.

Nanaki, thanks for clearing that up. I just thought it was cloud talking to himself because of that exact part, but he asks he voice another question which led me to believe it again we're talking about cloud who gets very messed up sometimes ;) I also had wasn't himself he was talking to... but then that thought as well, god is dead, that sephiroth may have been talking to him again.

I think, it was the Jenova inside of Clouds mind. I mean, there are a lot of more places, where you can "hear" this voice. It could also be Clouds subconcious, but I believe it is Jenova! ;)

It was probably Cloud, he may be good, but hes a nutter (a vioce in his head).
He must've had fits about 4 times throughout the game and then he got mako poisoned and looked like a retard. Poor Guy :(

I don't believe it was Tifa. Why should she? She is not in his head. And it wasn't Aeris either. Why should she think he's Zack? I'm sorry, but I think Aeris has seen the difference. I mean, Cloud has blonde, and Zack has black hair. ;)

After Cloud fell through the roof, and everything was still black, you could see two voices on the screen. The one was Aeris, but she didn't say that much (only hello or something, can't remember). The other voice (the one who said that with the knees) was probably Jenova or something. But I mentioned this already. :rolleyes:

Hmm, it may have been Jenova. But I believe that since Cloud's and Zack's memories were merge, maybe a part of Zack is talking to him. Zack wasn't there during Cloud's childhood but they were very good buddies so Cloud coulda told him.

How, when, where? Cloud had a messed up mind. He wanted to believe he was a soldier like Zack, but deep at the inside he knew he was never a soldier first class. It was hidden in his subconcious, it had to get released at first....

That's the part Tifa did later on. But during the whole game Zack was Zack, and Cloud was Cloud (with a messed mind). The only one thing, that brought them together, were the experiments Shinra did on them. But it didn't work the way they wanted...

Don't understand me wrong, but it doesn't make sense to me, that Zack or Tifa could be the onces who have told him. :(

Well to be honest that entire conversation is #%*!ed up.

Yeah, this is what I was saying before. Aeris didn't say that much. But the things Cloud said, didn't come out as words. Not in this conversation with Aeris, because he was still unconcious. He was answering to the other voice. ;)

well,
when I meant their memories merge, during the time they were capture. I mean, the poses he did reminded Aeris of Zack, so part of Zack's memories must be merge with Cloud....maybe.:(
