THE FIRST OF MAY (unreleased score by Michael Tavera?) (lossless/flac)
Here's a challenge for you! I obtained this disc at a private auction where it was listed as a "composer promo." However, I can find nothing to link Michael Tavera to any film of this name. There was a 1999 film called "The First of May" which tells the sentimental story of a lonely boy and older woman who run away to join a circus. I rented the movie and score credit goes to Brian Langsbard, not Tavera. None of the music on this disc was used in the film (I listened carefully), so it's not Langsbard's music on this disc. Rejected Tavera score? Right composer but wrong film title? Two inquiries to Tavera at his personal website were never answered.
Whatever the truth, these 7 tracks of music are quite pleasant: sentimental and uplifting, with some folksy charm.
7 tracks totaling just 12 1/2 minutes.
Good stereo sound. No dialog or sfx.
Tau and EAC indicated all tracks on this disc to be lossless.
Disc was ripped to FLAC using XLD.
The cover shown is the only artwork that accompanied the disc.
