Welcome to the Umineko no Naku Koro Ni thread!
(Umineko: When They Cry, or When They Cry 3)
Also the general Ryukishi07 thread!

The Lossless Collection of Umineko Songs: Version 1.6 download:

Old version 1.0 (password is gaap)
https://mega.nz/#!ssRX3KJD!AuaxEg2JJwCcOpeM6oFq20sv6752psEI_Af8zeCcp7s
Updated the link in the OP with the 'game versions' of the first opening and Ricordando il Passato being included with their full versions. I had also forgotten to include 'Fishy Aroma' aka 'Suspicion's Fragrance' in my initial upload many years ago, which I had missed somehow. It is now included
[/spoiler]
This is a collection cobbled together from every possible lossless rip, including my very own rips, of Umineko CDs that were released by the artists that worked on Umineko of their own accord. Since there was never a 'complete soundtrack' released of Umineko, this was made as an all-in-one solution to the problem of having to download dozens of random CDs for one track that had to do with Umineko
A quick overview: the Umineko games are visual novels. The writer, Ryukishi07, specifically refers to his own creations as "sound novels", and boy does that mean something for this thread!
THE 'WHEN THEY CRY' SERIES
Often thought of as a 'mystery and horror' writer, Ryukishi carves an interesting niche in the world of visual novels. He focuses instead on the strengths of the genre to tell a story with suspense and horror elements, instead of filling his work with sexual content to increase sales. He dared the reader to solve the mystery of the story before all the episodes were released - a bit of that magic is gone now that the years have passed, but some still remains.

On the left, one of the Higurashi sound novels. In the center, the Higurashi anime. On the right, an Umineko episode.
If you've heard of the anime Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, it wasn't originally an anime at all. It was a series of visual novel "episodes" that Ryukishi07 wrote between 2002 and 2006 - that eight-novel series was so well received that it instantly put him on the map in the VN industry. An anime adaptation of the Higurashi games soon followed, and even if it wasn't entirely good enough to stand up to the source material, it was also beloved.
Umineko no Naku Koro Ni is "When They Cry 3", and the two halves to Higurashi are "When They Cry 1" and "When They Cry 2" which makes this a series.
There was a botched Umineko anime that we don't talk about, by the way. There are also tenuous connections between the two series, as well, since Bernkastel appears in both Higurashi and Umineko and background characters reappear.
The main point of all this is that Higurashi had a few amazing tracks, but for the most part Ryukishi relied on free, publically available tracks. His lack of resources to create a soundtrack for Higurashi outside of his few connections showed back then. As Umineko came around, he decided, 'Well hell, I might as well bring on the best music artists I know and recruit them using my newfound connections and money as the creator of Higurashi!'
If you've ever heard of zts, Silver Forest, pre-holder, Luck Ganriki, dai, -45, or M. Graveyard at all, they all come out in force in the Umineko games. The soundtrack to these games reads like an allstar list of some of the best doujin music creators in Japan, and you have probably seen or heard their work if you follow Comiket. Also, dai returns to do amazing work for Umineko just like he made the best tracks in the entire Higurashi series.

See this image right here? This is a screenshot of every song that actually appears in the Umineko games. The white lines are crossing out duplicates, and the red Xes are songs not available in lossless because:
1. I don't have the last CD I need to get the final track for the 'CD release completion.'
Lostwing - Umineko no Naku Koro ni image songs - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/30978)
I need a lossless rip of this CDs.
2. The other songs were actually never, ever released on any CD at all, and the only version that exists is either a remix on some random guy's CD or ingame, in low bitrate .ogg
Every song not marked by something is available in lossless, and that's where my next link comes in.
I have compiled this, which I plan on updating if more of these tracks become available to me/in the future one of these artists finally releases these on a CD.
The only things that are missing are 1. Ryu-Ga's tracks, since he only released one CD with one song that was umineko related here:
Lostwing - Umineko no Naku Koro ni image songs - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/30978)
2. SB YUNE's tracks, since SB YUNE never released any CDs that are available to buy or download on the entire internet, so I can't get Victima Propaciatoria or Dread of the Grave.
Lastly, a couple tracks that the artist never put on a CD release and only exist as a low bitrate .ogg inside the game.
EDIT: nyaa.eu no longer exists. It is dead. I will be hosting CDs in this thread instead.
E: If you want to download specific tracks, instead of this whole collection, stop by Nyaa.si. Link here:

This may become a multipurpose thread for everything Ryukishi07 related, as he has also written Higanbana and Rose Gun Days.
EDIT: 10/13/13
I'll be hosting harder to find Umineko CDs (some of these have tracks that appear in this archive) in this thread, too.
