Dump you z7 files.

If you are still having a problem with the file, you could try either WinRar or 7-zip to extract (both are very standard and handle every single archive format). Please let me know when that fails so I could upload it in the format of your choice. :)

Win Rar will not open it.

It worked fine for me I just tried it.

So did I. FIVE times the file will not open. The file doesn't look right.

Dunno I can upload my copy if you want.

Let me know.

In flac? Sure.

I download an icon that has the UNRAR yellow floating in the center of a white square- instead of filling the whole square. My unrar doesn't open that. I am not interested in downloading z7 unzip because it fouls my computer with sneeky little bits of unwanted software and grabs my browser.

Debussy - Nocturnes, La damoiselle lue, Le Martyre de saint Sbastien

Extracted the open source 7-Zip archive, re-packed in a RAR archive for Phideas1.

Why would I mind? Saved me the time although it's never a bother for me especially when Phideas is concerned.

Thanks again.

I was just curious as to why he had the problem in the first place I used WinRar and had no issues.

WinRar didn't work for me too.
I had to use 7-zip.

Keep in mind that Phideas' mind is wee perplexed with computers. When I add a new program to this perfidious (no puns!) machine I break out in a cold sweat, fearing I have turned it into a very expensive paperweight on the desk. But thank you Double-Dubbaya-Pea & Herr Salat. ;-) Sitting in a pool of my own tears is such a fatuous thing. :-(

Quite apart from the fact that 7z archives are easy to use... in the real world, they really don't serve any purpose. Most people have the ability to open RARs, and everybody has the ability to open ZIPs. Differences as far as achieved compression are completely negligible. Why not just plump with ZIP or RAR?

I know some people (NOT pointing the finger at anybody here) like to use esoteric archivers just to be awkward - and because they enjoy screaming "It's FREE, don't be such a moron! Just download XYZ software and enjoy the music!" which is a valid comment... but at the same time, there really is no reason not to use a more standard format.

The folk who are comfortable with different formats will not care because they'll open it anyway... and the folk who are a little more guarded will thank you for providing something in a format that doesn't require them to jump through pointless hoops to open...

I'm too old and too wary for hoop jumping. I even get nervous when a program wants to be automatically updated- just after I finally figured how to work the blasted thing. One of the nicest/awful thing to happen to my computer years ago was the hard drive died. Happily all but one special text is stored on external hard drives. So I had to have it replaced. It was wonderful to have a computer that was a blank slate. None of the junk that is always loaded on when you make that initial purchase.

I will never understand this new technology. Just because it is NEW does not mean it is GOOD... or even necessary.

Years ago I attended a local Photoshop Users meeting. Initially I felt out of the loop because the lecture was on the latest Photoshop program that I did not own. I watched as these geniuses struggled to get the extension cords on a projector to function ("Uh-huh," I muttered into the cup of my hand). Finally they were giddy with excitement to show off the new bells and whistles but it was quickly apparent they weren't as yet experts and another struggle ensued to accomplish a series of tasks. After fifteen minutes they beamed with success, and I thought, "I could have done all that in two minutes with my superannuated Photoshop program."

I often feel like that character in the old Twilight Zone episode where the machines chase him down the stairs of his home.

(The file down loaded very quickly, thank you all again)

It's a habit from the ol' Mediafire days (they blocked .rars). Advice respectfully taken. My future uploads will be in rar. :)

And thank you Herr Salat for being helpful as always
