As soon as you leave the castle, a long dialogue will appear on-screen, along with the song. The second time is during your final battle, with Zeromus. After your party has been killed by Zeromus, except for Cecil who has only 1 HP left, the Elders of Mysidia and a bunch of other people start praying for the group's success.

Like I said, at least the first version of Atma Weapon has to be in there. Maybe one or more of the eight dragons, also The Dream Stooges and Wrexsoul because they could be hella hard, especially if you weren't properly ready. Of course, if you're including final bosses, then Kefka has to be in it, but maybe those shouldn't be included. To be honest, I really don't remember any of the FFIV bosses off-hand, although I'd probably start to remember if I heard the names.

First Battle of Round 1:
Milon-After you eliminate Milon and his 4 Ghasts on Mt. Ordeals, he will disappear from the screen. As soon as you cross the bridge and reach the other side, he attacks from the back. The entire fight is a back-attack, making it more difficult to do good damage on the beast. The best strategy is to keep Palom and Porom alive, and have them cast Twin as many times as possible.
vs.
Atma Weapon - This is the first fight in which The Fierce Battle plays. You first fight Atma Weapon at the end of the World of Balance. He has powerful attacks and exists of pure energy. You'll want your strongest characters and specials ready. Have Locke in the party to steal the Atma Weapon, which grows in strength as you level up.

Ok, the first battle featuring bosses finishes with a good number of votes, but the battle itself wasn't even close!

Next Battle:
Sandy, Cindy, & Mindy-Better known as the Magus Sisters. As you are making your way through the Tower of Zot to rescue Rosa, you meet the Magus Sisters right before the end. The trick to the battle is to defeat Cindy first, otherwise it is a very difficult fight.
vs.
Goddess-She is one of the three statue bosses guarding the path to Kefka. 'The Fierce Battle' music plays during the fight. She has an annoying attack that puts your characters on a countdown to Zombie status. She also has a special blue magic called Force Field.

Let's see how the second battle faired:
Sandy, Cindy, & Mindy-6
Goddess-1
So we start out with villians from both games advancing. Let's see how the rest of the competition turns out.
Next Battle:
Valvalis-After you rescue Rosa, and Kain joins your party after being released from his spell, you will fight Valvalis in the same spot you finished off the Magus Sisters. The trick to this fight is to have Kain use his Jump while Valvalis is in her spin mode, and then attack at will when she returns to her normal fighting mode. Attacks are pretty much useless while she is in spin.
vs.
Ultros - He is an octopus who is always dogging the party. You fight him another of times. His special attacks include Ink and Tentacles. His Tentacles will likely kill Banon in one shot in the first battle if you don't put him in the back row. He later gives up the fight and becomes a receptionist.
Fight!
I really like both villians. Ultros was great throughout the game, and Valvalis has attacks that can take your parties HP down to 1.

Ultros-5
So while Ultros may have been the easier boss, it looks like people loved his comdedic sequences he brought to the game.
Next Battle:
Kainazzo-When you return to Baron castle through the sewers, you will meet this boss in the Throne Room. During the battle, he can hide in his shell to replenish his HP. After he summons water to surround him, this is your chance to use lightning elemental attacks, preferable Lit3 if you have it. Uses a powerful Wave attack on the party. Basically, Kainazzo is a big turtle.
vs.
Atma-You fight Atma towards the end of the game. It is a wise decision to give it everything you got, because this version is a lot stronger than the original you fought on the Floating Continent. Pearl works really well against Atma.

Next Battle:
Bahamut-On the moon, if you enter Bahamut's Cave, you will have the opportunity to acquire this powerful Summon. Bahamut uses a five count to use his devastating Nuke attack. 5-4-3-2-1...WOW! Try to defeat the dragon before he uses this attack, because it may wipe out the entire party.
vs.
Chadarnook - A vexing boss that appears in the portrait in Jidool. It has two forms and switches between them. It has a ridiculous amount of HP and the ability to sap life out of your characters and confuse them. The worse thing is that you may not know that you are only supposed to attack the Demon form of this boss. Attack the woman too much and you have to start over.
Fight!
I'm going with Bahamut. There are some great weapons and armor in his cave, and also the infamous enemy, Behemoth. The journey through the cave itself is a challenge. Plus, I don't really remember Chadarnook all that much.

Zemorus-The final villian of FFIV. After you use the Crystal on Zemus, it's true form emerges into a hideous beast. It has very strong attacks such as Nuke and Big Storm, which both take away great amounts of HP.
vs.
SrBehemoth-It's an Behemoth you fight in the Cave in the Veldt in the World of Ruin. It can attack four times in a row and has high HP. It always drops a BehemothSuit armor which can be exchanged at the Coliseum for the powerful Snow Muffler. It appears on the Veldt.

Next Battle:
Dark Knight-After Cecil becomes a Paladin on Mt. Ordeales, he must face his past, in the form of his former self! Dark Knight attacks strong and quick, so it's a hard fight if you don't take it seriously. When you win the fight, Cecil truly becomes a Paladin.
vs.

