Only information in French, but VERY GOOD COMPOSER ( true listen ;) ), make think to Yann Tiersen music sometimes, by the minimalist Piano and the "simplicity" in appearance of the Compositions !!!

Aurore Gagnon (May 31, 1909 - February 12, 1920), was a victim of child abuse in the town of Fortierville, Quebec.

She died of exhaustion and blood poisoning from some 52 wounds inflicted by her stepmother, Marie-Anne Houde, and her father, T�lesphore Gagnon.

Aurore Gagnon was the second of four children of Marie-Anne Caron and T�lesphore Gagnon. After Marie-Anne Caron was hospitalized with tuberculosis in 1916, Telesphore's cousin's widow Marie-Anne Houde and her six children moved in with T�lesphore Gagnon.

On November 6, 1917, Aurore's younger brother Joseph Gagnon died at the age of two under mysterious circumstances. A week after the death of his wife in 1918, T�lesphore Gagnon married Marie-Anne Houde. Although villagers were suspicious when two of her children subsequently died, there was no investigation. Their abuse of Aurore escalated (T�lesphore beat her with an axe handle). In September 1919, the ten-year-old Aurore was hospitalized for more than a month at the "H�tel-Dieu de Qu�bec" due to a severe leg infection caused by a beating. Released back into her parents' care, Aurore was beaten by Marie-Anne Houde until her death in 1920.

The cause of death was said to be poison, not knowing if her death was because of infected wounds or if Aurore was poisoned to death. Marie-Anne Houde was sentenced to be hanged for murder, but her sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. She was paroled for "health reasons" after serving fifteen years and died of breast cancer in May 1936. T�lesphore Gagnon was convicted of manslaughter and was released from prison for "good behaviour" after serving only five years. He returned to his hometown where he remarried, and died peacefully in 1961

Tragedies Canadians have given us excellent film songs.
In 1984 Georges Delerue with the beautiful Thread 113009 in 2004 was the time of Thread 129662
The pain, lost love, innocence debased were sonified by them.
Here, a simple but eloquent music.
R�al L�veill�' piano in addition to transcribe the bruises and wounds of Aurore Gagnon, dramatic colors can paint on the personality of their tormentors (track 5).
Great moments of tenderness and serenity without damaging the guiding principle of the score is in the voices of Christine Williams & �milie Labelle (10,18,19)
The track 20 ends in the form of a prayer and collected without heartache.
The whole soundtrack is beautiful .... resembles a pastoral.
To me before the tragic story of the girl ... but it seemed The Rachel's Song (Jeremiah, 31:15 & Matthew, 2:18) are so many around the world crying their sons and daughters the victims of heinous acts, often under the cloak of legality.
