Yes, I edited the original versions of cues (alternates/early cues), and some unused cues, and restored choir to cues that had the choir dialed out in the CR's

And I got the image from a wallpaper I got someplace.

Great work Faleel! Some of the alternate takes (not included above) were actually microedited into the standard release. There is an alternate take of a passage in Fighting Uruk-hai which is only found on the standard release in the track The Great River. There are several other alternate takes to be found, but I can't list them all.

Since these threads are new and relevant, I figured I'd ask. Has anyone EVER seen slates to ANY of the LotR scores, or even any Howard Shore score for that matter?

I was always disappointed that the theatrical version of Khazad-D�m with the Maori chorus at the forefront (when the Fellowship first descends the stairs) could not be had on any of the soundtracks released. Don't suppose this is ameliorated here?

What do you mean they "skip around"?

Say the track is exactly one minute long. It'll get to 00:52 or something, and skip to 00:59.

It's worse on my iPod. The track, at 00:52, will skip back to 00:48 and continue playing from there. Therefore, I miss the last five seconds or so in both scenarios.

Ahh, thats a problem with your iPod, iTunes does not work with music not made with iTunes, and since I edited alot of the music with Audacity it causes iTunes/the iPod to skip, if you set iTunes to convert from 320kbps mp3 to 256kbps AAC before it syncs, then it should play without a hitch.

I would say its done, there is no real sources for anymore material at this time.

As I was making revisions to the artwork I noticed that tracks 63 and 65 are both titled "The Great River (Theatrical Version 2)"

well, there are more tracks now, so that is where the difference is coming from.

Ah...I am a bit confused then. I thought the revision tracks were meant to replace the previous ones, so there would still be 75 tracks total.

But if some of the revisions are new tracks to be added in, then that would explain the rest of the track numbers changing.

Perhaps (when you get some time) you might be able to post the newest, complete track list? Of course, if that's too much work I'll just try to figure it out.

... are you sure? I have put a lot of my music though Audacity and none of it is messed up in iTunes.

Do you use v2.0.3?

Audio from Audacity should be saved in WAV then converted to MP3 with newer codecs.
The MP3 codec in Audacity is a custom build that's vastly outdated.
I talked to one of the devs about it and they said they don't have time (right now) to update the Lame MP3 encoder/decoder or the FFmpeg libraries they use.

Lame is up to 3.99.5 right now. Audacity uses 3.98? :erm: 3.97?? :itsamystery:

I downloaded two of the smallest parts and did an "Integrity check" with them in Foobar and they turned up clean.
Grabbing the largest part and will give this a good listen.

According to Foobar, an integrity check on the main archive shows minor decoding errors.

Try running them through Foobar's "fix vbr MP3 header..." and give them another listen.

I always hated how the film and CR edited Balin's Tomb after the Fellowship Theme. I always wanted to mix the OST track of Khazad Dum with the parts of Balin's Tomb and Khazad Dum from the CR to make a unique complete piece. I tried a few years ago using Audacity, but you could tell it was edited by the extremely brief silence when switching sources.

I've listened to these versions by Faleel and the complete recordings and am looking for some clarification.

Faleel's version is basically how the score was written by Shore for the movies before PJ edited it...is this right or am I missing something? I know there are some additional pieces of music that Faleel added in here, but just wanted to know the main difference between this and the commercial/complete release. I can listen to ROTK CR and know that some pieces of music are definitely missing.

That is mostly true, there are times when a track has different versions edited together musically.
