COuld you guys suggest the aforementioned genre to me? I want to listen to anything, Film, VG, Anime, whatever. Use of synthasizers and creepiness are welcome. Doesn't have to be explicitly battle music or fast passed.

Have you tried the Star Wars ~ Knights of the Old Republic OST (by Jeremy Soule)? It has a definite epic John Williams feel to it, but is has enough unique elements to stand apart from it's forebear.

Other than that, best thing I can suggest is to browse some of the threads in this section, there's quite a few threads about specific game/film music topics with examples you might like. :)
