So, between the two archives, we have two separate tracks that are titled "Brass Buttons (Film Version)." The one that came in the original archive is 7:29 in length, the one that came in the "extra cues" archive is 7:20. Are we supposed to replace the old one with the new one? I mean, there can't be TWO film versions!

The instrumental Song of the Lonely MOuntain Alternates are fantastic, but the brass cue of the Misty Mountains tjhat WB didn't feel like including on their 'special edition' sounds marvellous! Well. It's great. It's certainly a good listening experience. SFX is present and at times a little jarring when it rears it's head but it doesn't detract from a great collection of unreleased music. This is probably the best we'll get until the Complete Recordings are released (whenever that may be) so I heartily recommend that everyone who wants more music from The Hobbit download as it's the best we're going to get for the foreseeable future. Well done to Faleel on an amazing rip!

Not to insult your good work, but that sounds worse than the original rip. It's a bit too... harsh. I'm going to stick with your original rip. I don't understand much about MAGIX but I just feel that this is a bit too rough and most of the music is lost. Good Attempt to remove the SFX though!

I definitely agree with you, (though I will say that some tracks have a bit more subtle removal (basically when there was barely anything to remove at all lol) then others.) I just figured I would post it as an option.

My memory of the theater (backed up by a low-def camera recording) was that it was a re-use of the recording from "One Ring to Rule Them All," but the version you have in "It Cannot Be" is clearly a new recording, and, more intriguingly, the lyrics are not the same as either "Revelation of the Ringwraiths" or "The Nazgul." Methinks there might be more intention behind the inclusion of this music than I initially gave them credit for having.

My Dear Frodo (2nd Alternate) - Used the version of the Erebor theme, that was dropped into Up Into The Trees in the film.

My Dear Frodo (Film Version) - Restored some missing notes, added a missing percussion element, that got dropped from the mix when I used the Blu-rip

Boat - replaced rip with clean version from SE

Riddles in the Dark (Film Version) - replaced certain sections, with clean versions from the SE, and cleaned up the Misty Mountain theme statement at the end

Doug Adams has said that IF they decide to do a Complete Recordings set, it would be after film 3 is released. For now we have to deal with 25% of actual released music and SFX rips.

Apparently, the CR sets from the Rings' trilogy was a release which only applies to a niche market - turns out there's not many people out there who are big on soundtracks or collecting them. I honestly doubt we'll see CR sets from the Hobbit films as critically and from fan bases, it isn't as much of a hit as the original trilogy was, sadly.

That, and the fact that like 35% of the music in the film is tracked from The Lord of the Rings anyways.

Seriously, I just watched the new Extended Edition of An Unexpected Journey yesterday... there's no new music for the new sequences. It's either taken from other areas in the film, or tracked from The Lord of the Rings. A sequence with Bilbo as a kid at one of Gandalf's firework parties uses the same music from Bilbo's 111th birthday party in Fellowship. An extended look at The Shire in The Hobbit uses the same music from The Shire in Fellowship...

I really hope they compose more original music for The Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again. The amount of tracked music in An Unexpected Journey is too damn high!

I think we will get a more complete edition of the soundtrack eventually. Maybe not a complete recordings, but probably a Super ultra special deluxe edition.

I only ripped the Goblin town track so far. And it's really rough because I kept the dialogue up to the part where they scream "~IT'S AN ABOMINATION! ~Abominations, mutations, deviations…that all you're gonna find down here."

I haven't gotten around to doing better edits (yet).

Nice, i will listen. Wonder why no body but me has done the film edits of Return of the king... The film sequence is different... Pippin's mission, Osgiliath invaded, lighting the beacons, sam and frodo parting, faramir leaving etc all re-edited. Not great listening experience as original but still...
