Aye, there was a Godzilla topic once in this here place, but I do not intend to create another general Godzilla scores thread, jus' a wee thread fer me Godzilla and Toho stuff.

At first I considered puttin' it with the Sentai / Tokusatsu series thread, but I kinda had the feeling after a moment that 'twas not the best idea I ever had, and that I shoul' consider puttin' Godzilla and his monstrous fellas in their own thread.

This way 't would be clearer : all the Sentai stuff in one corner, and the giant monsters in another.

'tis also the occasion fer me to apply a different presentation to the material, wiv' more data.

Also, the Sentai topic's first post had became a bit too crowded and difficult to edit.

I hope the guv'nors will not mind.

If you take the link as he is, you shouldn't have any problem.

What is the nature of your problem? I just tried and it's the good link, I checked the archive and there's 99 tracks.

Now, if you're tryin' to download with softwares like Jdownloader, you may have problems... I never tried.

Juste take TF as it is, there are no ads, no waiting time, no download limit, ... Just too bad they're a very little french hoster in beta version... Sometimes they have bugs. Everywhere they say 'tis 34 tracks.

What I have here is devoid of titles, but is tagged as being "Godzilla's revenge", and that's how it was presented to me.

What's more, there are no other soundtrack fer Godzilla's Revenge, except Disc 5 from Box 2, and the tracklist is 44 titles long.

One has to assume this here record is the genuine article... Plus one. I be sorry fer the inconvenience, but can't offer any other help... Generally I download in batches and sort it all out later, so sometimes I got two times the same album, but I checked here and I just have this album one time.

Ye should consider downloadin' disc 5 from box 2 for a wider experience of this specific movie's score, with the correct track number and a named tracklist.

Oh, sure thing, 'tis but a temporary annoyance, it seems mister Danois is quite the busy man, and is alone to manage his newfound business.

Thus, he can be slow fer his updates, and he's alone too fer enhancin' the services. (like I said, Terafiles's only in beta version right now, hence the frequent bugs and "down")

I suggested he be proposin' premium services fer the paltry sum of 5€ / month (half the price of other "great" hosters), as well as addin' sum undisturbin' advertisements, like banners... At least he would get sum money to devote to his project... Right now, I think the man has another full-time job to pay the bills and Terafiles is but a wee side-project of his...

Let's hope fer all of us it does not just stay an unfinished project... After all, I have nearly 1.000 files on Terafiles server, 'twoul' take sum time to reupload all this on, let's say... Mega? (at least a week if batch upload is fully functionnal and I got time on me hands)

Depositfiles, Bitshare and Uploaded are quite good too, alas, if ye don't pay fer premium, their services are crappy at best...

Oh, I got to experience the full speed of my connexion earlier on a server that really does not limit the download speed (every server does, even Terafiles who doesn't go higher than 3mbps), it went up to 20mbps fer a handful of seconds, then dropped progressively to 4mbps.

I never thought it to be possible. 'twas like bein' in a SF movie ^^

I was so used to have a slow connexion... Well, I shoul' stop talkin' since I can't give ye stuff... I dun' have access to em stuff, 'n even if I had, ye wouldn't be able to download it... Such a pity...

Oh, an HP Lovecraft disciple. 'tis always the pleasure to pleasure one with such fine litterrary tastes. 'could pretty much talk about the master of Providence fer hours, but here is not the thread fer that. That Lovecraft fella wasn't a bad guy, just a shy mate wiv' lotsa uncontrolled fears. That's what made him a genius. sum says shite 'bout the hermit of Providence today, because he did not like aliens, but one has to understand that he wasn't really so hateful, just a tiny scared man. People wiv' half a brain tend to say that, had he witnessed the horrors of the holocaust, dreaded to the bone by the gruesome actions of the germans, he would definitely have switched his views about foreigners and other aliens. Plus, his antisemitics views weren't muchuva problem when he spoused the jewish Sonia Greene. Eventhough their hymen lasted fer only two months, and divorce was proncouned wafter two years. He even worked with fellas like Samuel Loveman, who was jewish too. If he was that much of an antisemite, how could he have suffered to marry or to work with jews? No no no, my dear Howard was but a little scared white man. And he hated the things that scared him. And that meant a lot of things. Including life itself. A true genius in his own right he was, and no tribute will ever be glorious enough to do justice to the might of his talent.

Look at me, goin' all soft on good ol' Howie. Quite a fella he was. What a shame he never got to know the internet. Gosh, how he would have loved it. His genius is even greater when you consider how humble he was. Certain that his scribblings would be thrashed after his death. What an insufferable waste it would have been.

