First, see this post and parent message:

For remote-served images, some can see my images, some can't. I can see them fine in Chrome. OTOH ... I get FFS error messages when I try to upload an image --either from URL or from my PC... something about quota exceeded. And this happens regardless of image size.

Using the Linux browser konqueror (light and not very capable) I saw the "forbidden" icon in the place of the fist image. Then loaded the image address alone in a different tab and, once cached, after a refresh, it showed up perfectly. I'd say that the "jpeg" extension had something to do and that it's an atypical case.
With Chrome/Firefox/Epiphany the images are shown OK.

Regarding the error messages, yes, I read that the default storage quota is very small. You can save there your avatar and things like that, but people don't use it for covers.

The users that have troubles with that image provider (pixogs.com , right?) could tell you which ones work well in their area: imgur.com , imageshack.us or other.

i have not ever been possible to upload any image direct for ffshrine. img tags working with photobucket/imageshack or such work fine though. i would google for image of album you upload and link from the site it finds.

Many years ago you could indeed upload images direct into a post as an attachment from what I remember, but I think that ability has long since been suspended. In any event, just register on one of the free image uploader hosts (Photobucket, Imageshack etc) and then post the image as a link to it in your post.

Create a free account with Imgur. I like that one a lot.
Then when you upload an image to Imgur, you'll get a list of links to use on forums.

The one that says "BBCode (message boards & forums)" is the one you want.

Click on the little "paper icon" and it will copy the link to your clipboard.

Then just paste it in the post.

It will look like this when you post...

Then when you finish/submit your post, it will convert into the linked image...

Seconding the imgur.com recommendation. There's really nothing that compares. Super easy to use.
