Hello everyone
I know that this rips has sound effects and all that stuff, but still is always interesting to know what music is not included in the official releases.
So this is for the completionists like me.
enjoy :)
Brain Powerd:
I have finished to watch the show to see if i missed some tracks, but mostly all was in the official soundtracks, only that sometimes the tracks were so mixed with other tracks or they put instrumental versions of vocal songs that sounded a little different.
Very Underrated Show by the way

Macross Frontier:
Macross is my favorite franchise and I was very happy that Yoko Kanno was returning for it, but they leave the better tracks out of the releases and even if i really like the vocal songs, the BGM was so much better.
The name of tracks I took them ( mostly ) from this thread Macross Frontier Music Rundown - Movies and TV Series - Macross World Forums (

In Kanno's case that might seem so because her production values for anime are so high, but typically anime music functions more on the level of game music: individual, all-purpose tracks written out of context and used wherever they fit. It's rare to find anime that is scored scene to scene, mood to mood, and even Kanno just tends to resuse pieces when scoring the movie adaptations of Turn A Gundam and Escaflowne.
Interestingly, though, Macross Frontier is showing more of a concern for scene to scene scoring, especially that one moment in episode 10 that was very impressive. If we don't hear that cue again, you could probably cite that moment as the best example of Western-style scoring in an anime series.
You know what is the worst thing??
Googling Macross Frontier unrealesed tracks FFshrine and giving me links to buy the dvds. XD
Personally, Yoko Kanno does not fit in Macross. I hated the soundtrack in Macross Plus. But hearing the soundtrack cds, and not thinking its Macross.. I like it.
I have the same problem with Macross Frontier.... and I am not complaining on Jack Sparrow cues.
Yoko Kanno style, just does not fit in Macross. :/
I have not finished the series yet, but the only track that really seems to fit much better is the one not released in the soundtracks. the Vajra Battle song, mixed with electronic.
I like Macross Frontier soundtrack, but... it's not Macross. Even Kuniaki Haishima got it right in ZERO.
Honestly when I first heard the soundtracks, I was not seeing the anime, as the soundtracks actually gave me the feeling of not watching it. More Vocal tracks then actual score ones. And I was incredibly afraid of watching it and die of disappointment, as I am a fan of Macross. Too bad the soundtrack cds get to boring enough for not wanting see it. Now That I finally took balls to see it. F**K you Yoko Kanno XD
oh. and thanks for the help Luigi :p

I feel the opposite
The first Macross I actually saw was Macross Plus also the first time i heard a Yoko Kanno soundtrack and it was the reason continue watching.
The soundtracks are just so different because the saga has only the same elements but the aproach is different- They are diferente kind of stories that only share the same universe. Frontier is the exception however. I`m not gonna lie. I had a blast watching Frontier. It was a time where i was very tired of anime in general, but i decidad to give it a try and I enjoyed. Sure it not was very original, but in a time like this i where anime tries to de edgy I founded really innocent and simple. It knows what it wants to be, a cellebration of the 25 years of the saga and it does that very well. Not even the cliches of the story bother me.
Love the score also, specially the ones that sound like John Williams and David Arnold tracks. But anyway I like every score of Macross, since well you are talking with a Macross Fanboy.
I do really hope however that the next Macross history has other kind of approach. This one was okay but just for once. I would kill for a Noir Type of Saga in the Macrossworld xD

Listening to Kentaroh Haneda rigth now
He is the best :P
well you are talking with a Macross Fanboy.
Liar XD
I have been loving Frontier a lot. Macross as yet to disappoint me. And so much references they make with the other stories, is so...
Macross Fanboy.
This story is well made and well written. HELL! We have a snipper mecha. 0.0
You don't see that everyday. At the same time, Shoji brought us new stuff, so we would not look at it and "Look. more of the same".
First time I heard yoko kanno...was escaflwone, cowboy bebop and brain powerd. yes. the 3 shows at the same time and age. XD
I like Yoko Kanno: but in Macross..... :/ I just don't... get in the mood.
I would kill for a Noir Type of Saga in the Macrossworld xD
Dude. Leave the drugs out. XD
How would something like that would turn out? Now I am curious.