Praised be Howard Philips Lovecraft, despised and shuned he may be, but without him, there would never have been modern fantasy and horror.

Even this wretchling of Stephen King would have been nothing much than a paperboy or a pizza delivery guy without Lovecraft.

All who love a good horror / scifi / fantasy book nowadays should indeed pay respect to the man who once said "I am Providence".

Oi, I can see the question marks flourishin' above ye head me mates. Ye see, "The Peanuts" was a two-women band in the sixties singin' songs halfway between pop and traditionnal / enka. That does not explain WHY they are here... Well, ye see, this band who suddenly disappeared in 1975 made a sensationnal beginning in the movie "Mothra" (eventho their band existed since 1958) where the twin sisters played twin liliputians kinda fairies named Lora an' Moll whose chant was able to conjure forth the beastie known as Mothra in order to protect 'em or their mates. 'twas known as the "Mothra song" and was a hit back in the Japan of 1961. Eventho the other songs arn't about Mothra and Tokusatsu stuff, jus' 'cuz the band was so intimately tied to these productions, I chose to share their albums here... For the info, of the two wee lassies, only Yumi's still alive, her sister Emi died the 15th of june 2012 at age 71.

Info : Wut? Yet another record composed of growling beasties? Well, no. 'tis a special record, it includes nearly all the audio trailers fro the Godzilla movies ands SF movies from the Toho like Half Human, Frankenstein Conquers the World, The Mysterians, ... The quality is sometimes a bit low but that's 'cuz the recordings date back to the fifties sometimes... And they were not remastered.

A little additional Information:

Those tracks are no special audio records or something, it's just the audio code taken directly from the theatrical trailers... And believe me, you get them in better quality and along with the video on some DVDs or YouTube... ;)

And I still wonder why they didn't took the original theatrical trailer for Varan (lasting 2:53 mins!), but instead of just using this ugly and zero-telling short re-release thingy... *shaking head disunderstanding*

I overheard many seem to have searched for them for years - So your desparation is now obsolete! :D

To tell something about the "What the hell is this?" - It's a two CD series of recordings from japanese synthesizer legend Makoto Inoue! He has sat down with his fellow musician compo to recreate a colourful synth sound remake of some well-known tunes from the classic Godzilla series and other Toho SF films, like The Mysterians, Battle in Outer Space, Mothra, Gorath, Undersea Warship, King Kong Escapes and so on. Of course not the same as the original soundtrack recordings of those days, but still a nice remix compile and you have the most of the important cues from the most of the important films of that period... Though still some films missing (like Son of Godzilla, Godzilla vs Hedorah or The War in Space), but it's a really easy to listening and slightly different way to enjoy the beloved Tokusatsu themes we all are grown up with! :)

BTW, remembering Takeshi's Castle? There some of the tunes were played very often during few of those crazy games... ;)

Anyways... having the remastered CDBoxes with ALL films.... I cant find so much problems with that. Remastered + 95-100% old OST's... Dont see a problem with this.

Yeah I can tell you what's the matter on this one: It already IS the same as the Futureland release, it in fact has only 34 tracks! The 35th track is maybe the US version main title added by some nerdy fanboy who couldn't hold back himself... So feel free to delete this one track and so you have the ORIGINAL release again... ;)

Dankesch�n Leitbild.......I think the Sato-Collection as also the Ifukube-Collection from SLCS seem to be long out of print as I am not wrong and are extremley difficult to get......but they are extremley good collections.......exspecilly the 10 Masaru Sato-CDs have also a good long runtime........very impressive

Satoh is the american way to write the name, the japanese would be Satou, but as I'm neither american nor japanese, I write it Sato :D So you can say it's the german writing method... ;)

So, wanna get flashed? There are 17 releases by SLC of the Film Music of Masaru Sato! ;)

Really hard to find stuff... I already got the Vol.10, but the disc has some errors so I couldn't rip the tracks out of it (I also tried ISO, mounting, the whole thing)... Nothing worked...
It's really sad, so we still just got the Vol.4... :(

And as with Ifukube, if you heard only the Godzilla stuff of Sato, you really still have heard NOTHING! :D

I dunno, I think there are just various methods to translate japanese names, dunno neither if one of 'em is specifically american... fer sumuvem ya'll have Satoh, or Satou, maybe Satoo too, when you kinda dunno which one's the right one, 'tis always better to stick to the macron : Satō.

I dunno 'bout japanese huh, jus' had to try me hand at it a wee bit fer translatin' stuff wiv' a software, 'n' I never really understood when an ō becomes oh, ou, or oo.

