Why why why do they do it...you buy a game then they add a little bit on it and resell it...then you want the new game and have to shell out the cash twice....its not fair dammit. :P

i want to know what the fuck the point of FFX-2 International + Last Mission is.

FFX-2: I + LM has the following major changes (this is off the top of my head)
2 New Dresspheres
Monster Arena added with the ability to capture and train monsters.
Able to fight Tidus/Auron/Seymour and a bunch of other stronger monsters in Monster Arena.
and finally Last Mission
Last Mission plays like a different game compared to FFX-2. In this game, you can choose different characters to go and well... play the Last Mission. No idea how it works yet since I never played it.
Actually, a lot of Japanese games sometimes get re-released with minor updates, it's not surprising to see FFX-2: International + LM really and it wasn't surprising to see FFX: International.

I so much would love to play Final Fantasy X + X-2 International (and Kingdom Hearts Final Mix for that matter), but, unfortunately, I live in the United States.
I read that one of the new dresspheres has a kimono. Anyone have some pictures of that?

this will probably sound stupid, but will they ever sell the X and X-2 international in North America? or is it just for Japan or something.

It's just Japan. They call it "International" because the game is based on what was added to the US version (voice overs and that stuff) and a little bit of their own extras (which ends up being a lot).
FF7 was the first game to have an International Version, only a Bonus Disc was added with a bunch of Lists and stuff. FFX ended up with more enemies to kill... FFX-2 has a lot different for an "international" release.

Oh! I thought it was more than just Japan. Here's a bit more details:
Final Fantasy X International - It had these "Dark" Aeons that you could fight, as well as a new supermonster.
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix - This one's a real whopper. They changed the colors on a lot of the enmies, added in new enemies, new items, weapons, changed a bunch of things, added a new bonus ending and also several other new scenes and stuff.

this message is for agent 0042 and for all others who think that just because they live in the us, the cant get import games:]
try yesasia.com, were you can order final fantasy x-2 int, final fantasy x int, etc. just click on the japanese products tab, and type in the exact name of the game (Final Fantasy X-2: International + Last mission)
the one drawback is that the running rate of an international game is about $63. oh well!!!

Yeah, and then you have to "chip" your console, right? Pass.
finalfantasylvr
08-03-2004, 03:40 AM
actually, there is a two disk system you can buy that i bought, that works muck like a gameshark. all you have to do is put in the import specific disk, and then put in the import at the prompt. there is no chip involved, and it in no way changes the console permanently.

Toysnjoys.com sells import games and import consoles and stuff. You could get the stuff you needed to play it there- it's where I got my pink gameboy.
Also, they sell the awesome controllers shaped like Yuna's guns.

yeah, but the last import ps2 i looked at cost $339. Guess what, even more money to spend, just to play a few import games.
screw that

I would go for disc swaping over chipping. It's pretty much a pain in the ass when you have a chipped PS2 and you want to play Legit games. You would have to hold the reset button and lets say you want to play a Japanese game with the Harddrive support... you can't unless you get really freaking lucky that the harddrive doesn't detect the modchip.

Even if you did import it, it wouldn't be the same cause its in Japanese.
FFX International was good cause it had both English and Japanese options, and the PAL version of FFX had all extras.
It's becoming an annoying habit of theirs. They release one game, wait for a few months then release the international one.
It's like the first one is just a beta version and the finalised version is exclusive to Japan. Even if it were imported, it wouldn't be the same since it'll be difficult to understand.
I'd actually prefer them to just hold back the release date. For the English versions I'd wish they'd actually put more effort into changing the lip sync and voices. In FFX-2 they didn't even bother to change any of the FMV sequences. They just played the english voices over. If you've played the Japanese versions, the voices match the characters' lips perfectly and they actually sound like they're coming from the characters' mouth.

Final fantasy x-2 international IS in English, it just has japanese subtitles. It aslo has never before heard dialogue made by hedy burress and tara strong and whoever plays paine.

