Moved this into where it should be - a topic in General FF Discussion is not the place to ask this.

Secondly, no, accounts are not deleted. There is a disclaimer on the top of this site even before you join warning of this very thing.

In any event, have a nice day! :D

@Noodleness : Firstly, if you had of posted this in the appropriate forum in the first place, it wouldn't of needed to be moved. Secondly, if you had bothered to read the many threads created by other cheapskates who are asking the same thing as you, you'd find your answer there. Thirdly, I'll answer your inane question: Accounts are not deleted from this forum, as it is the forum policy to keep all accounts active. If you don't like that, or are fearful of the government tracking your IP because you are a cheapskate who downloads stuff for free, then you are SOL, as this site keeps track of all IP's of it's members which can then be forwarded to the appropriate authorities if required.

However, if you genuinely joined and don't like the atmosphere, then simply changed your password to some longwinded nonsensical word which you'll forget and move on.

IP isn't a person, just saying.
Try not to feed into the kids paranoia.

Also:
No, it can't be, but you COULD remove your avatar/profile picture to less the load on the site.

I never implied that it was Tanis. Anyone who has used a computer knows what a IP address is and what it means to them. Also it's not paranoia really, how do you think all those file sharing sites were shutdown? All due to the IP addresses which were logged into said site's mainframe.

Depending on the site they were shutdown because lawyers showed they had received DMCAs and didn't take the content down.

Others shutdown to avoid any legal hassles and still more were shutdown ILLEGALLY by lobbyists using governments as their dog.

Whatever, believe what you want Tanis. All I know is because of the cheapskates who can't be bothered to go out and buy the anime/music/movies/tv shows with their own money, only have themselves to blame when those items are not being made any more, due to lack of revenue their parent company hasn't received.

It's not 'belief', it's facts.
If politicians had to wear jackets like NASCAR drivers do...they'd need to wear at least two a day.

Yes, and people were saying that when the VHS and DVD players came out.

Remember Napstar? How's Metallica doing again?

If you make a quality product, people WILL buy it.
My first Metallica CD, I bought BECAUSE I listened to songs from it on Napster all those years ago.
Same idea goes for Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Eric Clapton, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc.

Not sure where Your Holiness is getting his information, but it sounds like it's out of date.

Because I'm sick to death of cheapskate fuckwits who think they are entitled to content without paying for it. Napstar, LiveWire and all the other filesharing programs, while they initially had good goals, have led to increase prices for products as well as DRM, online passes etc for videogams, all due to the malcontents who pirate the material and try to make some bank off it or flog it off for free just to get back at a imagined threat.

You used Napstar? Good for you, want a fucking medal? I don't care about that. What I do care about is fucking idiots who join this site solely for downloading stuff for free because they can't be bothered to go out and buy it legitmately. If you don't like what I have to say Tanis, then too bad. You choose to believe that, and that's your choice. In any event, I'm done with this post... respond however you like, I don't care.
