As everybody knows, final fantasy the spirits within didn't become a box office hit, maybe because the storyline could of needed improvement. I think that the final fantasy movie should have been based on one of the games. If they were to make another movie, which FF game do you think they should base the movie on? any suggestions?
Personally, I think that they should have based the movie on FFVII. FFVII's story and music was just awesome, worthy of a movie.

Don't you realize that another movie, based on FFVII, is almost finished?

woohoo someone other than me likes the spirits within. it was definately overhyped and really shocked some fans. the first time i saw it i was really dissapointed not to see summon monsters, big swords and bigger hairstyles, but now i really like it.

*FF7 Spoilers*
I very much have to agree there. It really was overhyped, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. Infact I really liked it, and there were several links to FF7 in my opinion, the whole Gaia thing and Spirits returning to it was kinda like FF7 where you'd return to the lifestream. I loved it and I still do.

I liked The Spirits Within but not considering it the best movie ever (The Princess Bride will always have a place in my heart). Thing was, The Spirits Within had some great story elements to it, some funky humor, and really REALLY nice CG work that has never been seen before in the gaming or movie industry.
But aside from that, people should realize that if they do base a movie on anything (game, book, whatever it may be), they won't do it to your expectations because high expectations will always result in disappointment. FF:TSW had high expectations because people expected Final Fantasy 7 or 8 material out of it. Truth is, how many FF7 and FF8 fans (or even FF in general) are there compared to movie goers? The ratio is HUGE... Square could face even more punishment if they centered their multi-million production on just the FF fans.
There were also demands to bring FF7AC to the theaters... first off, I'm EXTREMELY glad that FFXI came out because that basically saved Square's ass right there, along with the Enix merge. Investing more money on FF7AC into something that will be wasted on is not a good idea, like I said, the ratio of Movie Goers and the Ratio of FF fans. It might go in Japan... but it'll not work in the US.
Lets just say... Square can go make another movie but if it's based on something already established, I'm going to cry.

Yeah, what was so wrong with Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within? Was it that it wasnt really like the game FF or smething.... that brings me to another point, its a bit off topic but oh well.
What other FF's deserve to be made into a movie or have a movie sequel?

hush alpott
it was pretty much a complete failure in the UK, it got to like number 9 at the box office and had really awful reviews, and popularity in the UK hardly makes any difference on a worlwide scale

Even though Final Fantasy:Spirits Within wasn't really that popular it still was a good movie.
I'm really excited about Advent Children. I think the Japanese voices sound great and I'm afraid that they are totally going to trash it if and when they make the English dubbed

I don't think it made it because those who don't know about the "Gaia" theory don't really want to have to tink too hard. I mean we all got hours to get used to the idea, especially if you think of how FF7 introduces the idea

i have no idea whether or not you are being sarcastic. surely a non-interactive entertainment experience would be a movie?
