Patrick John Michael OHara Scott, born 1 November 1930, Bristol, England. After being
very active in the 60s pop scene, Scott has developed into a respected film music composer, now
living in London and Hollywood. During his early career he acted as staff arranger with the Ted
Heath band, playing saxophone, clarinet, harp and flute; for many years he was regarded as one
of Englands foremost jazz flautists. Johnny Scott (as he was then known) also played in the
Woody Herman orchestra, and arranged for Bert Ambrose. He claimed to have learned much
from Henry Mancini, when playing for him on flute and saxophone in London sessions for films
including Charade and Arabesque. For a while he worked closely with John Barry in
The John Barry Seven, and played on Barrys scores for Beat Girl (1959) and The Whisperers
(1967), as well as on several early James Bond movies. His growing interest in composition led
him to offer his work to mood music publishers for their recorded music libraries, for the use of
radio, film and television companies. Scotts music was published by Keith Prowse, Peer
International and Boosey & Hawkes. His score for a 1965 promotional film Shellarama
brought offers for his first feature film, A Study In Terror (1965), which he wrote as
Patrick John Scott.
The People That Time Forgot is a 1977 fantasy/adventure film based on the novel
by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It was produced by Britain's Amicus Productions and directed by
Kevin Connor. Like Connor's other two Burroughs-derived films, The Land That Time Forgot and
At the Earth's Core, the film was distributed in the United States by American International Pictures.
The film is a direct sequel to The Land That Time Forgot, which initiated the series in 1975.
The story follows a rescue expedition, led by Patrick Wayne in search of his friend, played by
Doug McClure, who had vanished many years before. The expedition lands on Caprona, the same
fantastic prehistoric land where dinosaurs and barbarian tribes of men coexist.
Far from Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog is a 1995 adventure film starring Jesse Bradford
and directed by Phillip Borsos. Teenager Angus (Bradford) adopts a Yellow Labrador Retriever and names
him Yellow. Several days later, while traveling along the coast of British Columbia with Angus's father,
the boy and dog become stranded when turbulent waters capsize their boat. Angus's parents relentlessly
badger rescue teams. Angus, schooled by his father in wilderness survival skills, and assisted by
the intelligent Yellow Dog, tries to attract rescuers. Starvation, freezing temperatures, violent
rainstorms, and a pack of wolves test Angus' and Yellow's courage and abilities to survive as they
journey through the Canadian wilderness. Angus is eventually rescued but has to leave Yellow behind.
Angus is later shown at home sitting on his porch; he blows his dog whistle and Yellow comes
running back home.
