well, like i said she stole it and i tracked her down while in wutai and when in her basement she trapped my team members in that cage and said i had to steal it. (?????????) whats that supposed to mean??!!! and i had alot of really great materia and i want it back!! so how do i? PLEEEEEEEEASE help!!!!

Eventually you'll get them back, but you have to fight one boss without materias so be careful!

Heaven forbid you play an RPG that has a boss fight in it that you can't win, like Chrono Trigger the first time through or something -_-.

umm.. you were a little low in info there 777... like when will i get it back, and what boss do i have to fight? im pretty far in the game, just about to enter disc 3, however, i havent been to wutai at all in the game except for now. so would i have fought this boss earlier? im just a little confused...

I would suggest training to get Aerith's Great Gospel before you go into that area of Wutai.

Yuffie stealing your materia is part of a little sidequest over at Wutai. Just keep following her around, and checking out the entire town (including the statues). Eventually, you'll fight a boss (w/o materia!), then you'll finally meet up with Yuffie and she returns your materia (out of order!) and then everything should be back to normal.

Since you're near the end of Disk 2, the boss shouldn't be hard. I think it's originally planned to be hard for those going near the mid of Disk 1, which is the first time you have access to Wutai.

I just had teh same problem (only did the wutai quest on disc 1) i did not find any boss i had to fight (unless you count that flying beast from the don a boss, but i kicked his butt in no time :) but i was searching for that damn materia also for a long time... after you've been trapped in the cage, you can find yuffie at the folowing place: at the square with the big pagode there is a little building in the lower left which seems to have no purpose, but walk to the bell and hit the ok button, cloud will sound the bell/gong and a secret door will be shown ;)

u shouldnt have too much trouble beating the boss on the mountain but if u are having trouble stock up on attack items they are the best way to defeat this boss as he is flying and more than likely only barret will have a long range attack. also after u beat the boss and get ur materia back make sure u go back to the pagoda of the five gods and fight yuffies father u get the leviathan summon and yuffies ultimate limit break.

Ps if u dont normally use yuffie i would level her up some because fighting her dad is no easy challenge if your early in the game.

I know, but if you're either an Aerith fan like me or just trying to get everything, it's worth using while you still have her. It's not that hard to get either.

If you fight the bird thingy (the boss that were talking about) in disk one when your supposed to. Just seal evil it and it will be E-A-S-Y(I had ALOT of problems wit it when I fought in in disk one.)

you dont neccerily have to do it without materia she stole all of mine except the master matria i had so if you have a whole bunch of stuff mastered you should be okay

lol...I did this after I got the Highwind. I tried it with the Bronco and got killed by bolt2s on the way to Wutai...

I gave Yuffie double cut materia and her dad died in 1 round.

I say keep Yuffie in your regular party...her attack damage is even better than Cloud...

Give her Cover and Counter Attack as well as the 2x Cut...she's nuts...

My solution was to just search everywhere and then kick ass when I needed to. it worked.

It's a little fun sidequest of hide-and-seek. Just seek Yuffie out and find her obivous hiding places. The turks join you because Elena's been captured, just like Yuffie will be. Join the turks on their search, kick Corneo's butt and his monster, and Yuffie and Elena will be back on their respective team. You'll also get all of your materia back plus a bonus that Yuffie gives to you, sorta like an apology from her.
It's a little extra training and challenging to find out if your characters are maxed out enough without materia help.;)

This part is super easy. Follow Yuffie as most of you said. Go up to Da-Chao and come back down. Make sure that the kid that keeps running around is near the item/Materia shop. You talk to him,run in the shop,get an MP Absorb Materia from that box and Yuffie'll steal that from you. follow her to the house at the entrence of Wutai. Check the screen near the entrence and Yuffie'll hop out from behind the screens. Follow her to this wobbiling jar. You and your friends capture Yuffie and Yuffie will take you to her hideout. Yuffie says pull the left lever(It really doesn't matter because the right will do the same) and your friends are trapped and Yuffie's on the run again. Release your friends and leave the room. Go towards the Pagoda and you'll see that the gate to the left is open. Bang the gong and go in the secret door. Your worst nightmare (If you where chosen in Corneo's Mansion), Corneo, appears. Follow him out of the room and you and some Shinra guards surround Corneo. You are forced into a battle because the Shinra Guards miss Corneo and run into you. After the fight run up to Da-Chao. Follow the path all of the way up the Mountain. Go into that flaming cave(the one Rude enters) and he'll give you a weapon( i sorta forgot what he gives you). Run doun that path leading away from the cave and you'll run into Corneo. After a minute of talking you fight off against Rapps(Materialess). I used Cloud, Red XIII, and Aeris against Rapps and I won. After winning, Corneo threatens to drop Yuffie and Elena of the mountain if you don't walk away. The Turks come to the rescue and Corneo is pushed off of the mountain.

I forgot about the Turks.
Do this before you run up to Da-Chao or before you talk to the running around kid.
Enter Turtle's Paradise and talk to the Turks sitting around a table. Elena will jump up and purpose a match. Reno tells Elena they are on vacation and Elena goes running out of the bar.

That's alot of explaining I did.

After you complete this side quest, go to the small house underneath Yuffie's
house. It is filled with cats. You'll see steps. Press circle by the steps and you'll
go up. You can see a hole in the ceiling. Now that you're up there, run towards the hole. You'll be in another area. Open the chest for a HP Absorb materia. (Hint: During the side quest go in the item shop and open the box to the right of the screen and get a MP Absorb. Yuffie will take it, but after this quest is complete, she will give that back to you with all your other materia, too).