Actually the US FMVs were redone. If you compared Yuna's Model to the US and JPN version, you can tell that they look completely different.
But usually, International releases usually end up being more of the request of the fans that have already played the game. It's like making a game and asking the fans how much they liked it and how they can improve on it... and then they just add whatever was suggested and what they come up with after the game was finished.
It's kinda hard to plan something when you have nothing to base it on and Square Enix just has that option to re-release a game with many upgrades... as a matter of fact, a lot of companies in Japan do re-release a few of their games with upgrades. Winning Eleven by Konami had a bunch of their games re-released. Virtua Fighter 4 is another prime example of consumer feedback.
Of course, with how people are in the US and European side of the world, having these re-releases would not generate so many sales because we simply do not have enough of that fan base to generate that much money off of us.
But also in the long run, a lot of re-releases don't offer THAT much new to the game. In fact, FFX-2, even though it would be great to own the International version when you have already played FFX-2, it probably wouldn't make FFX-2 fans that pleased and it wouldn't make new FFX-2 fans. FFX International for example had English text, a new Sphere Grid, and Dark Aeons... however, it's basically the same game with these little addons and that's it.

thiis is a question for she dont use jelly,
what types of things make the model of yuna different in the two versions, is it the way she looks, or the way she moves or what?
MogKnight

Well, the keyframes in animation are identical (except of course the mouth). However, if you were to take two screenshots of the same exact frame from both games and put them side by side, you'll note some minor differences between the two models.
Um... unfortunately, I don't have both versions so I really can't prove this. :(

I find it strange that squrae enix has to go through so much trouble to make a version for Japan, then a version for the U S, and then another version for Japan that is even better than the first two. Why dont the Japanese and the American parts of square enix team up to make an all around great game, that they can release around the world in a bunch of different languages?
After all, if they did that in the first place, then we wouldnt be chatting on line about how pissed of we r that we can"t have Final Fantasy X-2: International + Last Mission.

I think I'd rather have Kingdom Hearts Final Mix before the FFX / FFX-2 remakes. I read they really did up that game with new monster models and items, new secret bosses, new sidequests and a whole bunch of other improvements - like they really put a lot of time into it.

You mean this Kimono dress sphere? This is the festival goer dress sphere where they use sparks and fire crackers, and ribbons and things like that. And then I know they have a new boss called Emerald. If anyone wants to see it, just ask.
When you post a message, at the bottom is a little thingy and next to it, it says, browse. If there is a pic on the web, just right click on it, and click the option save to my pictures, and save it to your pictures, (called: my pictures), which should be in your documents. When you're done with that, click the browse, and it will send you to your pictures and then click on the picture and upload your message, then you're done. You can use the way where you put in the URL, but sometimes it doesn't always work the way you want it to.

Hey, could you PM me and tell me about the ending please? I don't think I'll ever get a chance to play International all the way. My friend has it though. You can play Tidus/Auron/Seymour as practice and for fun. They have this jassy/swing music when you Tidus with Yuna, and they'll have these little converstations ^_^. Cute!
Oh, and the school uniform is actually a phycic, phyciatric, phyciscs, blah! I don't remember how it was spelled or pronouced, but I know that the characters use phycic abilities on their foes.
And with the vioces and stuff, it's not just English because there are options where you can hear it in Jap or in English w/or w/out subtitles. I've heard it in both. The plot of Last Mission is someone sends YRP letters to help them exterminate some fiends for them, and then be specially rewarded at the end. It also has a bunch of leads to Tidus, and there are some cut scenes where people talk about him and the summoner's journey. Yuna has a bunch more flashbacks and things like that in International. You can get International on e-bay or amazon I think.
As far as FMVs, America would tone them up with their own Sony productions, and make it more detailed, colored, and actoins smoother. In FFX they paid more attention to mouth flaps than in X-2, though, and the way they made their voice actors work was hard. They never let them work with each other, look at a movie of their characters or how the Jap actors played them, and they were very blunt with their direction. I mean, when the actors first started they would show them those things, but still...

Luckily, i have my copy of the ffx-2 intl+last mission, and i must say that it's a lot better than the englisg version. ^_^ the 2 new DS are cool (psychic and festival goer), and the fact that u could capture fiends all over spira and use them in battle, along with other sub-characters like shinra and brother is awesome! and each fiend has its own story too after you've finished using it. i was so happy when i captured boris (the giant crab from gagazet) and was able to use him in combat lol. as for the last+mission, though, i didnt like it because i find it really boring. all u do is fight fiends on maze-like floors. w/c seem to be neverending :(
as for the ending, i havent finished the game yet, and yes, there is another ending but from what i've read, it's just a flashback from the different scenes in ffx and ffx-2.. it was also in this game that i first saw ff7ac's trailer, cos it's included in there. ^_^
I heard the graphics were bad so they didn't release it in America only in Japan.

jiro: no, the graphics were as nice as the english version's ^_^
