Just what the title says. Any movie that lived up to your expectations or exceeded it in a good way. If there's a sequel or remake on any of these, you can add that too if you wish.

Batman 1989
Batman Returns
Nolan's Bat-trilogy
Avengers (and all the Marvel films leading up to it)
Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes
Spiderman 1-2
Amazing Spiderman
The Crow
Dark City
Mortal Kombat
Terminator 1-2
TMNT 1990
LOTR extended trilogy
Star Wars 1-6
All Godzilla and King Kong films
X-Men 1-3
X-Men: First Class (REALLY looking forward to the sequel as it's slated to be on the Days of Future Past storyline. One of my favorite episodes from the 90's X-Men cartoon)
Underworld 1, Evolution, Awakening
Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie
Alien movies
Prometheus
Lovely Bones
E.T.
Back To The Future I & II

I'll add more later.

home alone

-> I NEVER would have expected to LIKE this movie, but I laughed till I fell of my chair. (luck)

Brubaker
Alien 2
-> I watched it because I like Redford and Weaver. I found it lifted my mood and made me feel: yes, sometimes you can really DO something.

Last Samurai

-> I liked Shogun, so I thought I will watch despite Cruise. But I was SO caught by the movie (and the music) and I found it suited the fighter in me a lot :D

R.E.D.

-> I liked Space Cowboys, so I watched. GREAT, entertaining, made me laugh and feel good.

I think i will add more too...

Battleship - I thought the special effects were really good! Don't want to mention other details for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but was definitely better than what I thought.

Clash of the Titans (2010) - We all know there has been some bad remakes, but I really loved this one! I also love the original but I like the remake a tad better mainly because the monsters looked much better (especially the Kraken). I also thought Wrath of the Titans was pretty good too.

Taken - It was alot more suspenseful than I thought it would be. That is a good thing because I like suspenseful films. Taken 2 was the same way.

Total Recall (2012) - At first, I actually was on the fence with seeing this one mainly because I really love the original and thought it would suck. Boy was I wrong. It's very different than the original, but it's very awesome in it's own way so I love both equally as much... and Kate Beckinsale is in it. Nuff Said.

Resident Evil: Damnation - It was awesome to see the Las Plagas virus and Lickers again. I also love Degeneration since Claire Redfield is my favorite girl in the series but I liked Damnation a little better since it had more blood and gore and seemed more like the games. My only flaw is that I wish Leon and Ada could have had their game voice actors. Definitely my favorite video game movie so far.

Star Wars Prequel Trilogy - I know die hard fans hate these but I love them. Not quite as much as the originals, but it was cool to know Anakin's story on how he became Darth Vader.

I'll try to think of more.

Back To The Future I & II

Just curious, did you not like Part III for some reason?

YES, taken was great, I do not care if it was "good" but I loved it, a good action thriller and great entertainment.

Part III was a much, much different movie that the first two in a really bad way. It's not that I hate wild west movies. But there was really no need for a third. The first two should've been all that the film needed as it did what it had to do. Anyway, I didn't really hate III. Just disliked it. Can't complain though as I had no expectations for it since I didn't care for it.

I'm a diehard SW fan and I loved the prequel. The music from really all 6 movies just made them better. I read they're working on 7 since Disney acquired LucasFilm. Hamill, Solo and Fisher stated they'd return. It's supposedly set a lot of years after Return Of The Jedi where Hamill and his wife has a kid or something to that effect.

21 Jump Street -- Based on the trailer I had no plans on watching it but when I did I was surprised by how funny it was.

The Avengers -- Who knew Joss Whedon would deliver so well with this one, seeing how he had only directed one film before.

The Cabin in the Woods -- Loved the twists and turns and the unadulterated clusterfuck later in the film. Blew my expectations away.

The Gift -- Very surprised by the level of acting in this one. And such a great cast.

Drillbit Taylor -- The two teen main characters carry this comedy so well. And an unexpected performance from the Ring kid.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol -- The cast addition of Simon Pegg added some much needed comedy to the team. The mood is not only dangerous and cool but fun as well.

Observe & Report -- Surprises the hell out of me that a lot of people are not fans of this film. I thought it would be a racier Paul Blart but it's something completely different. Seth Rogen carves out a great (and completely delusional) character in this one.

A Single Man -- Fantastic acting in this one. I never expected to enjoy this film as much as I did considering the content.

Super -- I'm glad I'm one of the few who "get" this movie. Such a funny yet emotional film for me.

Public Enemies far exceeded my expectations. Just picked it up from the local library actually not expecting too much of it as I am not really a Gangster movie fan, but I ended up loving it.

The Unknown (1927)

A masterpice.

I read some information on IMDB and it caught my attention.
The story is really different from other films, Alonzo is an unique (demented?) character: The way he talks about Nanon, his "sacrifice" and goals, I should get that movie on DVD no matter what.

Didn't know The Hobbit was out on blu ray already.

X-Men....can't wait for the new one. It's set on one of my favorite X-Men stories, The Days Of Future Past. This also happened to be one of my favorite episodes from the 90's animated series. My favorite episode though (of Season 1 at least) was Night Of Sentinels. I wanna see a move on that one, personally.

Iron Man.

I like comic book films so I expected to enjoy it on some level but Robert Downey totally blew me away as Tony. He oozed charm.

It's my favourite of the Marvel films.

I liked Shogun

Shogun was great.

I fell in love with Yko Shimada. :erm:

Yeah. Iron Man was cool. I liked the first one better. Can't wait to see 3. My favorite Marvel film though (so far) is Avengers. There's something that gets me about hero team-ups.
