Hmm how do I start?
Well, Long time member here. I have noticed something maybe quite rare since only a few people are doing it.
Given that it can only take time before others to catch on, they might soon follow suite. What am I referring to is,
using adf.ly to wrap their links. I rarely venture past the VGM thread so I have no idea if it is only isolated there
or present in the other Film, Television and Classical Music Download Links, Anime Music Download Links and
Anime Download threads, though I doubt it.
Personally, it didn't really use to bug me when I first saw it, I kinda ignored it, then I saw it again but this time
from an old timer member. Back then he was one of the last rare rippers that was still actively ripping, encoding,
transcoding and taking requests and much so very
knowledgeable about the works with the right tool and programming, since much of the old crew bowed out
after mega got closed (links became dead and chore to reupload again) then continuous warnings before
suspension of their mediafire account.
Like, I said, it didnt really bug me, I helped once/twice to get him some things in the pasts and he seemed
like a nice bloke. I know sometimes with all the work done to share VGMs with the community, some people
take it for granted and in some scenarios cant even say thank you, which quite frankly - been ungrateful. So
I saw no problems when he started using adf.ly for links - I am assuming here - at jab back at those ungrateful
that leech and flee people.
My apologies here, I just wanted to set the scenery right which was the reason for the above statements.
Now the thing that irks me is that some members that in no form to my knowledge are even doing any form
of indepth ripping or name it what not get the files from elsewhere ( FFshrine isnt the only VGM community),
in some case having the audacity to rip it from streams, then post it here using adf.ly
I have ripped off streams before it is not rocket science, but the very fact that is freely available begs the
question. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate their effort to bring in content and contribute but their method of
sharing to me is plain and simply wrong.
Am I the only one that feels this way?
