Alright, this is for all the sig-maker people out there.

so this is the deal: I'm really good with photoshop and can basically do anything with it that i want.

unfortunately, i have no artistic vision. I really can't come up with any original design for stuff that i make. now if somebody tells me what they want something to be like, i can make it totally perfect, but if somebody just gives me some pics, I can almost never come up with a cool way to arrange them on my own (a lot of times i'll ask my bro, he has a pretty good eye for that stuff)

so basically, i'm just kind of wondering if anybody else has this problem, or if i should just give up trying to do anything artistic and just use my skills to superimpose my professors' heads on naked bodies?

I know how you feel. Too many times I wanted to draw, and found myself without ideas and motivation. Usually, I would just watch some anime or flip through some mangas, and ideas would just come rushing through my head. What I suggest you to do is to look at other people's sigs, and see what you like. If you happen to like something, imitate it, but try to "enhance" it.

Yeah man, I totally feel your pain. I'm like that with my artwork... which anyone in this forum will probably back me on :D . I'm halfway decent at digital coloring, but I can't sketch anything correctly to save my freakin' life. Of course, that isn't really "sig related," but it's along the same idea, eh?

dont worry about this...i have solved this problom for my self and it works just perfectly...you neeeeed a realy good bunch of music and when you draw or whatever..just listin...it works so well youll freak out.

but if you have bad music it will do the complete opposite.

trust me.

i went through the same thing for about 2 months... none of my sigs came out out good... its basicly writers block but for graphics artists... it sux, i'm just coming out of it :(

o and btw... creativity is the most important thing in sigs, you can know the program inside out but unless your creative you wont come up with anything *sigh* its this lack of creativity which makes a good sig maker and a bad one.
