Interesting reply, and I agree. Stpid songs from the series cds sell much betgter, showing once again how conformist and musically-challenged most of this planet is. It's sad that Nathan Barr's music beyond season 2 will never be out. I do agree that a lot of the music is recycled, but there were some new great themes for characters or scenes.
As for my True Blood vs Dexter comment, all I was saying is that Dexter has 7 seasons of score, so I assumed that means Dexter is more popular, which I am not sure I buy. Yes, I have all 7 seasons of score for that and do love the show.
As for The Walking Dead, it's sickening that mix album they put out. Listened to samples on amazon and was so thankful I did not purchase it. Show has a huge follwing. Not sure why studio cannot see a score cd as a cash cow.

QUOTE=Sparktank 2.0;2429984]There are "volumed" OST's of True Blood containing only excerpts from various seasons of 3-5.
Check out their official website > shop (HBO.com).
My guess is that the studios don't believe people are interested in "score".
They would rather get the licences (for whatever they can afford) for a Various Artist album with all the rock songs.
Nathan Barr is so underrated and under-appreciated.
Then again, I don't see there being anything completely new and riveting since season 1.
There's a lot of recycled cues and sfx-music (hits, stingers, rises, etc).
It's very generic and redundant, imo. Maybe that's why they felt it's not worth it.
Comparing TB to D isn't very practical.
There are so many other HBO shows. Like Game of Thrones.
Your personal preference projects nothing towards belief. It's just an illusion and muddies up prospects.
I would see there being more Various Artist albums out for True Blood, but even that seems like it's non-existent.
You could always email the studio and inquire on the limited availability.
Maybe not enough voiced concerns for a score album?
The Walking Dead faced the issue of not enough voices demanding a score.
Although a lot of us here have voiced it, no one at the studios heard it.
On Bear McReary's official site/forum, he asked people to voice their opinions on an album release (like a petition).
Of course the number of registered and active members of his forum were far less than here that it barely made a noticeable impression (look at the P.O.S. "remix" album we got from them! LOOK AT IT!).
I blame the fans.
Too many instagrams and not enough actual, collective feedback.
Shame on them!
The True Death for them!

Hm. I misread their huge announcement on Facebook. When they announced a new CD out, I thought they meant the score.
I guess it's all just the VA crap albums.
I suppose they just hate Nathan Barr that much.[/QUOTE]
