We have seen many leaks this week. I am being blamed for all of them. ALL. I did not do one of them, but nonetheless I am being held accountable. By whom do you ask? How can that be, no one owns the music, and no rules were broken. Wrong. Their rules. Rules that say these links had better stop. I was messaged by a user TJThemes on soulseek and chastised for this. I said it was not me, but whatever. So I present the textbin doc he intended to post. You will see just how free our music really is. If you believe this, fuck you. I didn't want to have to do this, but these latest leaks were the final straw. Amanda (aka kgray and phoenix2010) is the source of all of these leaks. Some of you probably already made the connection or had your suspicions, but I feel that it needs to be said. Notice how Amanda always turns up in these threads with something to say, usually with something negative about the whole aspect of trading.

How do I know all of this? You see... Amanda is a bit of an elitist and a moderator of a secret scores forum called Jigsaw Reborn. Google it. She is one of 6 people (1 admin: jigasw and 5 moderators: sorei, mandi, machionic, bishtyboshty and NoMoReMrNiCeGuy) who have a private section for "exclusive shares" among those 6. They also have a regular section for the rest of members (around 30-35 total). Many of the members there are also members here at FF Shrine from what I can tell. The regular members of that forum probably do not even realize there is an even a more private forum. I'm sure that's something they don't like to talk about how the operation is truly run. This freely hosted forum seems more protected than Fort Knox. They have all kinds of rules that you can't even mention the name of the forum or url to anybody. You have to be personally invited to be a member there. There are also rules that you must ask the original uploader for permission to share what they give you. That one seems to be loosely enforced.

Amanda (aka kgray) started with her spree of leaks on January 24 with the Flyboys Recording Sessions. Over the next 2 days, she would post Backdraft, The Last Airbender (posted in vbr originally but then "Amanda" came back to say she had it in flac), Vertical Limit, Signs, The Happening, The Karate Kid, Gladiator and Salt. She claims she downloaded all of these on Soulseek, but that was a blatant lie among many that she gave. These were shared privately on Jigsaw Reborn. How do I know it was Amanda who posted these? Besides being given the same information from other reliable sources, I did my own independent investigation. Look at kgray's post history and compare it to Amanda's. There is a similar posting style. You'll see a style of posting the title in all caps. kgray refers to scorepranos as "scorepranoes" the same way Amanda did. Perhaps the most damning evidence is this particular thread. Here Amanda (as kgray) posts a NCIS promo she had compiled from various sources. In that very thread and a year and half later, Amanda claims that original compiliation was hers. Many of kgray's earlier threads are TV scores or James Horner, all of which she is known to love.

Amanda then took a bit of a breather from her kgray name. You'll notice there are no other posts from that name after January 29. On March 14, it was time for her to leak Wyatt Earp. This time it was under the name phoenix 2010 (Amanda is from the Phoenix area, isn't she?). Again, look at the post history. This account has largely been inactive and then boom goes the dynamite...they suddenly have Wyatt Earp to share? Who is Amanda kidding here? I had already confronted her as being kgray.. but she wasn't done posting. She had this other name in her back pocket.

I'm not bothered with sharing things with a small group of friends. I know it's done. I had all of these already, so it didn't personally affect me. My issues is the way she went about it. She cowardly hid behind other names to do the dirty work. She knew all these things were not to be shared publicly, yet she did it anyway. She was put in a position of trust, yet she couldn't be trusted. I'm bothered by some of the things she said and how it makes her look like a hypocrite. She had no concern whatsoever with what she did. Her cavalier and taunting attitude irks me.

It would be hard for me to imagine that they didn't have at least some knowledge of what was happening right under their eyes. What I don't understand is that people here are convinced that the site rules are divine and that any other rules can be blatantly ignored. Why can't you live with the idea that you won't get EVERYTHING THERE IS TO HAVE HERE? As for Amanda being phoenix, I don't know, but I must say it's not the first time I hear the association Amanda-Kgray. I owe a lot to this forum I admi and I could never pay back all the things it has given to me. Sure I could share stuff that people are really looking for and would certainly enjoy more than I do because as Bollemaneke and I have endlessly said, its not about money ( Ive never involved money in any kind of trading ) and to collect scores because most of the sessions I listen I dont like them and Im not laughing at you all because you don't have it. All you have to understand is that people ( I dont know how many really ) are almost becoming no-life just to put their hands on valuable stuff by contacting influent people and so on, of course it will leak, this is the great problem of the internet nothing can be hidden.
However I dont wish to put the heads of the FFS members on spikes, with hindsight I'am glad that you are all enjoying the music released because we are all fucked up some way or another by commercial releases. The problem with "us" I think is that we are all working to get stuff while others are just waiting and grab it when the fruit is ready to be picked up. Maybe if we had framed all of us in some kind of massive movement we would have realized something and got unexpected stuff. This rises another very bad view i have about this forum is that we are always so lazy, things are posted on the Film Thread, but no thread is done to discuss how to get stuff. When we created threads about making petitions in order to get sessions that you will all enjoy and not just us, they were put in the request forum or whatever in which people dont give a shit. The thing which I hate most, is when this happens: I'm one lucky guy who owns a few rare albums, some never commercially released, so they go and talk as if I'm supposed to share such items, just because of that. It still amazes how most are against piracy, too bad that a great deal of the scans they are hosting and 'streaming' without authorization constitutes copyrighted material. Fair-use be damned, I can go and defend sharing of music with that argumentation, given we're spreading music we like... allowing others to discover it and enjoy it. They'll get closed, eventually, I'm just waiting for the not-so-happy/son-of-a-bitch labels to show up.