Next Battle:
Wyvern-Near the end of the Lunar Subterrane, you will notice a sword on the right side of the screen. If you find the secret path to it, you will have to fight this beast to acquire the Crystal, which is easily the strongest sword in the game. Wyvern countdown 5...4...3...2...1...0...then releases an extremely strong attack that can take approximately 6,000 HP away from your party members.
vs.
Phunbaba-A large giant that terrorizes the orphanage. Terra attempts to fight it, but this is a battle that is a guaranteed lost. Afterwards, your other party members take it on and one gets knocked away. Terra joins again in morphed form. This boss hits with elemental magic and strong attacks.

It was shaping up to be a close battle from the very beginning, but let's see if it came out that way.
Wyvern-7
Phunbaba-2
Nope, the dragon pulled away with a comfortable victory. I guess just not enough people found Phunbaba to be a good villian.
Next Battle:
Odin-After certain events in the game have taken place, go to the basement of Baron Castle. There, you will fight the mighty Odin, except for one tiny weakness; Casting Lit 3 on him will almost kill him surely!
vs.
The Phantom Train-A train carries departed souls to the afterlife. Sabin, Cyan and Shadow if you have him get stuck on it. They eventually figure out how to stop it and it fights them. It has attacks that can hit all targets and is fairly strong, but keep pounding with Shurikens and specials and it eventually goes down.
Fight!
I would vote for Odin if he couldn't be destroyed in one hit. While I like the fact that he becomes a Summon if you defeat him, he was just too easy. That, and The Phantom Train was just awesome.

The Phantom Train. It's already pretty tough going through the train itself, and then you have to fight this sucker.
And yeah, bosses that can be killed in one hit in any way (barring extreme level-up or power stuff) stink.

he can be killed by lit3?? ARGH! Wish I'd known that. I spent a long time killing him the hard way before he did that insane attack.
Odin gets my vote, even if stupid lit3 will kill him. I don't know if I actually killed him when I had lit 3 though. I was busy summoning Leviathon though...

Will there be another winner from FFIV?
Odin-5
The Phantom Train-2
Wow, I'm really surprised that Odin won this battle. There were two quick votes not in his favor, but then massive support came his way.
Next Battle:
Ogopogo-After you are nearing the end of the Lunar Subtarrene, you will enter a new area where the music changes. On this first floor, go to the bottom and you will see a sword on a pedastal. Touch it, and you will fight Ogopogo. He has a fearsome Wave attack that can cause great damage if you aren't careful, but the reward for defeating him is well worth it; The Masamune for Edge.
vs.
Larry/Curly/Moe - They appear in Cyan's soul as the Three Dream Stooges. They work to help each other and have a special called Delta Attack that petrifies your characters. This is a move that belonged Cindy, Mindy and Sandy in other FFs.
Fight!
These are two great bosses to be honest, but since Larry/Curly/Moe are pretty much the same as the Magus Sisters, I'm going with Ogopogo.

rofl~. The three stooges were as easy as they come imo.
But Ogopogo, now I couldn't kill him at all.

Yeah, Larry, Curly and Moe are just a bad Delta Sisters knockoff, agreed. Ogopogo

In my rom, he had a different name. It was much cooler than Ogopogo. He still gets my vote though: Ogopogo
L/M/C is a dumb idea, just put the real Magus Sisters in! Even FFX had the Magus Sisters, I mean come on...
Ogopogo only took me one try though, I think. Just hard-hitting Bahamut and jumping and attacking and curing from Rosa. That whole last place annoyed me though, because I didn't have hardly any phoenix downs. :whatever:

Well, this it turning out to be dominated by FFIV for a change.
Ogopogo-5
Larry/Curly/Moe-0
Next Battle:
Calbrena-After you reach the Underground and enter the castle, Yang smells somebody sneaking around the Crystal. Head back into the Crystal Room, and you will encounter Cal & Brena in battle. There are six dolls in total, and they will combine to form Calbrena after a little while.
vs.
Doom Gaze - A dragon boss that you must chase around the world map with the Airship. It will run away, but keep chasing it and pounding it and it eventually dies. You get a very nice reward after you finally finish off the beast, very nice indeed.
Fight!
This one is relatively easy for me, in Doom Gaze.

Calbrena, very challenging, with all of the different forms and such, Doom gaze was extremely easy, I was expecting a tough fight from him.

Okey-dokey.
Calbrena-4
Doom Gaze-2
So it looks as if more people enjoyed fighting the dolls of destruction over the dragon.
Next Battle:
Rubicant-he is the final of the Four Fiends. Obviously, he is the Fiend of Fire, and is incredibly strong and difficult to defeat. The first time you face him shortly after acquiring Edge, he destroys the entire party in seconds flat. Later on in the game after you have gotten much stronger, you at least stand a fighting chance against him.
vs.
Umaro - He guards the Esper Terrato. He's weak at first, but becomes 100 times stronger. If Mog is with you, he recruits him once you win. If he joins your party, he is a deadly force for your enemies to reckon with.
Fight!
Forgot to pick one, so Rubicant.

Umaro --- Az is right. Bosses with ultra-strong elemental weaknesses are too easy.
