I hear that The Wizard of Oz has been scanned and mastered at 4K for another Blu-ray release later in the year, presumably for Christmas time. I'm guessing the sound track has been remastered as well.

If there is any difference between this and the 2 disc version, I'd love a link.
It's just the songs and a few instrumental pieces, whereas the 2-CD set is the entire score, including outtakes and extended versions, plus bonus demos and other such goodies. However, the standard single-disc soundtrack is just as essential for its condensed listening experience (under 40 minutes!) and emphasis on these great classic songs. (The single-disc also contains all of the deleted and extended songs, with the exception of the deleted Over The Rainbow reprise. But The Jitterbug, the deleted dance from If I Only Had A Brain, the return to Emerald Dirty, etc. are still here.)

I second JCAfterDark's question. Can your basic listener hear any difference from earlier releases? Being a longtime lover of the film and of all its musical parts, I would love to listen to a new release, but only if it's a noticeable improvement.
