Okay, I realized I had a whole mess of Materia options after replaying Final Fantasy 7... so I decided "Do the people in the FF7 forum really care about the story... or just getting from Point A to Point B in the coolest and deadliest way possible?"

And after seeing a shitload of threads about anything but the actual gaming, I want to see who out there can think of some interesting combos... does not have to be one of those extremely helpful materia combos.... just something to do out of pure fun even.

One combo I mentioned in another thread involves killing nearly anything with Knights of Round X2, it was.

HP Absorb - Master Summon
MP Absorb - Knights of Round
Counter - Mime
W-Summon
HP Plus
MP Plus
Speed Plus

Just do a Knights of Round Summon with W-Summon and whenever you get hit, it'll do 2 Knights of Round every turn.

Another combo that I've been toying with is trying to make my character counter attack again and again... I only managed to get it up to 8 though. :( The combo is basically just all Counter Attack Materia.

I did surprisingly little beyond pairing the All Materia with Magic Materia in terms of combinations. I preferred to have my characters loaded with magic and summons rather than use the support and command materia. A few commands were good: Mime, for instance. W-Summon for another. And 4x cut can be devastating too.

But I very rarely do Elemental-Attacks or added-effect attacks or anything like that...

i dont remeber what it was but it was elemental attack and some summon but now that i think about it would elemental attack and hades do some really bad status ailments to the enemy but thats not it

If you are toying with counter attack materias and such I would just like to remind you not to overlook magic counter and counter as well as counter attack. You know you could link magic counter with Ultima or Knight of the Round if you wish. If you are just going strictly physical you might want to like counter with 4x cut. That gives you 4 physical attacks right there. Half of what you are already getting with just two materia slots.

i would like to see if added effect plus hades would attack with those effects? and i will try, but i think mime would only mime one counter attack... if it had the ability to mime multiple... well then this:

equip: mime-counter
as many counter attack as you can...

then this: you get hit, you perform useless imitation, and counter attack (let's say 8) 8 times... next turn, you counter attack 8 times, and you counter attack 8 times... then 16 and 8, then 32 and 8... if this could work (which i doubt) then you'd be awesome!!!!! i know it's not realistic, but you did want creativity, didn't you Mk?

This is my Emerald Killing combo-

Mime = Counter Mime = Counter Mime = Counter Mime = Counter Mime = Counter Mime = Counter Mime = Counter Mime = HP absorb

Ultima Weapon
Wizard bracelet
Sprint Shoes

go into the battle with the other two characters dead and omnislash ready... start things up with omnislash, then every time emerald hits you, you'll counter 7 times with omnislash and completely regain all of your lost HP...

and BINGO no more giant wierd lookin green thing swimming around the depths O_o

oh yeah! have underwater materia on one of the dead characters, it will still eliminate the time constraint

One fun one for me (simple though) is casting reflect on myself and then casting some strong magic spell with all materia on myself and it hits the enemy three times for the mp of one.

Use Death-Blow with weapon which has 255 accuracy, it won't miss.

There are a few things you can do with Resist.

Cast Resist on any character who's got Berserk, no matter what happenes he'll just keep hitting like killing machine.

After getting your chacter doomed, cast resist on him or her, he or she won't die even if timer gets to zero.

The last one, cast resist on your character who's got Slow-Numb, there'll be no way you can mend it and you just will have to watch him or her turning into stone.

This is one of my favourite combinations:

Equip one character with a Protect ring (stolen from Schizo in Gaia Cliffs). Equip this same character with Counter Attack and Cover Materia (preferably both at high levels)

The affect is one character takes all or most of the physical damage due to Cover, this damage is then halfed by the Auto-Wall set up by the Protect ring. The Character than attacks back automatically because of counter.

You could even throw in long range for increased damage to the back rows. Elemental & Poison would also be a good adition if you put them in a weapon joint slot.

I gave this combo to my Red XIII, he had his level 4 limit break before my Cloud had his level 2 because he makes so many kills, so if you want to get up limit levels quickly, this is a good combo to use.

Good materia combo
Master Final Attack, will clone it and make another one. Equip one on Phoenix and one on KOTR. If you die, you will revive and hit back hard!
