Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is one of my absolute favorite scores by Hans Zimmer, but I am SOOOOOO disappointed by the OST, because not even 1/4 of the music heard in the movie is on it...and the music in the movie that actually is on the OST is played to quickly or maybe to slowly...
I just don't understand why all those unused songs have to be on the album instead of Zimmer's great score!
So I am now asking publicly if ANYONE has this great score...and I wonder if that ANYONE would like to share it with me publicly or privately...:)

I 2nd this motion! I am extremely grateful that we finally got a complete version of the first SH score, one of my absolute favorite scores (and what had become a major grail) in recent years... Can only hope someone will lay this one on us too!

In case someone could offer you that privately, what would you offer in return?

jmn77, maybe it's about time you and I make amends. The first thought that came into my mind upon seeing this thread was "How quickly can I turn this thread into a circle jerk about how stupid Garage is?" since that very same thing happened to me the last time I made a request as bold as this one.
But then I saw your post. It is good to know that you and I can agree on at least one thing. The official release of this score was a joke: not only did it barely contain any music actually heard in the film, but Zimmer also felt the need to speed up the whole album by between 5% and 10% compared to how it is supposed to sound according to the film. I have heard faint whispers of demos existing for this score and I can, without a doubt, settle for even those over the OST.
And then it comes full circle. foxtown, if you're doing what I think you're doing, don't bother. It's a fake.

Why should someone share something that rar as SH2 for free? I guess no "normal" user has it and if a trader has it he wants something similar rar in return, I suppose.
So it was a theoretical question.

Oh, maybe a demo score circling around...
that's great news:)
and for foxtown:
Yes, I'd offer rare titles in return...

This fixed the speed up of the OST you can say about 95% fit to the film,
Thread 127919 not so bad and now is more enjoyable than the original soundtrack at least until the complete score get leaked... ;)

So it was a theoretical question.
Fair enough. It is quite difficult to differentiate between a theoretical question and a true hidden opportunity through text on the internet.

Which HZ album is not a joke? Inception was bad, A&D was bad... they just don't seem to understand what we want to have on those albums.

Indeed all Zimmer albums are bad, but Holmes 2 is the worst...

The music played over the Bachelor Party where Sherlock and Madam Simza fight off that Gypsy during Watson's bachelor party would just make my day wet.
Ann Marie Calhoun was the female violin soloist.

It was named that by Garage...I had to look up what cosacco meant as I was not entirely sure it was an English word. Actually I'm still not sure, and I'm not even certain whether either of us spelled it right.

Yes it is some like an old Irish song re-composed by hans zimmer, it is a kind of an old tradition, and like this old song thus called ''Congress Reel'' but the film song is better....... The Congress Reel - YouTube (

I downloaded an MP3 web rip of a version of Congress Reel from Poitn's website.
Might be the same version used to upload to youtube.
I would order the CD for a lossless rip but they have two CD's: original release in... ohhh '98? And then a remastered version recently.
But I have no idea if the one for purchase is the remaster or not.
OR if the remaster is any better! Honestly, sometimes remastering isn't worth all the bells and whistles.
I wish they would have samples of both versions before committing to purchasing.
Otherwise, I just have to buy both CD's.

It seems that "cosacco" is Italian.
"Cossack" is the actual word used in the film.

Yep, that's kind of what I'd been figuring. I know I ran it through a translator when I first came across the word....Do you know who else is Italian?
Someone really should post Garage's "editated" expanded score so people won't be able to use it in trades anymore.

Yeah, that's typically how it goes. And that's kind of why I stopped going to see movies, or going back and watching movies I've seen before, or even watching movies to which I listened to the score first. In all situations, I always come out of the movie disappointed that the only music openly available for the stuff is inferior or nowhere near to all of what you hear in the movie. It is such a shame that everything has to be this way.

Intrada, LaLaLand, Perseverance Records, Prometheus Records... They need to become commercial conglomerates to overthrow the weak Water Tower Music and Sony Pictures and anyone else who believes music is too expensive to give to the fans.
You try watching a movie without music.
And I don't mean the ones that already exist.
I mean every movie.
Action, romance, comedy.
