What is your favorite game of all time? Mine is a tie between Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of time and Legend of Zelda :A Link to the past. Best storys best games.

I ahve to say either Final Fantasy 7 or Metal Gear Solid. Both great gameplay, and I love the storylines and characters.

What exactly classifies a game as a "favorite"? Do you let the best game of all time influence your decision on your favorite game, or do you honestly tell the truth?

Well, it's kind of hard for me. I think the two best games of all time are FFVII and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. However, I don't know if I can honestly say that one of these two is my favorite. Is your favorite game the one that you love to play the most, or what? I'm not asking these questions for my benefit, because I already know my favorite game of all time. I'm asking for you guys out there, so you can respond to it.

With that being said, my favorite game of all time, is...

Super Metroid. I have beat that game so many times, I can't remember exactly.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance for the PS2. Or Aliens VS. Predator 2 for the PC.

I'm torn between the two, and can't decide.

Super Mario Bros. 3

Unlike nearly every other game in the world, you can always go back and play this game, just because it's so damn fun. There is a reason why it is the best selling game of all time.

Super Metroid. I have beat that game so many times, I can't remember exactly. I would say what classifies a game as a favorite is concidering what game/games you never get tired of playing. A game you could play over and over again and it still keeps the same luster you felt the frist time you played it.

I think that the best game ever is Final Fantasy VII. It was the first gamer that I ever played and I am still in love with it. It has had the best characters, storyline, battle system, an no one has ever been able to match it!

Well, I only ask, because what some people consider to be the best game of all time, sometimes is not their favorite.

Final Fantasy 7.I've played that game probably 10 times all the way through and I cant ever get sick of playing it!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The most balanced RPG i've ever played, and the only game that's actually let me feel like i'm a Jedi, not some FPS with a glowing stick (read: Jedi Knight. I like JK, but those games just don't feel right.)

I've had too many games in the past which were my favourite, until the next one came along. Still, after all the games I've played, one series still draws me back to it....

The Dynasty Warriors games for the PS2 (Also known as Shin Sangoku Musou), in particular Dynasty Warriors 4 and it's expansion disc, Dynasty Warriors 4 Xtreme Legends.

Being able to select from 40+ characters, and then charge around on a battlefield killing an insane amount of enemies, and getting a huge kill count (I had in DW3 1484 KO's at the Battle of Hu Lao Gate, using the Wei General Xiahou Dun. In DW4, in the Nanman Campaign I had 1897 kills with the Wu General Zhou Tai and in the Yellow Turban Rebellion (In free mode) 2591 KO's. For that, I was using the character Lu Bu. He kills a lot of people with just one swing of his weapon, the Sky Scorcher.)

Another thing about this series I love, is the fact it's loosely based on the novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which was based on true historical events in ancient China, circa 160AD-260AD.

Final Fantasy VI.

There are other games that I really love and adore, but that game is extremely special to me. Amazing story, never get tired of playing it- it's the game that turned me into a gamer.

Hard to say. Tetris with it's eight blocks and a well however would probably top my list, as being so insanely addictive, it's also so remarkebly simple in execution, and it without a doubt contributed to securing the Gameboy's (the original chunky green-screen version) stranglehold on the handheld market.

However, there are other classic games which also rate highly for me: such as Sonic CD on the Mega CD, FFVI on the SNES, Castlevania Symphony of the Night on the PSX, Daytona USA at the arcade (although I play the Dreamcast version myself), Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past on the SNES, Scorched Earth on the PC (remember that little gem?), and many others who's names elude me at the moment.

At the moment however, my current favourite (which I blame Xiahou Dun for), is Koei's Dynasty Warriors games. Although DW4 and DW4 [/i]Xtreme Legends[/i] are good (particulary with the Officer Edit mode), I actually perfer DW3 and DW3 Xtreme Legends however, as the graphics look sharper, and the gameplay is more intense (I once got a staggering 2060 kills with Wei bad-arse Xiahou Dun on the Wei side during the Siege of Hei Fei Castle in Free Mode one time).

However the graphic engine pushes the PS2 to it's limits. meaning enemy soldiers will suddenly disappear if there are too many characters on screen at once, and they turn invisible, although you can still hit them and they can hit you! - a problem that was more or less eliminated with DW4 which reduced the size of the charcters on screen, but reduced the graphics in the process.

If DW3XL had included an Officer Edit mode as well as the Elephant Saddle from DW4, then DW3 would definetley be my current favourite of all time! Alas, only the Bodyguard Edit was included, which I suppose is good enough (nothing like setting my bodyguard unit as a troop of Nanman Amazons! ;) ). Can't wait for Dynasty Warriors 5 and Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires!

shenmue 1, ff8 are my fave games of all time

"Of all time" is tough, because my tastes and my demands grew as I grew up...

Super Mario 3 was the first console game I ever completed, and I don't think I've ever been so proud in completing a game since.

My first RPG experience was Shining Force 2. A beautiful tactical RPG, with characters you can love and characters you can hate, and a plot which keeps you on your toes.

Final Fantasy 7 was the bait on the hook that made me an RPG fan and a Final Fantasy fan. I doubt I'd be posting here if it hadn't hooked me, I'll admit that.

And recently: The only game that was held my attention for long periods of time has been Morrowind. A vast RPG world that is open ended and gives you scope to do what you want. Well, mostly what you want. :)

For me, FF7, Gitaroo Man or MGS2. Maybe one of the Championship Managers.

Hard to Say I actually really like MVP Baseball 2004 and Madden NFL Football 2004 (both should have the next installment soon) The orginal Shining Force on Game Gear was awesome, Super Mario RPG was great, Metal Gear Solid is way up on the list, FF7 and Tactics, Devil May Cry, Age of Empires 2 and it's expansion, Half-Life, but my favorite might be Brave Fencer Mushai that was one the greatest games of all time and really fun to play plus you could blow all of your money on action figures or weave a legendary Blanket

Who woulda thought it would be so hard to pick a favorite? Up at the top of my list are the Legacy of Kain games, Knights of the Old Republic, and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

But my absolute favorite, now that I think about it, was Tribes.
