I just bought a Game Boy Advance and some games I was wondering what other people were playing on thier GBA because I want to get a couple more games soon. (I have Tactics Advance, Golden Sun the Lost Age, and The Revenge of Shinobi)
Please tell me that you purchased the NES Classic Edition?
I have four of the eight Classic NES Series:
The Legend of Zelda, ExciteBike, Pac-Man, and Super Mario Bros.
And I have six other "normal" games. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, as you already own.
Super Mario Bros 3: Super Mario Advance 4. Not sure why they don’t just call it SMB3. But I would highly recommend purchasing the highest-selling game of all time.
Sword of Mana: I wasted my money on it. If you have played Secret of Mana before, I will be the first to tell you. Sword is a lot worse than Secret. Don’t buy this game until you have first played it a couple hours.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past/Four Swords. This one is pretty simple. If you like the SNES version of A Link to the Past, you definately want to pick up the GBA SP version.
Metroid Fusion: This was a really good game. It was a refreshment to the series, and I would recommend picking this one up soon.
Metroid: Zero Mission: This is a wonderful game. Yeah, most of it is just a re-make of Metroid from the NES, but there is a lot of new content added in. It almost feels like a brand new game. I would urge you to pick this one up as soon as possible.
I also play Tactics Advance and the Zone of Enders game for the GBA a lot.
Awesome. Zone of Enders on the GBA was by Winky Soft, one of my favorite developers.
My reccomendation list for recent games is the same as Ndis. I’m avoiding the NES reprints though, until something I’ve never played comes out… something I’ve never played, or THE GUARDIAN LEGEND. I’m more interested in the japanese versions, since there are a few games there I’ve only played through emulation and would love to own.
Famicom Mini Series: Super Mario Bros.
Not the Classic NES series – the Famicom Mini, imported from Japan. It’s cooler because the cartridge is white and red.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Because it’s the best game on the system… and you’re at a Final Fantasy fansite.
Max Payne
I don’t know how they captured the look, feel, and hell, bullet time, but it’s a terrific fun game – if a little on the short side.
Sonic Advance 2
I always thought the Sonic series had died after the wonder that was Sonic 3 and Knuckles – ever since it made the jump into 3D, it just wasn’t Sonic anymore. Until I played this game, and realised that Sonic in 2D form is a live and kicking, and getting better.
Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2
The best Mario game ever… but I am biased, because I haven’t played SMB3. But still, for my SNES nostalgia sake, a brilliant game.
Sword of Mana
If you’re not looking for a deep story, but just a romping adventure with an intuitive grid based battle system, this game is terrific – what it lacks in story, it makes up for in gameplay.
Wing Commander: Prophecy
I loved WCP on the computer, so I loved this game – but I wouldn’t suggest playing it unless you’ve played the computer version, or you’ll have no idea what the hell is going on. The story is sacrificed in order to get the 3D space combat action going – which, by the way, is absolutely brilliant on the GBA.
FFTA (Gotta have that)
Yu Gi Oh World Championship Tournament 2004
Pokemon Ruby
I’m pretty content with them… but another good game you should look at is Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, great game.
And I second the vote for SMB3. Great game, unless you overplayed it on the NES.
