Awesome. McCreary's work on Battlestar is some of my favorite in score history. Have yet to see "Blood & Chrome," though.

It wasn't overly intelligent, but I thought it was fun. More so the second time I saw it. I definitely would have tuned in for a second episode.

Awesome. I liked the show. Were they going to make a whole series out of it, or was it just a scifi movie like Razor?

It was meant to be a whole series.

It was made as a series of webisodes then airing on TV and released on DVD as a sort of potential pilot. If it proved popular enough, it would be picked up as an actual TV series. However, I believe it didn't. I watched the webisodes, once. Didn't like them much. I won't miss the show we didn't get. YMMV, of course.

I think it's more like the people who came up with Blood & Chrome wanted to make a TV series and filmed a pilot. The guys at Syfy decided not to pick up the series, knowing they'd probably get to air the pilot either way. They probably broke the pilot up into webisodes in an attempt to

A. Get more viewers for when it aired on Syfy and
B. Sell more DVDs & Blu-rays.

They had to recoup their losses somehow.

Thank you for this.
The series was created for the web. At one point the network was interested in turning it into a series, but passed on the final result. The 'pilot' was eventually released on the web, in sections, after which it aired last month.
According to the producers, the plan is to (hopefully) go back to the original concepts and make more of them for the web only.

I found it meh. More detailed notes for a another time on a different forum.

Thanks for posting!

A full Caprica release will be coming next month ;). I'm hoping "The Differently Sentient" track from the Episode "Apotheosis" will be included. That is my all time favorite BSG composition from Bear.

Okay after having gone over the score, I have to say, this may be perhaps the best BSG score yet and that is saying a lot considering this has only been a webseries so far!

Is that track not on the isolated score? It sounds very familiar. You are aware of the 6 disc isolated score posted here for Caprica? Nearly every bit of score for every episode...

Yeah but the official will have optimal sound quality compared to any rip. At least it should.

Technically, these were official -exactly as heard in the show. The OST release is not likely to be so. I saw an article that claimed McCreary re-records the OST selections for optimal performance and content, often adding or removing elements, making the released ost not the film versions.

Also, the iso's were not a normal rip, they were good sound and posted as flac.

Yes, but the only time that didn't result in a better version was with "Lord's of Kobol" in which he added electrical guitar like in many of the other "Pegasus" tracks. Unfortunately that destroyed its ethereal quality and the slow buildup. Most of the time the difference is hardly noticable

Welll...it was requested to be reupped, and was. In the appropriate thread started by the person who posted it. I know for absolute certainty JonC has no issue with my posting new links or mirrors in his thread. Or, are you suggesting that NO albums ever be relinked? THAT is what killed several of your favorite threads.....
