My all time grail!!

Someone must have the sessions in good quality - the poor quality sessions leak a couple of years back suggests there has to be a proper set of master copies floating somewhere...PLEASE!!!!!!!

Unless you have the keys to composer James Horner's home, forget it. Even the record labels have said he is the only person with the master recordings.

Horner is a dog owner.

Just sayin'.

I have no idea who leaked those take 1 / take 2 sessions, but they couldn't have come from him directly because the quality was indeed beyond terrible.

When the first CD release of the score came in 2001, GNP Crescendo had to use a vinyl LP source for the album, because Horner (through his agents) requested they don't go forward with any album release at all and would not turn over the masters for album usage. Only reason I know that is because one of the heads of La-La Land Records was working at GNP at the time, and said as much on the FSM messageboard.

Yes. Horner still feels embarassed by the "school band" performance of the score in some places, such as the brass flubs. Pity, cause I enjoy the references to STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE. This was very influenced by Goldsmith...