I think for a certain group of people Uwe Boll is a genius.....in my honest own opinion he is only a filmmaker who is trying to make movies but the end result is always not satisfiying........only the choose of composers which work for him is interesting.....in the last times Jessica de Rooji (extremley talented young female composer)...........but nevermind this is a special thread for great japanese film scores and not a Uwe Boll-Thread (the last time I will say this name....xD)

The two releases contain the (in my opinion) best and whole balanced selections of the Godzilla films from 1954 to 1995! You get all important themes for all of the first 22 Godzilla films - These compilations are very recommendable to all these people, who don't want to download all of the complete OSTs of the movies and are also satisfied with getting some important themes of every film instead...

Many people seem to get confused, because there are several best ofs of a similar kind out there, so I now explain you the differences:

The Best Selected Music of Godzilla Vol. 1 + 2 (aka Then + Now; TYCY-5464 + TYCY-5465)
These two discs were released in Japan in 1995 by Futureland (the label also brought us the Great Godzilla OST and Toho SF OST Collections as many others more)
and are basically the same as the both FILMCD 201 + 202 I've uploaded here now!
The only differences are the release year (the FILMCDs are released in 1998 to accompany the upcoming theatrical release of the Emmerich Fuckzilla), the label (Silva Screen Records), the localization of release (released in Europe and Australia only) and (of course) the brief movie descriptions on the booklets are in english (the Futureland releases had japanese texts as you quietly can imagine) - So the tracks the CDs containing and their order of appearance, with the running times of each track as well as the whole disc running times are IDENTICAL!!! So the both Silva Screen releases are in fact public domain re-releases of the Futureland discs for the european/australian market! ;)

The Best of Godzilla 1954-1975 + 1984-1995 (GNPD 8055 + 8056)
These both discs were released for the US american and the canadian market by GNP Crescendo (also some copies arrived in other parts of the world, so I found them also in some european stores back then), also in 1998 to accompany that dumb Emmerich-flick...
So, these two discs are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to the other releases by Futureland/Silva Screen Records!!!
Other track selections are used, the booklets are colorful and full of pictures and (sometimes factually wrong: so Godzilla Raids Again is allegedly released in 1959, not in 1955 as it was in true or the music for the 1974 Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla was reputedly made by Akira Ifukube instead of Masaru Sato, the real composer for that movie and so on...) information about the films, short sound effect cues are used within the music tracks, the track selection is completely different as in the Futureland/Silva Screen releases and (and that's the main annoying point on these discs) many tracks are very repetitive (for example 2 tracks for Destroy All Monsters represent in fact the same theme, also used for Ghidorah '64), on the other hand many films got only ONE track either (Godzilla Raids Again, Ghidorah - The Three Headed Monster, Invasion of Astro Monster and Godzilla vs Hedorah), music for Ebirah - Horror of the Deep was completely absent(!?) and they putted in Mothra's Song of Mothra '61 (actually NOT a Godzilla film at all), instead of there was a large use of record versions of some Godzilla songs (for example Godzilla March of Godzilla vs Gigan, Miyarabi's Prayer of Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla '74 and a strange pop version of Mothra's Song for Godzilla vs Mothra '92 were used), in my eyes a totally useless decision, because they took away too many playtime what had could be used for more (unique sounding) tracks for the other films...
As you see, I wasn't really pleased with that releases, so I prefered the other releases by Futurland/Silva Screen Records! ;)

So my final conclusion:
Silva Screen made a wise choice!!! :D

So I can only recommend the two FILMCD releases (as well as the two japanese Futureland releases, in fact of their are technically the same) I've uploaded today, because they have the nicest and (as said before) most balanced selections (you get all important themes and nothing is too repetitive at all - unlike as on the 2 GNP discs) - as a little bonus I made scans of the covers and booklets all contained in the archives along with the music files! :)

It's the on disc soundtrack for the great NEC PC Enginge (better known as TurboDuo overseas) game Godzilla: Fierce Battle Legends! I have both versions of this game (japanese + US), so I was able to check each score against each other and to finally create a complete recollection of all tracks (from both versions, some tracks are varying)... :)

It's a nice game score and most of the titles were also used for the also cool SNES game Godzilla: Great Monster Battles (also made by Alfa System, the company behind Fierce Battle Legends), so maybe some of you who already had played this game will remember most of the themes here. The game soundtrack was realized in form of audio tracks on the game CDs, so I was able to rip them off like on any regular audio CD... Great deal! Isn't it? :D

I just left out one track of the japanese version, as it actually wasn't more than a cutted version of the Godzilla theme out of the Ostinato by Akira Ifukube, so it doesn't fit to the other synthesizer score tracks on the disc and I decided to let it out at last. I hope you can forgive me this time for doing that! ;)
In exchange you'll get the two tracks exclusive made for the US release of the game: An alternate theme for the final boss battles (track 15) and a unique new Godzilla theme (track 4) what also was used for the intro movie of that US version...

