i dont think shuyin looks like tidus....i mean;

he's got paler skin, his hair is lighter, they're voices are different, he's wearing different clothes, he's taller and his face is different from tidus'....

there are simaralities(i know thats not spelled right) like the hair is sort of the same way, his clothes resemble tidus'....

but i dont really think they look all that alike.....

what are your views?

They're not supposed to be identical twins. They're only supposed to look similar, which I think they do.

Yeah, the two look similar, but they're not exact mirror images.

From far away, or in a dark place, you could easily have mistaken one of them as being the other. But up close, you can tell them apart, easily.

yup! i mean when i didnt know about shuin at the beginning i was like whats wrong with tidus, but they look pretty similar

Yeah, they are pretty different. Not to mention that Shuyin looks older and he's bigger with stronger, more serious features. I personally think Tidus looks better than Shuyin. But James Arnold Taylor does the voice of Tidus and Shuyin. I think Tidus and Shuyin could pass as brothers, but I don't get how Yuna could have mistaken Shuyin for Tidus. Maybe she was just so desperate to find Tidus that she went to take any risks, or maybe she thought Tidus had changed in appearance cuz he grew older. She gew a bit different as she aged. But Tidus was non-existant for a while I think. Not to mention, that their personalities are totally different. And so are their motives. I could never picture Tidus, that happy-go-lucky kid going, Vegnagun, com. Let us purge! How ghetto. Maybe Shuyin could also pass as Tidus when you look at him from afar, but, I dunno.

A lot of people say the same things about Lenne and Yuna, too. And the similarities can be argued the same. Here's a pic to compare with.

One must question as to why they look so similar. Pure coincidence?

Its simple really, Tidus is a dream of the fayth, so a fayth (possibly Bahamut) created him from Shuyin. (Remember the world of Tidus is a dream.)They told in FFX that the fayth created every building from the true Zanarkand before it was destroyed by the Bevelle machina. I think it was the scene at Gagazet.

Yup, that's what happeded. Shuyin's father was probably also a lot like Jecht. And Shuyin and Tidus are both star blitzball players of the Zanarkand Abes, and they have the same battle moves. So, Tidus was a dream based off of Shuyin, but I think they created him in a way so that he would be the one to end "the dream". I also think, things were made the way they were so that the summoner and blitzball player could be together again, but this time able to save Spira. Sort of like an ammendmant to Shuyin and Lenne, and, maybe Spira. All the dreams--people, objects, and creatures--were based off of the real things in the real Zanarkand. They created the dream Zanarkand so that it could keep the glory of the real Zanarkand alive, but it had minor adjustements so that conflict would not erupt.

You know, I never thought of that. But it's a good assumption. For some reason, I've got a feeling it wasn't, but, you never know with all these possible answers to so many questions.

Now that I think of it, since Lenne can kind of take over Yuna, it is possible that Maechan could feel Lenne's presence in the handshake--er, I don't know how to really explain it. Or maybe because Yuna and Lenne had so much in common, that they shared similar attributes. It could be that they were related. We don't know, but I don't think so cuz I think in the game they would have focused a bit on that if it were true. You never know, though.

Shuyin looked kind of goofy. He had a very blunt build and seemed a little short to complement it. Tidus is more proportioned for his body type, giving him more of a 'feminine' appeal than that of Shuyin's. That's what I observed anyway.

i thought they were like former life of tidus and yuna so basically i was like yuna and tidus are their reincarnted people ;o

yeah, thats what i thought...you know like...tidus(well mebe not him) and yuna were decendents of shuyin and lenne.....

but if tidus was in zanarkand at the time, then wouldnt he and shuyin be from the same time? which would mean that they he is not a decendent.....

plus, if lenne died, then she would have no heir unless it was from another branch of the family(but zanakand was destroyed, and most people probebly died)

Shrina tells us right from the start that when people use the dress sphere, there emotions are recorded into the dress sphere which is why Yuna starts dancing on her own after getting the dress sphere back from Leblanc at the start of the game, and why when Yuna sings 1000 words we see the whole Lenne and Shuyin tragedy. So maybe when Maechin shakes the hand of Yuna, Lenne's handshake "Technique" comes through.

Yeah, I agree. Good analysis. Lenne's presence was there in Yuna because of the dress sphere since she was an unsent, therefore her entity kind of stayed in the dress sphere. I think the fayth brought Tidus in particular to Besaid because Yuna was kinda similar to Lenne, plus, a bunch of other reasons which I think I posted in the Tidus and Yuna thread. Or it might have been here but I don't remember. And I think I mentioned all of this at one time, but I dno't wanna look over the other posts, so I'll just leave it at that. :D
