Psyco Mantis. His name itself is cool.
Liquid Snake. His voice is awsome. Love how he controls Ocelot from his arm.

Mine is probably Frank Jaeger (Cyborg Ninja) from MGS. The exo-skeleton, and ninja katana are just so damn awesome. He seems sick and twisted when you fight him, but at the end he is just amazing. A role model for all of us, dieing for what you believe in.

Second Fave....has to be Dave (Solid Snake) he's just so damn cool, and he has great and true hero qualities.

MGS 1: Cyborg Ninja a.k.a Frank Jaegar.. the best ninja ever.
MGS 2 SOL: I give it to Otacon. *sPOilers* Even though Emma died and he was down for a while, he got all the hostages out and I simply admire his will to go on even though he had a dark history..

2.phycho mantis:he is 1 of the coolest bosses you'll ever fight against...*SPOILERS* the idea to have to take out your control and put it in slot 2 so he couln't read your mind was just pure genious!!!

Snake is second because that was a really sweet opening scene in sons of liberty, predator like and such.

Snake rules. Snake shall always rule. I want to see snake and Jack Bauer from 24 have a fight.

I also really love Revolver Ocelot. He's the man.

Solid Snake. The hard ass dude who fights for what he believes in, even if he's just a killer. Although Otacon is quite cool too with his intelligence and knowledge and stuff.

Ultimately, though, Metal Gear had the biggest effect of a story twist that I've ever played in. All throughout, Big Boss is giving you orders, and then you get to the end and it turns out that Big Boss himself is the main bad guy. Awesome twist. I love it.

This is such an unfair thread... I mean, how many people are not going to say that Solid Snake is their favourite MGS character?

But HAH! I'm gonna get lynched for this, but Raiden is my second favourite. There's just something about him...

I really didn't mind Raiden. I mean, I had heard scare stories about how crap a character he was, but he wasn't as bad as I thought he would be. I was miffed that Snake wasn't playable, but meh. You've gotta move on a bit after all.

In MGS1 when it turns out McDonnell Miller was actually Liqiud Snake.

But Raiden is ok.
Raiden itself is a cool name. But Jack was a little whiney. I didn't ever think Raiden was like Snake in any way.

I threw down my controller when I discovered 2 hrs into the game that Snake wasnt going to be controlled by me... Serious. I didnt like Raiden...:confused:

raiden was cool to control....but raiden himself was a total minge...

Mantis, because he was like som gimpy S&M guy. And the most unique/enjoyable battle in MGS was against him.

Tie for second between Solid Snake and Cyborg Ninja. ;D

Also, Liquid Snake was slightly sucky. I mean, he rocked in the first game (Cam Clarke <3) but the whole OMG IM CONTROLLING U THRU UR ARM thing was pretty fucking stupid. And the Patriots (dead presidents accumulating underneath the floor. wtf.) And pretty much all of MGS2.

Sigh. :(

Tha Patriots? God, no. What the hell are you on? MGS the first was cool. The plot was.. um, unlikely, sure, but sort of believeable (well, not IMPOSSIBLE) at the same time. Sure, you had lots of stuff like Psycho Mantis' powers that were basically impossible, but it was presented in a really cool fashion, and it just about worked. It couldn't really happen, but it didn't seem SILLY.

Uhhh, I agree that the plot of MGS2 probably wasn't as strong as the first MGS, but I still have a softspot for the first Metal Gear, which I could probably still lay my hand on assuming my brother has still got the NES kicking around his house somewhere...

I should've mentioned the Colonel as well. Just because he does make some progression in terms of character during the game, and explains why he's done what he's done and all that. Plus he was willing to help you out and stuff.

I like Liquid Snake, Psycho Mantis, Vamp, "AI" Colonel...

...but Revolver Ocelot is my ultimate favourite. He's one of those villains you just gotta love :)
