As for my earlier question, (what is the most powerful armour for Steiner and Freya), your answer isn't correct Sleep. Going on statistics, Tin Armour is in fact the best armour in the gamel, as it's stats of 62 Def, 32 Eva, 27 Magic Def and 17 Magic Eva are much better than the Grand Armour's 59 Def and Stength +1. Incidentally Tin Armour can only be synthed by Hades in Memoria in disc 4 with a Hammer and an Ore for 50 000 gil.

Actually, OmegaWeapon was partially correct. As mentioned by one of the engineers in the Lindblum Airship Dock/workshop early in disc 3, the main problem with the Hilda Garde II is actually that they can't stabilise the engine, as it refuses to run for more than ten minutes before breaking down:

Engineer: "It's no good sire. We can't stabilise the engine system. It won't run for more than ten minutes at a time..."

A: You only have to keep the Hammer in your inventory (gained by collecting all 12 Stellazzios, along with the secret 13th one) in order to add the extra, secret scene into the ending - Save the Queen does not influence the ending, despite what the 'official' European Piggyback FFIX strategy guide says to the contrary. That was just a typo which has fuelled a thousand rumours surrounding it, and I can honestly say, it is NOT true. Save the Queen does NOTHING to the ending.

The Genomes were actually created by Garland as host bodies for the sleeping souls of Terra's original (presumably human) civillisation, after Terra 'assimillated' with Gaia. Normally, the Genomes are meant to be devoid of emotion and free will, existing essentially as semi-intelligent robots, however, Garland created three special Genomes with souls, emotion AND free will, for special tasks (I won't mention who they are, as it gives away the plot and most of the end portion of the game).

Actually, a few points here.

First, in regards to my question, the reason the two Black Mages adopted the chocobo egg is because they were responsible for the death of the mother chocobo who laid it, moments before they became self-aware.

Seeing the mother chocobo's dead body lying next to the egg, they felt remorse and guilt for their actions, and so, as recompensense, they adopt the egg and look after it, until it hatches into a chocobo they name 'Bobby Corwell' (BoCo for short).

As for Necron, that is a major plot spoiler (eric_g_08 was close), however:

SPOILER ALERT!!

Necron is the antithesis (or opposite) of the Crystal of Life (the Crystal in the logo). As the Crystal creates life and existence, Necron destroys it. It has always existed, ever since the beginning of time itself, waiting for the chance to return existence back into nothingness (or "return everything back to the zero world" as it says.).

When Kuja insanely threatens to destroy the Crystal, it summons Necron, as Necron mistakenly believes Kuja's actions as proof that he was in fact acting on behalf of all existence - that the universe and life no longer wanted to exist.

As Zidane and the party manage to defeat it, it merely confirms that life in fact wanted to exist all along, and were willing to fight for it. With that fact confirmed, Necron has no choice but to disappear back into whatever dark hell it came from, but will always exist as long as the Crystal exists.

I wrote up a good, extensive summary of most of FFIX's plot line in a very old thread here in FFS several years ago (it's here in the FFIX section, so a search back should find it), if you have any questions about finer points of FFIX's story.

Anyway, eric_g_08 was close enough, so feel free post the next question.
