I used to share the track "Show Me Your Firetruck (film version)" from the CD Ron Howard - Passions & Achievements.

In case anyone is interested: That track is now obsolete. It has the same mix as the revelatory complete film score shared by kgray but is essentially an abbreviated mash-up of Funeral and Epilogue (tracks 20 and 21).

I was about to say I hadn't seen Piano here in a long time, when someone else mentioned him/her. But Piano seemed cool, to me at least, and posted some unusual stuff. Well - I'm not hugely into these complete scores collections, but the huge number of posts on these threads caught my eye and have certainly opened my eyes to another underwurld going on that I didn't know about.

So here's my thoughts on all this.

This whole not being allowed post music because someone may get in trouble for it is a joke. If the person/s in question were so afraid of getting in trouble, then they wouldn't share or trade it with others in the first place. You can't control what people will do with something once it's given to them, so complaining about it after things like this happens is pointless. Demanding they remove the music is also pointless as this is a sharing forum and anything that's posted that isn't listed on the music that can't be posted thread is fine here.

This whole trading business is nonsense on this forum, you either share what you have or don't, especially if it may get you in trouble. Just don't go bragging about what you have if you're not willing to share, you're just asking for people to have a go at you for teasing them. Also, even if you share on a private forum you have to understand that this is the internet, things have a way of getting around and you can't control it.

So in future, if you want to share, fine, if you don't want it getting around the net, don't share/trade with people, especially if it may land you in trouble.

So... what do you guys think about the score? lol

Great to hear the Film version of the Main Title. The official album was far too loud. If you listen carefully, some of the synth effects share a lot in common with Zimmer's 'Pacific Heights'.

The reason why this sound quite different from the OST... or more correct; the reason why the OST sound quite different from this, is that the OST had much, if not all (on some cues?) of the synth's removed from the mixes.

This is the actual film/original version, yes, as far as I know. Not any demo recordings or anything like that.

Does anyone have the trailer music? The original teaser trailer that was all music and no sound effects + visuals. The main trailer had music from "Glory" in it -- I'm not talking about that one. I used to have a copy of this trailer on VHS tape but I don't have it anymore. It had the main theme of the film but a little slower. Just curious.

Great, rousing, melodic Zimmer score to a film that's undeniably fun (thanks to the aforementioned score, and the affable performances, and the fire effects of course) but barely comes out ahead thanks to a generic, shallow script and bland directing from Howard (in my opinion, of course. Backdraft did make a ton of money).
