A good score. The problem I had really, in setting up a Horner thread, is the sheer number of them that are Varese. Having to maintain pm'ed links was problematic, and it is not really a mega thread without...well a third of the mega....

Just commenting, have the album no link needed...

yes, but I mean there are a lot of them that are Varese. Erich and I had discussed an actual Horner thread, and were discussing the problems I had the last time we tried....

The film was from the director of "House of Sand and Fog" (also scored by JH). This film received a much smaller distribution, though.

The film is about a woman who attends a memorial / reunion commemorating a school shooting a decade or so before, but there's a lot of twists and turns with the film's overall timeline.

The film's title kind of gives it all away.

Non-orchestral, performed by Horner and George Doering on guitar.

You are mistaken, the score is in fact Orchestral, and there are no guitars on any single track...

Links sent, enjoy!

Non-orchestral, performed by Horner and George Doering on guitar.

I'd suggest you actually listen to the score then.

The entire score is synthesized, and there is indeed guitar in it. It's used exclusively as a bass instrument.

Did you even look at the credits?

Well, the score is Completely Orchestral, If Im not mistaken, "Commando" was the last "all synthesized" score by him.

Well, the score is Completely Orchestral, If Im not mistaken, "Commando" was the last "all synthesized" score by him.

It's obvious that you haven't looked at the credits or listened to the score. Also, both "The Forgotten" in 2004 and "The Chumscrubber" in 2005 were synthesized as well. Not to mention the bulk of "Field of Dreams", "Thunderheart", "Unlawful Entry"...all after Commando... But I'm talking to someone who isn't actually listening so...pretty much no point.

Well i guess Sandy De Crescent and Peter Rotter as Contractors, acording to your foolish comment, they only contract the Synthesizers for him !!

And you call yourself a Horner Fan, i heard strings, brass, winds everything the score is in fact ORCHESTRAL.

But what can i expect from a guy that says that Horner is better than Williams, when in fact when he first arrived was a Copycat of Williams and Goldsmith !!

Understand this Horner in his early years commented that his bigger influences were Williams and Goldsmith.

All your comments make me laugh, and you post like if you know too much, lol !

It takes two to carry a synthesizer, actually they are pretty heavy!

Besides dont make fun of him, I used to think like that, when I was about 9... I used to believe that John Williams was God, and that there was nobody else but him, then I discovered Korngold, Rzsa, Herrmann, Steiner, Waxman, Newman, etc...

I must see my shrink right away, I have this strange obssession, to collect CDs, just to put them in the shelves and admire them...

One thing is that a score in fact have some electronics on it, and other completely different is that they are all Completely synthesized, but Im not listening at all...