It means :

There's a problem when your computer try to access the server. It happens when you download AND when you upload.

It's been two days now that this bug appeared, I have contacted the administrator but he ain't respondin'.

When I upload, at 99.57% or so, an error message tells me that 'twas unable to reach the server and please contact the administrator, etc.

So, nopz, my files ain't corrupted.

Ye just can't download'em properly 'cuz Terafiles's buggin' YET again...

And that administrator seem ta be sum lazy bum... Let's wait fer the weekend, maybe he'll have time to spend of it's project...

Fer the time bein', I'm usin' Mega... 'tis quick too, 'n' I haven't put any password on me files...

Gamefront no please, the host deleted the files in a matter of days, a lot of European countries have restrictions, etc.

Putlocker/Packupload maybe the best options with FIleupload but again, if i was Bal i would wait at least 1-2 weeks more to see if the problem persists.

Well, in 1966 was a show runnin' on the japanese television, fer 11 episodes, and it wasn't very succesful... 'twas Ultra Q, a tokusa&tsu series with kaijus and SF elements... A week after the death of this here serie, another one was released, which woul' be made of the stuff of legend : Ultraman.

So, yes, basically, this here is Ultraman's ancestor.

Hello, I am looking for Shunsuke Kikuchi OST for the 1977 Japanese drama series Akai Gekiryo in English (Red Fate), it's very rare soundtrack and only present in LP, some of its tracks were featured in the akai music collection CD, this soundtrack is one of the best dramatic ones for the above composer, i couldn't figure out the story accurately, but it's about a piano player who teach a piece of music to another piano player, i have read that the piano music that accompanies the music is played by the composer Kentaro Haneda, if you can recognize this OST and tell me if someone could find it please. It's basically what's on disc one filmed live. Low quality. I dig the track listing. Although I'm kind of disappointed that Ghidrah and Monster Zero are combined together. Those two albums are a goldmine of selections.

I also checked into the one you just suggested. I may pick that up as well but it looks like it features less Ifukube and more Kow Otani music. It does say that disc two will be pretty much what was on Ifukube's Symphonic Fantasia concerts previously released. Eh.

The full score has not been released, and I doubt the complete recordings are extant since VAP had to pull M1 from the film's audio track when they released Akira Ifukube Film Composer Selection Nikkatsu (VPCD-81189). My upload contains everything that's been released on CD, except M23 (Funeral Procession). The reason why I left it out was due to the fact that it was obviously not the same version used in the film, and was most likely an alternate take.

My sources heard in my upload are the selections found on VPCD-81189 along with most of the four selections on Film Works by Akira Ifukube Vol. 6 (SLCS-5055). The Funeral Procession cue I mentioned is on SLCS-5055, but like I said, it wasn't included in my upload since it's most likely an alternate take.

It's also worth mentioning that cues from the "The Burmese Harp" were released on EP by RCA Italiana (EPA-30-264) in 1956. All but two cues (M7 and M32) ended up released on CD.

I just downloaded the two versions of Godzilla vs. Hedorah and noticed that tracks 12, 50 and 51 on each download skips during the songs. Is that intentional or a faulty download?

I assume you mean the soundtrack to the 1993 Mechagodzilla film? If so, which specific release? There is a single disc release, the two disc Complete Recordings release and the two disc release from the Perfect Collection set. The Complete Recordings release is by far the best of the three. It's on here on this thread, a few posts before this very post of mine.

As for the Shin Godzilla Music Collection, it's not on this thread, but elsewhere on the forums. Hopefully you won't have trouble findng it.

Info : Tracks 1-12 are from "Daimajin", tracks 13-20 are from "Daimajin Ikaru", tracks 21-31 are from "Daimajin Gyakushu", the three movies were made in 1966, but released a year apart, all material by Akira Ifukube.

Pretty unfortunate. Seems like my copy is missing 8 tracks. Oh well. Here ye are. Still better than being hit by a boulder. As an apology gift, two soundtyracks coming outta nowhere. 'cuz there seems to be only two soundtracks for Daimajin : COCC-13080 and a box... These are neither. But they're doing a better job than the other OST's at being complete.