The thing which I hate most, is when this happens: I'm one lucky guy who owns a few rare albums, some never commercially released, so they go and talk as if I'm supposed to share such items, just because of that. I do like to share, but given I'm the one which has to spend time to rip, pack and upload... I'm all for doing it when I feel like it.

Pretty hard to achieve, though I believe some are already trying their best to get access to that kind of stuff. A side-note: those promotional/not commercially available albums are found in the Video Game Music scene, too, think of them as some kind of "For Your Consideration" Promos which get sent to those guys who review game music in 'well established' websites. On a few occasions they're later sold commercially as official albums, but most of the times they have exclusive tracks not found in the commercial release, or in the game itself. Or, again, others get printed in 50-100 copies, only for the development's staff of the game... And you have to hope that some of them get tired of their copy and later sells it on the likes of eBay.

Personally, I don't have a problem with trading itself, the thing I hate are those assholes which appear in a thread and say "Happy you leaked this? Now you've doomed us all!", seriously.... mind your own fucking business and remember you aren't the only ones on this planet, folks.

I see the idea here and I agree, but if i referred to the Kgray leak, "the big one" it was not a clever tactic, I mean sure she/he/it could have shared it but spead on time because leaking 5 or 7 sessions its too much and it has created a lot of problems, here but also "undeground" like the Last Samurai case for instance. It's like candies, you give some each day and when the pack is over well you start the new one. What happened here is that too much has been given and the pack will be quickly empty. If you leak a complete set of sessions its very unlikely that you will receive anything else. Im not saying that to be despiteful because we are all gonna be the victims of that, we won't get The Last Samurai and even more, its sad for the community but a big moment of enjoyement like the Kgray day will lead to blank days in which nothing will surface ( at least blockbuster sessions )

If some of your group of traders had kept their mouths shut when those 7-8 sessions leaks happened, we would have still got them... yes... If that's the case than this "kgray" person (whom I'd never heard of until late January) was free to do whatever they wanted without getting crapped on for it, and I'm basing that on what you said before about being able to do what you want with what you have.

For reasons unknown, he has on occasion changed his mind and the sharing has resumed. Might be temporary, might not be. Entirely up to him.

Scorepranos is doing what he wants to do with what he has. Sometimes he wants to share things. Sometimes he doesn't and will even delete past links and walk away because that's what he feels he needs or just wants to do because he is free to make those choices.

He's the living embodiment of the philosophy we're discussing.

Some people have that freedom to do so without getting crapped on, and some aren't so lucky. I guess the real issue here is who is entitled to a free pass and who isn't. Amanda most certainly isn't, or this thread would not exist.

If we'd seriously respect others' jobs, we would stop every type of sharing: sessions or commercial albums (folks still pay quite the sum of money to record performances, manufacture CDs... and would like to get this money back), that's a weak argumentation to use.

Amanda is constantly accused of being a leak, or of being the cause of a thread being shut down, or this or that. it's been a recurring theme for the last 6 months at least. this time was the final straw. It's not really against people who trade stuff she's angry with. it's when these people discover that their coveted treasures are being distributed to commoners...I mean to other people, and that said "traders" feel the need to point at someone. of course, picking the real culprit being near impossible (especially on a p2p network like soulseek), it's easier to attack someone blindly, pointing fingers at a person who has a history of depression (sorry to raise that point Amanda :erm:), thinking she won't find the strentgh to defend herself, and sit down to admire the fireworks, and the countless idiots who will join the hatetrain to boo the evil supposed leaker.

only this time, Amanda got pissed, not depressed. and bamf. for your information, what happens is a near remake of the end of the first "Film score hunt thread", when a bunch of morons thought fun to attack Amanda, and got the thread derailed so much that Sarah closed it and opened a new one.

Oh, one last comment: just like Bollemaneke, you might want to get your eyes checked. when I read Amanda's post, I see no bragging. just that she'll be ruthless in her dealings with people who harrassed her. as in, Tj, Bollemanneke or you, probably.

That and she probably won't miss an occasion to pour gasoline on any fire in which traders (or asshats) are caught. I'll be there, too, passing her the gasoline jerrycan.

meh. it's not that big of a problem anymore. I clean a shelf, sneeze and cry for an hour, then I move to the next shelf/table/dresser/crate of RPG books