Finally a meet someone who likes Frontier
Everyone with I talk about it says that is Moegarbage, full of fanservice
This people hate joy
I should say the same.
Finally someone who likes Brain Powerd enough to see it 8 times. Brain Powerd keeps on getting slammed because of flaws of animation and that it sucks. Yes, the animation could have been good, but money was the problem at the time, as the production kept on having bad luck, so they had to cut a bit in animation, but even that, I personally like the animation, and how animated comic it turn out when they are on the cockpits. The story is not that bad as everyone keeps pointing as being super bad. For me the plot is very cool and all those plot twists you get and character development is really good. I wish they had done an OVA just for giving a True ending for it. The ending was awesome, but you felt like a second season was coming.
The reason I think many people did not like Macross Frontier, is not the fan service. Although in all episodes they give those intro narration to let you know more or less about the macross world, you still have a lot of stuff that Fans Only catch up, including certain jokes.
Because face it, Shoji Kawamori did not made Macross Frontier cared about the new wave of likers of anime. He did it with much respect for the fans. Either those people like it or not, it was made for fans, and only fans get a lot of points taken there. And the other thing is that Macross was always all about music. I don't think "New People" would really understand the idea of Macross.
Macross Frontier took a hell of time to be finished. By the time Shoji brought us Genesis of Aquarion, Frontier was half finished. Aquarion was a just a test of skills for the new animation in CGI for the Mechas. Aquarion was the test subject for Macross Frontier. Shoji Kawamori has never disappointed me.
Even Escalfowne movie, everyone keeps on talking bad about it, but I love the movie. The movie is just a Gaiden story. And very good one. I love it.
I might sound like Shoji Kawamori fanboy, but it is true, most of times I am afraid of what is coming and I end being surprised by the positive with him.
I prefer Shoji to take a lot of time on working on something and doing it good, then doing it faster and ending up in crap. Which happens a LOT.
I am loving Frontier, but I am not really wanting to see the movies. Gekijoubans??? AGAIN???
Macross Ai Oboete Imasuka?, Macross Plus Movie edition, were movies ... alternate retelling of the original plot... It's a waste of time. I thought it was movies to end the story or something like that. I asked a macross friend of mine, and she said they are not actually new, just alternate retelling.
For now I am not really into the movies. :/ I am not saying I will never see... But the fact of a retelling is keeping me way.
Macross Zero and Macross DO you Remember Love? are my most favorite Macross projects ever. What are yours?

I would not call the movies a waste of time, since well sometimes they handle better some pacing and plot progression (on the Macross Plus movie) and sure they are the same core story but with also a lot of new ideas, different relationships between the characters. I alwas loved in Do you remember love the idea of the zentran and meltran having a gender war. On Frontier case is also the same core story but with a lot of plot twists to have their own identity ( the first movie use some footage of the series mixed with a lot of new animation and the second movie is all new animation, other plotwists and a more conclusive ending ). This are more in the vein of Do you remember love?.
I also tend to watch everything Kawamori does ( I even found his AKB0048 series very engaging and fun) .The guy has some crazy ideas that really knows how to execute them. I also like Aquarion, sure it was kind of dumb but the show was self aware and just roll with it. It was some of the most entertaining series I have seen.
My favorite Macross are of course the original tv series and Macross 7, damn that show was frustating at first but then it turns awesome in some way xD
By the way I also rip this. If you like Kaneda you migth enjoy it

Hey!! No Spoilers. I am still watching it. XD
Do you remember Love? had a great idea on it. Dude, I shed tears when Ranka started to sing "Do you Remember Love?". I felt so... 5 year old kid. :D
God, I love that song. Maybe, I might see the movies. :/ still not in mood. But you said, conclusive ending.... that said, you just fished me out. :p
I didn't know AKB0048 was him. I was not very fond with the first pictures. lot of girls, made me think of what perverted stuff might had. I am afraid of japanese anime nowadays. So I tend to run from things like that.
Aquarion was silly, but it did manage to get into you. The soundtrack, Yoko Kanno, was so awesome. I still remember when I first heard "Mechanical Angel Aquarion". Love at first sight is a bitch. You tend not to never let go. XD
Because of Macross Frontier, I am hopeful for Aquarion EVOL. :)
Never saw Macros7 :( sadly.
I own some vhs tapes and dvds of other macross stuff. and I have seen everything from macross.... except... macross 7. Just did not had the opportunity to do so.
And thanks for the recommendation ;)

Don`t worry
AKB0048 is not that kind of anime. Is actually very innocent also, like Macross Frontier. If you like this one you migth enjoy it. Give it 3 episodes.
Evol is also very entertaining. Is Kawamori going wild more of usual.
That is his magic. The guy has fun making his series and is capable to transmit that to the viewer.
Shoji Kawamori ans Satoshi Kon (RIP the last one :()
They are Original
